  • Who trivia: Dr Who was originally 'infotainment', using time travel to teach history & science. That's why his first sidekicks were a history teacher & a science teacher (& his human grandaughter)

  • at 1:26 you can see some writing dont no if its meant be theree

  • @XnarutoXcrazyX, what are you on about? T HE DOCTOR IS REAL!!!!!! =D

  • William Hartnell THE Doctor.

  • everyone at the bbc cshould be ashamed that many of the original episodes were destroyed in a fit of space saving fervor and lost forever. Shame on you bbc for destroying such wonderful pieces of entertainment history.

  • @Iwantedtoknow16802 This is so true! But at least all the Lost TV Episodes of Doctor Who are still available on CD and are not fully Lost in time forever!

  • @Iwantedtoknow16802 at least the Lost TV Epiodes are still available to listen to on CD & not fully lost in time & space forever!

  • i love how the song always stays very simaller and u can always know its still very the same,im so glad they brought it back even tho i dont watch the old ones too old style for me,corny effects thats why its good they brought it back things could have been done better and now they are,at 17 its a lot easier to look at

  • The Five Faces Of Doctor Who, I remember when this was aired on the 2/11/81. I was 15 on the Thursday of that week. Happy days.

  • Thus begins the epic journey of The Doctor! RIP William Hartnell.

  • i love doctor who! but i really wish he were real! haha

  • @XnarutoXcrazyX What hes not real! jk jk I'm 13 and love doctor who when I was 8-9 I always hoped that I could be the doctors companion! it'd be awesome!

  • @XnarutoXcrazyX i dont, or i would be dead because of the dalek invasion in 2008

  • @XnarutoXcrazyX I don't. I have A+ blood.

  • @XnarutoXcrazyX how do you know he's not?

  • i love the music, brings back memories, when i was young my dad would put it on

  • lol the first 1 is sand =S

  • i love how they kept the same music all the way through because on onther tv programmes they sometimes tchange the music each series and it just ruins it!

  • I like this one it's kl

  • I know this sounds Corny.

But i think this is the best opening of a movie or series ever.

  • omg my mum watched this when she was a kid lol

  • That is one of the best intro sequences I know of. Short and to the point, with that immensely effective lingering music tying things together.

And I'm not even being nostalgic - I live somewhere they never aired the classic series, so I only noticed Dr. Who a few years ago.

  • I have an original recording of the Hartnell and Troughton themes in full without sound effects how they were originally recorded. Cool video.

  • Imagine how shitted-up viewers of that first episode would have been when they first heard that title music!

  • What a thoroughly wonderful treat! Murky as hell and perfect for that very reason.

  • waa whoooaa waa waaaaaa*break glass beside me*.

  • LOL I do that for the theme song too o.o i sound so wierd and my sisters like *Shakes Head*

  • hiiiii iiiiiiimmmmmmmm yyyyyooooooouuuuuuur ssssssmmalllllllllllleeeeeeeeessst ffaaaaannnnn!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssss!

  • perhaps someone can post the thunderclap version on here.. it's available on HARTNELL THE EARLY YEARS!!!!

  • old but good

  • I remember watching the first episode a few years ago on PBS. It was nice to see where it first began.

  • classic!

  • I think it feels a bit creepier than Troughton's titles... And they are even simplier.

  • Its kind of creepy lol, i can see why at the time it scared people, i love the dr who now, but i think cos its in colour it doesn't seem quite so eerie.

  • Oh please this was the first transmission and we are lucky to have the pilot stop being so human

  • dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum wooo-ooo ect.

  • Oh yes! The Five Faces of Doctor Who!!! I loved this season of repeats in Nov and Dec 1981. It was the first time i was able to see the first and second Doctor's, it was a big TV mowment for me.

  • *applause*

  • I like this one it's kl

  • But the pilot was never aired (officially, at least) ;)

  • just being a bit nerddy here.

that was not the first ever Doctor title Sequence.

The first one on the pilot episode (almost an identical ep to this one) has a thunder clap noise in it.

  • They took that theme out because it was too frighening.
