MRI is not a substitue for certain pathology. In my opinion, CT is much more versatile. It is faster and patients tend to prefer it for this reason. Scans typically take only a couple minutes so it is much more practical for trauma patients. Don't get me wrong, CT is an exremely useful tool. It is just over utilized.

MRI does not use radiation.
