There are kangaroos in the park near where I live. The park is next to the bush and I can walk around the corner there and see kangaroos every afternoon. So yes, you can see kangaroos in the suburbs around cities in Australia. Also koalas asleep up in the tall trees.

I used to live in Australia when I was really young, and there are kangaroos, but they don't live in towns or cities. If you want to see one you have to go into the outback, and they usually come out at night, so you have to be really careful. Oh, and occasionally you'll see kangaroo meat at the grocery store, it's kind of gross.

I'm from Australia... Yes kangaroos are just "out there", not just in zoos. But you have to be in the country to see them! Sometimes if you're driving interstate you'll come across a dead one on the road that got hit by a car. They're pretty dangerous, actually... If you get hit by one driving your car is screwed!

@OMGmorganxx3 I studied abroad in Australia, and no they weren't just running around everywhere. We had to go to petting zoos to see them, or out in the bush/outback. Koalas were more common to see along the roads in the trees high up. :)

Where I live in Australia, yeah they kangaroos are just around. more at dusk and dawn. Not in town or anything but on some of the outter edges of town they come in and eat your lawn and you can always see them on the outskirts of town :)

Kangaroos jump around in the bush you wont see them in cities. They eat grass on the side of the road. They have little brains so if they see your car they will jump towards it rather than go the other way. I hit one that jumped out at me from vacant land in the middle of a country town. They move around at dawn and dusk and sleep during the heat of the day.

Definitely do the Ducks Tour! I'm a local and I really want to, but still haven't taken the plunge. While you were in Fremont did you see the Fremont Troll? Creepy thing, but still pretty cool. I've seen some suggestions about the U-District. The only good thing about that area is (in my opinion) the food otherwise I'd avoid it. And you're right about Seattle not giving a crap about pedestrians, especially downtown.

You went to Glo's! YEA!!!! They have really good cinnamon rolly things. (I forget what they're called there!) That place is tiny, and definitely not pretty to look at. The food makes it worth it, though.

I love the Woodland Park Zoo. The gorillas smell really bad, though. My husband and I were laughing about the smell, and the one we were looking at glared at us. He knew we were talking smack! LOL!

Cupcake Royale is good. Trophy Cupcakes is, too!
