I guess it could have been worse, they could have pulled a pair of training wheels out for you.
Watching this reminds me of when i was twelve and my friend let me try his dirtbike out.He didn't tell me how to stop you know pull the clutch and lightly step on the brakes. He just said release the clutch and yank on the gas and off i went into his parents garden.
Oh man! I hope you had a lot of body armor on! That looks kinda fun and difficult! Is that an 80cc? I want to try dirt bikes... But on the dirt, not rocks!
@surfbaybe I left my upper body armor in my truck, but most of my boo boos were on my legs. I'm gonna be more prepared next time. Skill wise and armor wise :) The Honda I rode was a 150cc bike. Very heavy! I rode on a nice dirt trail prior to these harder trails that I'll upload in a bit. It's called the Perimeter Trail.
Awwwww, poor Misa! I feel sowwy for you, getting all banged up! Those pesky rocks, and that pesky angle and inertia! Yeah the cranking part... not sure if anyone told you the specifics on that...the underlying idea is to get the piston on top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke. That compression is what makes it hard to start. So you spin the engine slowly until you feel that resistance from the compression. Then give her a whack!
@808yewtube Haha, BASSSSSSTARDS, they are! And dumb as a rock can be! Okay, maybe that is a little dorky. I'd imagine you got the hang of the kick starting a little better already, after a few sessions under your belt! You know, I was wondering, I never really see/hear of you in a [sports] car. LOL. That'll be your next thing to master, a few different types of sports cars, from American muscle to German finesse to Japanese rocket ships. Misa in a suped up Mustang? Hmmmmmm.
hello. Remember when I said this:? "You might find that your body can take more than you thought and you might even not care and also, the views are soooooo pretty when you can ride to the top of a big hill or mountain where no on else can go run on sentence run on sentence rabble rabble rabble :D" Haha!
Look at these guys!! Starting your bike, and even dressing you....lol. If that were me they would ride away and laugh!! Of course if I was there with you, I would start your bike and dress you too, so I guess I can't complain.
my mountain bike experience ridding with pro's on ice helped me a lot with my klr 650.
i recommend acting like your on ice wen ridding on rock's! stay perfectly centered and light! i also recommend practicing ridding standing up! the bike wont fall has fast, wen standing up you are more prepared for anything... make sure to sit wen your not sure!! both have its advantages! loll peace good ridding!
@bakker46 I got a humongous bruise on my leg bigger than the size of my hand! I don't remember which fall caused it though, there were sooo many falls, hahaha!
LOL! Out of breath a lil bit ? Great exercise isn't it :P LOVE seeing DiRTY getting spread about :) I couldn't quite see BUT... If you was coasting on them downhills i'm gonna slap that clutch hand!!! You took some big spills there, you're a tough cookie... tho still a QUEEN for having all the guys start your bike and do up the buckles on your boots... LMAO
@funkiershit haha, but I could have sworn I was buckled up!!! Honest! *drops handkerchief* I was out of breath and out of shape, lol! It was a tremendous effort to be whipping a bike about over rocks and hills whereas it takes a lot less effort to ride a street bike!
I have always had more fun in the dirt than I have ever had on the street. Usually you are doing something illegal to be having as much fun on the street.
It looks like you're doing a decent job for your first dirt ride. My first time out I crashed a lot. Now I only crash a few times each trip. The best thing to remember is to be smooth with brake and throttle input. No sudden movements. Sometimes the front wheel will get caught in a rut or dip or something and just go where it wants to. You kinda just have to go with it and try to gently correct it. Sometimes you just have to face the fact that you're about to eat a bush. That sounded nasty! :)
@kryten This is actually my second time. My first time was in New Zealand, and this time was on my home turf. I crashed a lot on this day. You will see. ;)
@RC62 I totally jinxed myself didn't I? But I was so amazed that I didn't fall over the rocks, the bike was doing this crazy dance over them and somehow I managed to stay on and I think in amazement I kinda let down my guard, lol
nice :) look at you getting all the attention from the men, one kickstarting your bike, the other picking it up, i'd do the same if you rode with us but i'd quickly start calling you queenie :D great that you are trying this tho, every days a school day so will help with your road riding also, pretty sure it helps with mine :) great video!
@danmoto73 I know, I know! Could you make that "Miss Durty Queenie"? I seriously need to get in better shape. I was so exhausted, I had no qualms about asking for help. So shameless, hehe! But yeah, plus too I must have looked pretty pathetic and they were taking pity on me, and it wasn't just the guys :)
@808yewtube you were awesome for having a go, it is exhausting (something many don't realise when they watch dirtbike vids, they assume its just like riding street), you didn't look pathetic at all, you were ace...
Yeah 808 you have to be rough on a dirk bike and grab it by the nuts and say your mine baby lol, i used to ride motocross back in the 80's when i was a teen and i loved it. Now i just chill on my 650 road bike.
@thatmanfromyorkshire Dirt bikes are so physically tiring! Glad I got a taste of it though. Street biking is definitely "chilling" in comparison to dirt biking, LOL
i love the pidgeon!!!!hahaha, but poorting you when u fall down, huffin an puffn..lol..speed up a bit so if u hit something like a rock u just bounce over it...great job sis...u did great, nice to see a girl gettin in to it, down and dirty...two tumbs up on this vid...
@chad50811 Chad, I'm so out of shape!! LOL! Haha, I laughed pretty hard when the pidgin started to come out. I am born and raised here but yeah...I understand it better than I speak it, like any other language, haha!
good thing that bike is made out of rubbermaid haha. Rocks are tough but, balance and power over them and keep ur weight back or butt back slightly. Keep a firm command on the handle bars and tug back with power on throttle when crossing rocks. I usually wheelie over the rocks ..don't slow or nose dive when going over baseball sized rocks. The front wheel on a bike can be tricky. It takes time to master ur doing fine. Props for getting back on. Happy Riding! ;-D
@aaadream Thanks for the tips and support! Being a street bike rider, rocks pretty much spell the end, lol, but not in dirt bike land! It's a whole different world!
@808yewtube May I ask is that ur bike or borrowed? I would suggest maybe a smaller lighter bike until ur pro ;) I am guessing u are petite size ;-D I would look @ 90-100cc something where u can put both feet on the ground while seated and hold up easy. Your right ...street and dirt are different but, it will make u a better rider to do both. Watch the front brake on or off road around loose dirt or gravel. Use rear brake first and small amount of front brake for panic stop. ;-D
@aaadream It is borrowed. My new dirt friends have already started suggesting bikes for me, lol! They are thinking something a little lighter with an electric start, hahahaha! I tried the Kawasaki 110 afterwards (but not on a trail) I could easily touch down on both sides but the pegs felt really high...and the bike felt too small (if that's possible) haha! so maybe something a little bigger but lowered.
@808yewtube If you want a hard core dirt bike I can't suggest anything but if you want a street legal dual sport bike I think a Yamaha XT 250 would be perfect for you. It has electric start. Its has a low seat but still has decent ground clearance. It's very light so you could probably pick it up pretty easily. It's also very cheap so if you dump it a lot it wont matter much. Then again the low seat and light weight means you shouldn't crash as much to begin with.
@808yewtube Sounds like a good plan. After riding a big bike smaller bikes seem really small ;) I would look for a borrowed bike until u get more comfortable or maybe a used bike that u can sell or trade once u find the perfect fit. There are lowering kits for most bikes that will help. I think 80-100cc is plenty to start with and still have some power depending on how comfortable u feel. Happy Riding!
@sam92teg There were times when I wanted to lay down and take a rest. I purposely fell off so i could catch a few seconds of snooze, hahaha :) Thanks for the props, Sam
Dirt is rough. Eventually your desire to not lift up your bike will over come your fear of the hills and rocks. Usually being timid on stuff like that is an invitation to fall.
@halfthrottle I totally hear you on that. I've been looking at my footage and I saw that a split second hesitation usually caused me to fall! You really just have to go for it!
@khanhneeboi I can tell you one thing. I have NEVER laughed whenever I fell off my street bike. But I laughed pretty dang hard at some of my dirt bike falls!
Just a thought. Have you ever gone Mnt biking in rocks like that? Great practice for the dirt bike riding. Actually harder. Its good you laugh and deal with the learning part. Enjoy......
@lavapix I've only done the downhill mountain biking once and there was a lot of areas of loose dirt, but not that much rocks! I really enjoyed it but wow, those bikes cost more than my motorcycle!
@808yewtube Mnt Bikes don't have to be that expensive. Those were the downhill ones. Better to go up hill on a reg mnt bike and tackle rocks and tree roots. You learn technical riding much quicker. Ride in sand too. Over here on the Big Island everything is rocks. Good Luck.........
