This is definitely not "the ugliest bird" i have ever seen, she's ADORABLE!!!!!! I can't believe that would say that, that's horrible. Cockatoos have the best personalities and are soo loving (they act more like a dog than a bird lol). I have an Umbrella and he's a NUT!!! He's always making me laugh!!!!

he's finally growing back his feathers back, and is as happy as a bird can get :)
i am amazed, happy and filled with wonder that he has graced Planet Earth with his life. twelve years is a LONG time for a Big Bird diagnosed to die in 6 months and that aint no joke FT five stars thanks for psoting
@Goyer2865, You Dumbo, She's different and most people like different go put some pants on YOU because you worn that pants since when.... 1998? I thought so.
She has beauty in and on the out side I see her as the most beautiful bird in the world If you think this harmless babe is ugly i would slap you so hard your neighbors would fall down and say 'Ouch' Try me i want somebody to say she's ugly cuz she's NOT shes beautiful! :-")
People cannot deal with their love, their devotion and their trust. Few humans ever measure up to their standards of decency. Oscar, you are beauty beyond understanding.
PBAF is a devastating disease. Living through it is rare. Fortunately she has people who love her and a place to live. So many parrots and cockatoos suffer abuse and live suffering in our world. It is good to be able to shed tears of happiness for Oscar.
this bird is not ugly she is beautiful inside and out and there is no need to feel sad for this bird because she is loved by many. and she is happy :-)
Lots of people have posted asking why she still has feathers on her head. I saw a different clip about her. The reason she plucked all of her feathers out is because the disorder she has causes her skin to be extremely sensitive. She can't bear the irritation of feathers on her body, so she has plucked them all out. Birds use their beaks to pluck out their feathers and the rason she hasn't plucked out the feathers on her head is simply because she can't reach them with her beak.
go birdie ur sooo beautiful........oh and any body who bashes ths vid is much ugleier thn the the bird her self for judging a poor inocent soul so watch wat u say about it peace out!!!!
no matter if they have fethers or noy all birds are great. if any one bad mouths this bird they will BIH for it because she is a great bid like my cockatoo who is the greatest bird ever
I just saw this on tv yesterday. When I first saw Oscar, she kind of freaked me out! It looks like Thanksgiving turkey but with a face. And moving! lol
This bird isn't a feather-plucker, hence "disturbed." It was mentioned that it had PBFD, a disease that birds usually get before they are two years old. It is nothing short of a miracle that it survived into adulthood, as this disease affects the immune system, much like human AIDS.
Hi,my bird is always running from me,I just got him today, how long does it take untill he will become use to me? He runs away unless i have millet, wich is frustrating me,help!!
Don't chase!! Sit quietly near your bird for several days doing something like reading. Then start talking softly. Once your bird is used to that try offering a treat. then see if you can put your hand in the cage. Let your bird adjust to you. He is stressed out in a new place with new people, think about him as a small child with his onw need and will and you will get along better.
I'm sorry if I offend anyone but Cockatoos are TERRIBLE pets. They bond only to 1 person and will attack anyone else. Dunedragon, you have no idea what you are talking about. I got a cockatoo, and it goes to anyone in my family and will never bite. Even when it sees someone he never met b4, he loves that person like it was in the family.
This place is for your opinion of the video, not your personal dumping ground. Before I made a decision to become the companion parent to a Moluccan cockatoo, I did my research. This parrot is just another example of the beauty these birds hold. Surely, if you don't have a clue as to what you are doing, you have the potential to get bit...just like with ANY OTHER ANIMAL. Everything needs their space and when you push your way into it...your gonna get hurt.
I agree with you that Cockys are hard to have as pets, they stress out easily, love routine and can't handle boredom. And, yes, they can flock call seriously loudly twice a day. Most people who purchase Cockys as pets think they can handle it untill their lifestyle changes. These birds can live to be +100. if you don't want kids, work short hours and never want to travel - get a Cocky!
But this bird isn't a plucker. If she were she would have all her head feathers.
if you don´t knwo it´s a cockatoo you could think a chicken is dancing...but yeah i think she dances better than many people do...she´s got the rythym inside...:)
she is adorable!!! i have a medium sulpher crested cockatoo and wouldnt change her for the world! its great to see that this bird wasnt given up on! 12 years when given 6months? goes to show!!! excellent video!! xx
My cocoatoo was like that years ago but it was from abuse. I got her now and she is a loving well adjusted spoiled brat. It breaks my heart to see a bird like that but she cant help it.
how can they say that poor cockatoo is ugly?! I am a bird owner, i have a sun conure, but still this is sad. Keep on dancin' Oscar, don't let haters keep you down, You're pretty in my eyes.
Cockatoos are nice but if they climb on your back they are hard to get off of you. Maybe they should make a bird sweater for him. That is if you can get it on without it clipping off your fingers.
Whenever I see this video, I want to buy Oscar a little jacket or something. She's got to be chilly. Plus it would make her dancing even more awesome.
She's so pretty! I just love her! Not that i would wish that on any other bird, but Oscar seems to have gotten used to not having feathers. Now i see how my cockatiels look like without their feathers ;)
Like human, don't just a book by it's cover. I think Oscan is beautiful, sweet, and most awesome! Also the funniest creature I've ever seen! LOVE HIM!
I love Oscar, she's great and this humane society is great for keeping her. She's living proof that a bird doesn't need feathers to be awesome.. AND that we need to find a cure for PBFD.
I just hope the shelter warns those who come in about how contagious PBFD is. If this news reporter left and came in contact with another parrot without changing her clothes and showering, that next parrot might have been exposed. If they do do that, good on them. :)
Oscar is a beautiful bird. It's a shame so many people may not get past her appearance for something she can't help, to she what an amazing avain she is! Her dancing was awesome :)

I think she's beautiful! Just because she doesn't have feathers doesn't make her any less of a bird. She's great! And doesn't let her disease ruin her personality!! Way to go Oscar!
Oscar rocks! My little ringneck passed away of beak and feather disease when he was less than a year old. We gave him the best life we could! Kudos to you at the Broward Humane Society for giving Oscar a great life!
By the way, the breeder who sold us our lefty has been put out of business in Okeechobee Florida. Beak and Feather disease is more common than you think!

I'd like to see someone showing off their sick child: "Hello, this is my son. He has cancer and that's why he doesn't have any hair. Everybody thinks he's ugly but we think he's awesome. We call him The sexy son". Poor birds illness is turned to a freak show. How sad and stupid.
i know! It's so sad! Why would ANYBODY say that to a beautiful creature such as oscar. and STOP LAUGHING YOU SICK SOB! sorry that dude on the news makes me P.O'd...
"WHO's uglier (whateva) or oscar!?" omg those people are heartless......
Uh, cancer does not make you lose your hair, it's chemotherapy that does that.
Take a look at the other comments. How many people do you see pointing and laughing? Everything thinks Oscar's awesome. Don't see many people saying "That bird's a freak".
I have a cockatoo and shes a girl called rocky shes 32, and her belly is bald cause she keeps pluckin out her feathers shes been like that for 20 years. i have a video up on here too shes lush.

I think she's beautiful! Just because she doesn't have feathers doesn't make her any less of a bird. She's great! And doesn't let her disease ruin her personality!! Way to go Oscar!

it looks a little goofy. perhaps God's sublte way to show you that you are committing murder when you eat animals :)
pray for oscar to be healthy.
maybe it should have a little suit so it doesn't get cold without the feathers

Oscar rocks! My little ringneck passed away of beak and feather disease when he was less than a year old. We gave him the best life we could! Kudos to you at the Broward Humane Society for giving Oscar a great life!
By the way, the breeder who sold us our lefty has been put out of business in Okeechobee Florida. Beak and Feather disease is more common than you think!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I'd like to see someone showing off their sick child: "Hello, this is my son. He has cancer and that's why he doesn't have any hair. Everybody thinks he's ugly but we think he's awesome. We call him The sexy son". Poor birds illness is turned to a freak show. How sad and stupid.

shut up. she's a beautiful bird and if you can't see that then you can leave the planet.
anguaa 3 years ago 4
i know! It's so sad! Why would ANYBODY say that to a beautiful creature such as oscar. and STOP LAUGHING YOU SICK SOB! sorry that dude on the news makes me P.O'd...
"WHO's uglier (whateva) or oscar!?" omg those people are heartless......
Emerald21Penguins 3 years ago 4

Uh, cancer does not make you lose your hair, it's chemotherapy that does that.
Take a look at the other comments. How many people do you see pointing and laughing? Everything thinks Oscar's awesome. Don't see many people saying "That bird's a freak".
Here's to a long and glorious life, Oscar. :)
