try to put the reverb pedal first in the chain instead of at the end of it....right after your guitar ......you'll be impressed by the sound specially the attack and tone ...
@mewsic156 Spring reverb has a splashy springy sound to it, mostly associated with surf music. 2:32 is a good example of the spring reverb sound, but try searching for videos featuring Movin' by The Astronauts as an example of the spring reverb sound.
@1979jppc check out the Danelectro sprin king. i't is a reverb unit with a real spring! cost's about 100 dollars. there are a few demo video's on youtube check em' out if you want to
@idwtsasoj - Travato is a highly paid sought after session guy for country, rockabilly... that stuff. But his blues in this video NAILS "Crosscut Saw" by Albert King...with a bit of "Frosty" by Albert Collins. Search Youtube for "saw"... I think you'll see he got it right.
If you knew anything about guitars you'll see Trevado is playing a Suhr Tele and then a G&L Legacy - both are quality guitars, the Suhr in particular is probably twice the guitar a Fender is.
@elvis8burgers I can imagine you're right. I have a PRS Cstm 22 and its playability blows away any fender I've ever seen. I haven't played custom shop fenders but off the rack just don't match up.
this guy didn't play surf music. The Best reverb is included in the Fender amps like my blues deville. If you need a tremolo buy a Danelectro pedal cheap price and good sound.
@Fenderfan171 Actually its a Boss pedal and- it is a better demo with Suhr guitars rather than Fender Strats and Teles. . It gives a better idea of how the pedal actually performs. The pedals are great as they actually get the classic "Fender" tone and fender sound out of non - Fender guitars. I am a blues player and I love the classic blues tone and sustain this pedal gets on the Suhr... It will be way better on my Strat
It is a Suhr guitar. Much better builds than some cheap piece of wood with a fender logo. Stop buying brand names, Americans. Come on, even Jimi Hendrix burned his fender.
@Fenderfan171 I'can't read what it's written on the neck but the shape looks like a G&L Leo Fender Telecaster designed so if it I don't mistake, this guitar is perhaps more Fender than a "today" Fender ^^ .
Nice pedal, I think..... when more than one pedal is combined in a demo, it's hard to tell exactly which you are hearing.. IMHO, pedal demos should be made by playing one pedal into a clean amp so you can judge the sound of the single pedal. It would be OK to combine with other pedals as part of the demo, but it should always be made clear what you are listening to. Just my two cents. Great playing on this demo in any case.
it's quite easy to tell the difference. the frv-1 is a reverb pedal so just listen to the difference in the reverb. the frv-1 does not interact or alter the tone of your guitar's sound or character. so don't listen to the equalization of the guitar or the over-drive reference of it.
^^ Yeah, I had to send back my FDR pedal. It was horrible for those drip/splash/sproings. They were random and crashing into my notes. It was like it came with its own drunk kicking your reverb tank. Anything above 1/4 level was unusable and therefore ineffective. I liked the tone okay and the trem was quite good, but on my unit at least, the reverb was a disaster. I hope they got it right on this model. I'd buy it right out, but I'm scared after my last Boss spring reverb experience.
Steve Trovato is such a great guy and an amazing guitarist, very humble and such a guitar God! He can switch from blues to rock and roll to rockabilly and country in less than a second !! By the way the pedal is great !!
The FDR pedal has lots of drip - only nobody seems to like that aspect of them... I'm still going to check it out as I've not found a rugged pedal to stick into my reverb-less valve amps
I'm currently seeking one of these. Had a Premier tube spring reverb tank (was noisy crap), and the reverb on my Vox Ac-15 TB ain't too hot.

FRV 1 it's just the reverb sound effect or the whole amp sound simulation?
I think the FRD 1 pedal simulates completely the amp sound, but not sure.
I'd like to have just the reverb effect for a fender pro junior which not have reverb at all
which one I should get? thanx
