  • get it together grouch ...get a job grouch....thumbs up if learned how to treat bums from oscar!

  • He sounds like Cheech Marin when he sings!

  • reminds me of R2D2

  • i can't hear it at all....

  • WTF?

  • EVERY DAY HE'S SHUFFLING

  • back when the didnt try to cram so much education down kids throats.

  • 1:37 why are they staring at the camera?

  • Who was portraying the walking Oscar?

  • RIP. Matt Robinson (Gordon 1), Will Lee (Mr Hooper), And Northern J. Calloway (David)

  • I love that he's singing these old standards from inside his trash can. Priceless.

  • turtle heads = turds

  • @kirk92270 LMAO

  • Turtle head collection?!

  • RIP Will Lee 1908-1982 Matt Robinson 1937-2002 and Northern Calloway 1948-1990

  • @BayareaGuy06 Yep, all three of those guys have since passed on. Sad.

  • I can think of a few other times he was seen walking in his can, besides the times mentioned here already. When Danny Devito wanted his trashcan for his museum and he walked away with him (later airings of this skit cut that scene) and another time is in the opening theme that was used from 1992-1998

  • I remember. I just watched it for the first time since that day. (here on youtube)

I see now thats how I learned about Death. The sequence where tha Bird brings pics and learns what

death means. I remembered it the entire time.... only not until it was being shown.... weird sorta de'javu.

Oscar is a strange sort of delusional crack-head. But like big bird's "imaginary" friend Mr. snuff. Oscar actually did own and could produce his processions from his trash can. He found a kinda secret to life

  • @trevox007 Uh Suffy was never imaginary.

He was just not seen by the adults.

  • oh, Mr. Hooper. Do you remember that episode when he died?

  • @shannagirl11

I remember when it used to be up on You Tube. But then it got taken down. I have no idea why.

  • Wonder what was the inspiration the writers had for the fictional football characters Gordon was mentioning?

    Sounds like football.

  • this gordan u see on this clip is not the real bald headed gordan we know today.. this gordan is MATT ROBINSON. he was on for a couple of years then the other gorden who we know today replaced matt Robinson (the gordan u see here) i think that Matt Robinson passed away from cancer.

  • anyone remebre Bruno the trash man . He would carry oscar around town .

  • I remember him :)

  • @brandoncipelle Yes! That was hilarious!

  • weird seeing Gordon with hair

  • I love how they were all like "what the heck?" when they first spotted Oscar walking like that, I'd probably be the same way if I saw a traveling trash can with fuzzy green legs and a scratchy voice scat-singing inside. LOL

  • I saw that when it first aired, and haven't seen it since (until now). I loved it then, and now!

  • Taken from episode 0276, the season 3 (1971-1972) premiere, which was originally broadcasted on November 8, 1971.

  • Isn't thant nik nak in there?

  • A turtle head collection!! Hahaha

Oscar is such a pack rat

  • @GetFeisty Turtle heads & fish heads! The grouch knows his severed animal heads, that's for sure!

  • @SpukiTheLoveKitten75 I can understand why there would be fish heads in the trash can, but why would there be turtle heads in there? He looks like a turtle wearing that can.

  • @DontTread0nMe1776 I dunno, why are there pet elephants & pigs in there?

  • he dos enot walk very fast

  • Oscar forever!!!!

  • this was from Episode 276

  • I wonder who is actually walking in Oscar's legs there?

  • It is Hervé Villechaize.

  • Pause at 0:37 - you can see part of Oscar outside of his can!

  • @SenhorBundy Oh yeah.... his back is sticking out of the side of the can. Odd.

  • @SenhorBundy spoil sport!

  • I can say that this is the very First time that Oscar walked down the Street.

  • That's not the only time that he's walked in his trash can. The only other time I remember that happing was in the original Christmas episode.

  • and the Hawaii episodes

  • He walked in his can in a lot of episodes! There was even a song where he jogged in it. I thought that was so cool. Why was that Bruno introduced to carry his can?

  • I read that they introduced Bruno when the started the Sesame Live shows so that Carroll Spinney could still perform as Oscar.
