  • the pilot did not brake the wing in time ! at 0:12 he should have used 70% of the brake to control the surge forward !

    Immediately after incident all sportive activities was canceled - the main reason

    of this movie existing - sportive hysteria that came true the worse flying scenarios.

    The positive message: disbalance of the wing possibilities, airmanship level and weather conditions, lead to high clicks collecting!

  • That day there was minimum three collapses,

    because of taking off in very turbulent conditions - literally inside the rotor.

    Only Itai falled down, but he was absolutely OK due to his personal good destiny and even flown that day in Zichron Yacov start place..

    Start place in Mt. Tavor is West-oriented,

    but there were strong wind of the north direction. So, take off was very critical.

  • Ok, how do you avoid such violent collapse? Looks like he entered a thermal just before launch, and got the collapse on the exit. My instructors told me that when i fell a little turbulence o flying in a thermal area to pull a little brake (10%) and control the glider with weight shift. I´m a begginer pilot.
