  • Growing just as sick of nationalistic "Norway Ftw" Comments aswell as skyrim comments. The guys in Iskald are great artist, not because of the fact that they are from Norway, but because of the fact that they were born epic.

  • This, plus Skyrim= Twice the badassery

  • @Forbiddensirenz srsly, fuck all your Skyrim comments

  • I normally dont listen to black metal, but this is so original and amazing!

  • bass drum sound is annoying, does'nt sound organic enough.

  • norge ftw

  • The only black metal song I can think of that I like. No wait, LOVE.

  • @SpidahRidah Black metal is so diversified, I'm sure u'll find more than 1 that u'll like ;)

  • I really like this album; I've periodically jammed it on youtube over the past year, n have tried to find it to purchase but cant...

(i followed the link above awhile back in the page didn't come up)

idk, i will figure it out hahaha

  • winter tune!

  • Religion is so last year....

  • fantastic

  • I'm not really that into black metal...what with talk of "tr0 black metal", "kvlt" and "hail Satan, my soul is dark and full of ancient Viking fury!"...Laughable.

...But I have to say, this here is a delicious, frosty slab of metal goodness! Glad that I stumbled upon it on this balmy New York evening. :D

  • @LittleMissHeathen

The idea that all Black Metal is satanic is very ignorant. While it might have been largely like that in the early 90's, it is not the case anymore.

Lots of Black Metal bands have non-satanic lyrics. A popular subject is nature and the winter season.

Check out bands like Myrkgrav, Vordven, Enslaved, Immortal, Embraced, Crimson Moonlight, Arvinger, Antestor, Obtained Enslavement etc. for some non-satanic Black Metal. (some is Ambient, Symphonic or Folk/Black Metal)

  • @WolfieboyMachi You do have a point but you also have to take note that most of those Black Metal bands wouldn't be around if it weren't for bands like Burzum, Mayhem, Marduk, Gorgoroth, Dark Funeral or Satyricon. Not to mention the fact that pretty much every Black Metal band wears an inverted cross, pentagram, triquetra or Mjlonir necklace; and the spikes, bullet belts, corpsepaint and combat boots is still the signature look of all Black Metal bands... which originated from the Satanic bands.

  • @HoHoMeTickle

I'd say the Mjölnir is by far the most common, at least among the scandinavian bands.

But the Mjölnir isn't a satanic symbol at all, only a pagan symbol.

And even so, while the big wigs like Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir wear them, pentagrams and inverted crosses aren't THAT common anymore...

But of course, Black Metal is generally non/anti-christian.

As for the spikes, they originated with Judas Priest, with Rob Halford.

Bullet belts and the boots are from Thrash and Death Metal.

  • @WolfieboyMachi I know, I didn't say it was. Then again most of the churches that were burnt down weren't in the name os Stan but were done by a bunch of devoted fans and musicians who put their Pagan beliefs into action... Judas Priest helped, but they were nowhere near as big of an influence on Black Metal as Bathory and Venom were. The bullet belts and combat boots were actually a trademark of those bands and the originators of Black Metal based their look off of them.

  • @LittleMissHeathen Actually who are wrong little Missy Trve Black Metal is where its at,this aint shite.

  • @LittleMissHeathen Well I get what you're saying LMH. Glad you like it. Come back and play it again on a New York evening that is cold and frosty and more suitable for this kind of tune. Stumble upon more good music in the future. Don't let the precious black metallers put you off. We ALL know it's not about satanism. Skal!

  • @LittleMissHeathen Your fucking laughable.

  • @LittleMissHeathen Satan and Vikings are related in no way... Vikings worship Odin and the Aesir...

    Leave black metal to norway.

  • @LazrTears ummm, leave BM to Norway? Try Sweden if you want spiritual Satanic shit! Like Watain, Marduk, Ofermod, Nefandus, enz. Or are you afraid?

    Hail Satan!

PS if any of you punks try to be clever on me, I don't give a fuck

  • @Lunhyver hahaha afraid? youre weird nigga. hail satan? dude that fool will rip your face off and wipe his ass with it. he doesnt give a shit about you, me or anyone. pfffttt...youre better off "hailing" a turd.

  • @Lunhyver You have no fucking idea what black metal is. The shit you mentioned isn't worthy of being called black metal. Pfft, Marduk... Try Ulver Burzum and Darkthrone, you soft-bellied swede.

  • Fucking amazing. i love this.

    <3<3<3

  • <333333333

  • Great Song.

  • Damn, personally i dislike the monotonous feeling i get with some black metal, but this...this is just so dinamic, atmospheric and interesting

  • A great song from one of the best Blackmetal-Bands ever......Phenomenal !!!!

  • i prefered the first album, this one seems more black metal than melodic.

  • Iskald is Norwegian for Ice-Cold ;)

  • I love this Song!!! a Great Band

  • Awesome

  • JÆVLA JÆVLA JÆVLA BRA !!!!

  • Great stuff

  • Skååål!

  • But what the hell?! The riff around 1:42 is in MAJOR!! How can Black Metal be written in major? Well its a good song nonetheless. Just dont like that major part.

  • Exactly... Second chord should be a half step lower and it would be just fine:)

  • Yeah that would dramatically change it :P

That happy part just doesnt fit in with the melancholic rest of the song.

  • Fucking awesome.

  • Ekte norsk svart metall!

    HAIL ISKALD!

  • i will call this melodic black metal...

    great song!

  • hail from quebec!!!!

  • I love it! Greetings from Žilina (Slovakia).

  • nice,nice nice....

Ganske bra faktisk.

  • good...cazzo se bravi...minkia...

  • For all. The band themselves said they'd do melodic extreme Metal... Well, at least you don't have to argue about wether it's MeloDeath, or MeloBlack, or Black Metal...

  • Nice Band i love this song

    Black Metal Forever

  • Good Black Metal xD Love this song ^^

    Black Meta Power

    Hails to Iskald!!

  • its pagan/black if you want to know... but nevertheless best bands have they own specific music so best band are hardly classable to some genre..

  • this is the goods lol

  • WOW WOW ...beautiful...so cold...they are great!!!

  • wow

    this is awesome!

  • This is a very good song. ^^

  • Well, it's a great band, but it's NOT Black Metal, actually it's MeloDeath, or if you want meloBlack....

  • "Iskald represents ice cold and crystal clear black metal from the land of the midnight sun. Iskald shrines like aurora borealis on the northern black metal hemisphere. Hailing from Sortland in the northern part of Norway, Iskald have crafted out what will most likely stand out as a future classic within the genre." - taken fron their website. it doesn't say anywhere about melo-death or melodic black metal, just "black metal"

  • wow, the vocals :O some of the coolest black metal vocals ive heard ;)

  • they dont consider themselves black, but blackened extreme with a "twist" of trash. :P

i think my favourite black-vocal would be the second "light destroys what dark creates" on Limbonic Arts Suicide Commando from the Ultimate Death Worship album. that is just pure awesome-ness. ;)

  • hehe, your right there. i`ve start listen to them only a few weeks ago.

I like Abbaths wocals in Immortal ;)

  • Dont forget about Hat (old gorgoroth) and Nargaroth... pure amazingness

  • ofcourse. taake`s is great too

  • And ulver and oldschool behemoth kampfar and burzum.

  • nais !

  • I dont think its black metal cause the music is to epic. i think its morge melo death^^

  • norwegian black metal rocks period !! \m/ ô.ô \m/

  • Not bad, always nice to hear some new stuff in the rather traditionally driven BM scene.

  • i love the guitars. nice song

  • Black Metal rulez !!

  • hell yeah TRUE NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL!
