According to Neil Kernon (the prodcer) Sacrifice is at 265 bpm tempo, but here they play faster as usual, perhaps some 270 class tempo. I have counted, that if he were drumming 10 hours at 270 bpm, he could play million notes in one day!!! (270 x 4th notes makes 1080 in minute just feet + 1080 with hands makes 2160 notes in minute, 2160 x 60 (minutes) x 10 hours makes 1 296 000 notes! He was practicing 8 - 10 hours a day when recording last album...He should be in Guiness world record

not knocking, but metal requires stam that you build up, and jazz requires feel that you have to learn. so jazz has more thinking where the metal is more metronomeish. i got my intro to drums from plating metal, but jazz is sweet shit if you find good stuff, "tank" by the seatbelts...on youtube is awesome jazz. it just is hard to go to a slower pace tempo of music when you listen to kollias.

Dude, I play death metal too, in a band called Necrocelia (the name is an in joke) and I can assure you reaching 240 bpm isnt as hard as a lot of jazz pieces.

Also Kollias and Roddy aren't great jazz drummers, they play too heavy handed and they have little or no feel because of it.

Cheater456, the drummer doesn't have to be death metal drummer to be fast, many jazzdrummers are very fast with their hands. I like metal yes, but still, there is so many genres wich has fast drummers. And the fastness isn't everything, Kollias and Roddy are fast, yes but their technique is great too plus they can groove very nicely. And I think In Flames isn't death metal? If it is, just "Whoracle" is death metal and other ones are some sort of combined stuff from differend metal styles, imo.
