this song explains the fact that money definitely does not mean happiness, i think happiness comes from inside, without money i have the best days of my life
@thespiralgoeson I think I am a pretty openminded metalhead. I have no problem with a band taking a different approach. I actually liked Load to be honest.
I don't hate this album because it's softer, I hate it because the songs suck IMO.
I am suprised at how many fans of Megadeath never even knew this album existed. Not talking the far extreme wack job fans. But the guys like my buddies that have ALL their old stuff.
I played this a few months ago and my buddy asked if it was new and when did it come out? I told him ten plus years ago. He found that hard to believe. I bought it in Kuwait in '03. Glad I saw it.
the song is a standout of Megadeth's discography in that it features a considerably lighter melody than most of their work. Its lyrics describe a poor man with no money or possessions to call his own (although the line "sniffing up the white lines" suggests he has access to cocaine)." Dancing on the breadline" seems to insinuate that due to his cocaine use, he is happy regardless of being poor , "losing his lifeline" however is obviously pointing to the fact that it will eventually kill him.
This is kind of mellow for Dave & the Deth. But the best thing is it still very much ROCKS hard! That's more than what I can say for most if not all of today's so called rock music. Only few remain.
This is a different side of Dave. I think he needed to mellow out a bit during his 'Daddy' years, but these days he's definitely bringing back the 'Deth' to his music. This song should have gotten more airplay.

I understand that metal lovers like harder music. But, you have to admit, this IS a great fucking tune. Admit it, it is.
