AT THE TIME, most of the bands I noted were labeled metal like Alice Cooper. Black Sabbath would be looked at as a Hard Rock band in these times. Personally, I believe they should be labeled metal but whatever.Ask any real metalhead and they will tell you at the time Led Zeppelin were labeled metal at the time along with the other bands I listed.

thanks for the comment, indeed I typed slayer twice. However, Sepultura have always been a thrash metal band. Do not get confused because the vocals are slightly on the death metal side. They have always been considered legends of thrash, not death metal.

I dont think so... it sounded like the early death metal like possessed, death, rigor mortis, morbid... which had a Thrash Metal influence as the same of black metal at the beggining in some of its bands.

Early thrash metal sound could be defined for some metal bands without being properly thrash metal, like mötorhead, metal church... or true thrash metal bands sound like exodus, overkill, Early Slayer... or Punk-Hardcore bands like Discharge, Amebix...
