  • OMG... you guys must have been so talented to have developed those things so young!...

  • lol.

"I've never done a side scroller!"

  • How long did it take for you guys to learn C++?

  • @DaUnknowna 6 1/2 years

  • when and how did you learn opengl?

  • damn dude 12 years old... I barely know the sdl library at 15

  • Lolz I've played so many of those it's not funny... Let's see... I've played with the sdl shooter thing... And I played with your Null editor... and I've played that space game... okay maybe not all but I got to try a lot of them... I actually have no idea how I got a hold of them... i think mar put that space game up on the forum, and jsl gave me the shooter... oh yeah you had the null editor put on the fforum long ago too... it was an old post I dug up.... Good times

  • How do you guys rip off sprites from games?

  • its great you started so early

  • r u guys gona sell dreamcast disc or what???

  • You guys are real talented. Words cant describe the level of edumakation you guys developed.

  • Seriously!

  • Lol 2:26!

  • DUCK MASSACRE...sweet

  • That's nifty.. I don't have alot of mathematical understanding x.x

It makes programming a bit difficult.

Such as the trig you mentioned in your rotating particles demo.

Maybe you could do a trigonometry video tutorial or something, or teach some of us how to rotate a 2d graphic or sprite using trig. That'd be epic.

When I was 14 I started learning programming and I played with tile engine stuff, and map editors. I remember my first 2d map editor I was so proud of it. Had a decent Gui

  • Awesome :D Interesting to see how you got started.

  • i cant really find a book about Graphics API in my city.

That megamen, has multiple story ends just like Stalker, thats cool.

How about you get back on that and you get something good out of it..?

  • Omg!! The shooting scared me! xD xD

That would be an awesome fps, just gotta be 3rd for max action :D

  • Btw thanks a lot for this video guys... thats what i needed to get me back to programing. I've done some little platformer (if he can do that at the age of 14 ;) )

And my project will be posted on youtube soon :D

  • At least there is anexisting game that can pwn any noob that brags about making an MMO. Are you playing on a TV or computer? If its a TV how do you do that man?

  • I have a question. What language did you and your friend first learn??

  • I learned Perl. My brother, Marcel, learned BlitzPlus.

  • Great!

  • Heh heh, I got that demo lol

  • at 5:20, i have the same keyboard. it's pretty win.

  • Mine's broke. =/

  • How did you guys start learning at 14?

Did you start w/ tuts and then just move to finding out why the tuts worked, or did you learn the language and move into game creation?

  • I'm fourteen, heh, I started last year though, back when I was thirteen, yeah you buy books watch tutorials, read tutorials and just move up, eventually things come together....

  • Learned the language then moved onto game creation. Neither of us used tutorials. We bought books on the languages and APIs.

  • I liked that particle thing.

Hey, what was your first C++ book?

  • wow, you guys were probably more skilled at 12/14 than i am now :s

  • First off, you guys rock.

null looks awesome, I wish we could see it running. It's cool to see little elements of ES in there, like the blood particles and the Gemini Man tiles. (God bless Megaman 3 and all of its awesomeness)

Marcel, that split-screen shooter is badass dude! That's a really cool concept.

And I still love that particle demo. Don't you love when you create a beautiful piece of code that can be used over and over on several projects and never lets you down?

  • UPDATES! FINALLY! 8D

you guys had some pretty freakin' skills for your age :)

  • lol my other comment was dumb, the games are neat! :)

  • OMG, new videos... thanks GyroVorbis

  • Really really nice.

Hope things are going well for the team. ^^

Great to see this stuff. <3

  • The null game looks badass.

  • That is so impressive! It's giving us all even more inspiration too! Very nice.
