  • What a voice so clear and strong.

  • very beautiful chanson this is the kind of chanson that i like romantic and with an orchestra, melodic romanticism i also love marlene dietrich too

  • maravillosa cacion!!!! saludos desde Madrid

  • @Jewls1993

    She looks like 40. XD

  • This song is great ! But maybe too long. I think she should have stopped before speking in German and English because it didn't work on juries ! lol

By the way, I don't really understand what is shoking... It's not sexual ! She just shows what was sensual in Marlene Dietrich ! Yet 1970 is 1 year after the beginning of the sexual liberation in France ! lol

  • What a beautiful smile!

  • Easily the best song that year - musically it is one of the great, unusual, overlooked songs of Eurovision, but I suppose these hidden gems are what make this contest so special. I remember being so disappointed and surprised (naively) that it almost came last! Catchy, clever, tongue in cheek, maybe all a bit too much for the judges. How different that girl's career would have been if they'd recognised the magic of both song and singer.

  • I cant believe it. She was only 16 at the time??? She looked really mature for 16. I thought she was in her late 20s. Too bad she didnt place in the top 10. She had a good voice back then. Really nice song.

  • @FlavioGirl But she did, LOL! The yearhad just 12 entries, so it wasn't that difficult. She finished joint 8th with two other entries (Italy & Belgium).

  • elle me fait penser à edith piaf

  • A nice song that gets a lot of extra points for Dominique Dussault's truly charismatic performance. Not one of my favourites from that year but still a nice little number.

  • T. You're comment that this song is "a kind of spoof tribute" brings a wry smile to my face. On the night of the contest my parents both thought this was a rather inappropriate song for a family show (which is what the RTE commentator is hinting at). As an innocent 10 yr old I didnt understand why then. I think it rather cute now.

  • Typical overprotected approach, with all due respect to your parents. People try to 'protect' children from implications that they just don't get. I watched "Look who's talking" when I was a kid, and it was years before I saw the sexual implications in it; why should a child of 10 see how Marlene Dietrich could be an inappropriate song material? (Besides, I doubt you understood French at that time.)

  • Seth, in many ways you are right. I didnt in any way understand what my parents said at the time - but now do. Did I need the protection then? Probably not, but parents are parents - I'm none the worst for it. watching it now I find the whole perforamce quite amusing and probably like the song more as a result.

  • Thank you tasosk3 for this wonderful video which I never thought I would have an opportunity to witness. I am Dominique Dussault's stepmother living in Australia, but my first meeting with Dodo in Paris was after this Eurovision Song Contest. Viewers should understand that fashion in the 70s was probably not to today's taste, though skirt length might go up or down without any warnings. She has been known as another Edith piaf because of her great voice.
