  • That's my jelly Roll!

  • all I can say it does not get any better then this,,,gotta love that Dixie Land Brass jazz music of new Orleans

  • JELLY ROLL/JELLY ROLL/...I AIN'T KNOW YOU HAD IT LIKE THAT!

  • Thank's Jelly

  • "Red Hot Peppers"? Can I relay this to something obvious?

  • More glidin' and easy-ridin' than Armstrong's famous version, and damn good.

  • This was recorded on 28th. sept. 1939. The band members were Sidney Bechet: Wellman Braud: Harry Caldwell: Sidney de Paris: Claude Jones: Lawrence Lucie: Albert Nicholas: Fred Robinson: Zutty Singleton, and of course, Jelly Roll Morton.

Thank you for sharing this great post.

  • @Corrie121 Bechet is not present on this tune, he only recorded 4 tunes with Morton (High Society, Oh didn't he ramble, Winin' Boy Blues & I thought I heard Buddy Bolden say, all on Sept. 14, 1939

  • This is not his red hot peppers band which lasted from 1926 -1930 but a 1939 pickup group which he called his New Orleans jazz men. Sidney Bechet is on clarinet here I think.

  • This was from 1939 with clarinet by Albert Nicholas Tenor by Happy Cauldwell , Claude Jones on trombone , Sidney de Paris on trumpet

  • This is sure different from Louis Armstrong's version! Interesting to listen to, though

  • It's closer to Oliver's own recording which predates Armstrong's.

  • fabulous...great great sound~!

  • Do you know in which year this was recorded?

  • 1939.

  • @Morahman7vnNo2 Damn War.....could have been such a great time of music!!

  • 28Th. Sept, 1939.

  • I love jazz..... well onley jelly-rolls.
