  • Hey, sounds really interesting. My dad was overseas in WW2 so maybe I should see what I can find about him. I know I have some pictures, but not many stories, if any.

    In 1943 I was living in a coal mining camp up in the Cumberland Mountains.

    I know my dad wrote stories from when he was growing up . Some are so hilarious. He will be 82 soon!

  • I can't wait to see your videos, that'll be interesting, at least I think so....My dad's oldest brother is the same age as your dad, and was in the Army at the time. He never talks of his experiences even when we ask him, so we just leave it. Oh Well!! Your dad was a handsome fella, and you look like him !

  • Hi Jim, REALLY looking forward to this. I'm not sure if my Dad wrote to my Mom or not. All of their stuff was stolen from the attic of their old home. Broke my heart and Mom's. I can't wait to hear of your Dad's service to his country. Mine didn't see Europe, he was on a ship in the British West Indies. Thank you for doing this. Please send Love to your Mom from Texas.   • What a Treasure Jim.... I would love to hear the letters.. My Father served in the Army and in The Korean War,My Mother kept all his letters too.I made him a Shadow Box with His Dog Tags, Medals etc. for Father's Day...He was very emotional.Staying tuned.. : D

    My grandpa on my mom's side was a WWI Vet. Three of her 4 brothers we in WWII. and the Phillpns and the likes.

    My dad's cousin is a Viet Nam Vet.

    My cousin Brian is a Marine.

    Whew..! Sorry, I got carried-away here. lol!
