I'd love to think that these whales are content and happy but they aren't. It's hard to think that they're miserable because they do all the tricks, get fed etc. but they only do it for the food. It sucks because I love Seaworld because they provide educational information but at the same time, it's a jail for these animals. I don't know where I stand. I need to see a documentary on this to see how truly unhappy these beautiful creatures are.

everyone please watch The Cove and A Fall From Freedom and reconsider your visit to marine parks!! these animals are kept in tanks too small for them to truely exercise, you're encouraging separations of dolphin families by watching these shows, and moreover attacks on dolphin trainers and suicides show that they're under extreme stress. I actually can't watch this. its so sad, watching this whale do these things for our entertainment, they shouldn't be held in captivity, they should be in the wild. i wish these places would just get shut down.

@oceangirl1525 Because they get rewarded with food, they do it because they associate the tricks with food. And that is the whales main priority. Don't be fooled in thinking these whales enjoy performing everyday, if they had the option they would choose to live as wild as possible. Also, i get that some of these whales were rescued, but instead of using them for our entertainment, why not keep them in wildlife sanctuary's were they can life as wild as possible, stress free?

i am positive for captivity, when the animals got all that they need. but a question i ask myself when we come to these animals is: maybe they are so intelligent that they need freedom? maybe they can understand they are trapped and they want more? personally, i don't think so, cause if they were so intelligent, they could also understand with no problems who are imprisoning them, yet they don't usually attack man. but the only way to be sure would be make some serious research around this.

Gosh, I miss seeing Orcas in real life. -Orca lover- The last show I tried to go to I missed because my evil cousin dragged me off to a ride...that he told me would have several sharp drops and lots of loops only after I was strapped in. I was 12 and hated rides that went up-side down. Of course, it didn't really go upside-down; he just wanted to see me cry. By the time the ride was over, we came back to the show...as it ended...

It was a horrible day for me and I haven't seen an Orca in real live since! My sister isn't bad...She was actually dragged along too, but wasn't as disappointed about missing the show as I was.

Over the years, my cousin's matured a lot. He's actually quite enjoyable to be around now. I used to dread spending time with him before...Fate kinda got back at him the day after Sea World when we went to the beach. A seagull swooped right down and stole his sandwich just as he was about to bite into it!
