And that night I begged God to show me the evidence and baptize me with the Holy Ghost. Next thing I know heavenly tongues just came rushing out, I found myself jumping out of bed and into the hallways and falling to my knees. I worshipped God for 4 hours straight. Hallelujah Jesus!

Praise God!!!! But remember, the Holy Ghost is NOT all about the tongues, but about the POWER that the Holy Ghost gives you, that's what can explain that "overwhelming"!! POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! power from on high, so don't worry too much about the tongues because that's how a lot of people get messed up and lose it because they let thier flesh get in the way of God's glory, trying to have the best tongue!!

U can't...I wasn't saying that there are no tongues, I was saying that tongues is not the IMPORTANT, VITAL part to the Holy Ghost!!! He's the POWER & comfort Jesus left for us. Tongues is just evidence, a language between u and God. When we begin to focus on the tongues, a lot of us sometimes loose ourselves and become fleshly tryin to have the best tongue...Now it's a different story when it comes to the gift of interpreting tongues, in which case it's all about the tongues!!!!

Tongues do not determine life or death, ur relationship with God does. The Holy Ghost is hear to guide u throughout ur life so that u can have eternal life. I am not against u either, but I know people who have lost the Holy Ghost because they were so stuck on the tongues, and the power is what matters most.Anyone can try and speak in tongues, but have no power. without the power that comes with the Holy Ghost...we would just have the tongues!!

The Holy Ghost is the gift of God, not a loan. It is eternal life to everyone that believe whether dead or alive. And there is absolutely no way - other than speaking in tongues - to confirm this LIFE, according to Scripture.
If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, not shall be a new creature, in spite of his weaknesses. That's the Gospel!

You are correct. Many people are filled with the power of god and the holy ghost and do not speak in tongues. Why? Very simple. Tongues are just one of the many gifts of the spirit. I speak from experience and it is very real.

The Gift of Tongues is one of the many gifts of Spirit. I suggest that you do not go before God in judgment without a Witness - the Holy Ghost - on a hunch of salvation.
The H-G manifests Itself via the mouth of those who are truly filled (by speaking in tongues, Gk "glossa." It is their confession (Gk. homologeitai).

I suggest that you only need love in your heart to come before God. The HG is not even a nesessary requirement. My salvation is not a 'hunch', it is a fact. The HG can manifest in many ways. Sorry but I disagree with your beliefs. I have my own personal proofs.

The Spirit infilling tongues which the bible calls "other tongues" has nothing to do with Spiritual gifts. One cannot have Spiritual gifts w/o the Spirit. E-mail me anything to further discuss this. I once did not really believe in it either.

Rick, thank you for your testimony! That is Great that God manifested His spirit in you with the gift of tongues! I want to encourage everyone out there who has has received the Holy Spirit because of their belief in Jesus who has not spoke in tongues yet to continue to seek that gift as well as all the other gifts especially prophesy! And if you havent spoken in tongues that doesn't mean you cant! and it also doesn't mean that you are any less of a Christian than someone who has! 1 Cor 12

Multitudes will be lost in the end. Many will be disappointed in judgment because their iniquity will not be imputed to the cross of Jesus Christ. All of their works, accomplishments, and worldly prestige will be consumed because of their unrighteous state. It is the state of sin that condemns, not the acts. Church and religious leaders, a like, are leading billions of souls to the ultimate ditch. Build on a rock: tongues the only sign to confirm real salvation.

I think you missed v 13, "Others mocking said, these men are full of new wine." As you can see even from the beginning, Pentecost, some have held your position—doubting the very work of the Holy Ghost.
However in vv 14-17, Peter states, "For these are not drunken, as ye suppose [...] this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel [...] in the last day, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh." Truth stands: to disbelieve is fine, but to reject is a curse.
