How come, with some of Coyote's plans, when he tests them out on other objects, they seem to work just fine...but, when he tries them out on the Road Runner, they ALWAYS fail? Why is that?

As one Cartoon Network-only short put it, "you should see the line of credit" that Acme gave him.  Also, "Back in Action" (the Looney Tunes movie that apparently flopped at the box office, probably due mainly to bad timing) reveals he's an Acme employee.

Probably the most logical guess from there is that he's the lead tester for Acme products.
