I wanted to set it up because Nintendo never did support achievements on the Wii or the Wii U for the first time. I never actually see someone set up their own achievements on youtube.
See, without Nintendo the ps3 and the xbox 360 probably wouldnt even exist, Nintendo was basically the messiah of gaming. They brought back the innovation and showed us what gaming was all about. I blame Jack Tremeil, for when he came into power he could had canceled the Atari 5200, slowed down the Atari 2600, and really had pushed forward the Atari 7800.
If crappy games and overabundance of crappy games was one of the major causes of the crash and the console makers added lockouts to control what kind of games could be put out.

QUALITY CONTROL
Look at the end of the Atari 2600. There was no quality control whatsoever, anyone and everyone could make and sell any game, and that contributed HEAVILY to what we know as the Gaming Crash. Did Nintendo look like a bunch of douches doing what they did? Yeah, maybe, but it was necessary. They didn't want to end up like Atari, and as a result saved gaming from certain death.

The nebulous decentralized nature of PC hardware and software development is what I believe will save it.. and The PC can do ANYTHING the consoles can do faster and better, not JUST shooters, but family games as well were there a market for them. Wireless controllers work on PCs (kinect works on PC now) And they will run on your HD tv with a keyboard and mouse or wireless controller or remote.

Activision created the concept of a third-party developer.
It's unbelievably ironic that the very thing that Activision was created for, to give individual programmers credit and recognition, is completely stomped on in today's Activision, which is ruled by "Release it now, it better sell millions, or you're fired."

If crappy games and overabundance of crappy games was one of the major causes of the crash and the console makers added lockouts to control what kind of games could be put out.

QUALITY CONTROL
Look at the end of the Atari 2600. There was no quality control whatsoever, anyone and everyone could make and sell any game, and that contributed HEAVILY to what we know as the Gaming Crash. Did Nintendo look like a bunch of douches doing what they did? Yeah, maybe, but it was necessary. They didn't want to end up like Atari, and as a result saved gaming from certain death.

@gamephreak5 Yes but nintendo tried to monopolize the market and succeeded for a few years. There was no reason to not allow 3rd party companies to release product on other consoles or the pc. Because of that sega's master system which was vastly superior graphically to the nes could never get off of the ground. Nintendo came in, made all the 3rd party companies flock to them then blocked them with an iron fist from being able to get their product put on anything but nintendo. Never happen today

You know, watching this suddenly puts in perspective what is wrong with games now, starting about 5 years ago. History is repeating itself again. The only platform I can see surviving in the long term is PCs. Propietary business and technology models only work for so long before they destroy themselves from greed.

The nebulous decentralized nature of PC hardware and software development is what I believe will save it.. and The PC can do ANYTHING the consoles can do faster and better, not JUST shooters, but family games as well were there a market for them. Wireless controllers work on PCs (kinect works on PC now) And they will run on your HD tv with a keyboard and mouse or wireless controller or remote.
