You have to have people like cm punk or hbk even randy orton carry him in the ring. there's a lot of wwe wrestlers who have 1 or the other like mysterio, evan bourne, mason ryan, who are good to watch in the ring but have zero personality. just bring back the attitude era. the cm punk storyline will end at summer slam after that is boring wwe again
Bitter old man. For those who don't know, Flair ripped High Spots off some money and only recently paid it back. I believe he'd used the NWA title as a deposit on the cash they gave him. Of all the people in wrestling, only Hulk Hogan and the Iron Sheikh talk more shit than this dude
guys question. we all know ric aged, but look at a pic of him in 2002 and he still had his original face, look at him in 2003, especially after his driving incident and his face just changed and got bloated. was he on roids that year or did he get botox? most fans denied both and just called it age but you don't age that bad in just ONE year. if you don't believe me look for yourself, in 200 when he was fueding with vince then look at him with evolution in 2003 and after.
As big as Ric is, its sad he had to get a loan from Highspots. Whats worse? He hasn't even paid it back! Its just sad seeing one of your heroes get wrapped up in so much trouble.
The reason that Ric is still around is based only on money. He wanted to retired with WWE, but wrestling was his job and he didn't save his money well at all. Several divorces, buying fast cars, and buying expensive alcohol adds up. He may literally die in the ring. I feel terrible that my Ric Flair and my six year old cousins Ric Flair are two completely different people. I see The Nature Boy, he sees this old fat orange guy yelling jibberish and gushing blood from his forehead.

Back in the 70's 80's and 90's it was party time. and I think ric never thoguht the party would end, add to that the divorces, spending all his cash, endless whores that were really expensive, private jets, and the stock market crash. it jsut ate up all his cash.
Flair didn't take opportunities outside of wrestling either; like he was cutting down Funk for making movies, saying he's not good enough to wrestle him etc; it was one of those "Truth in Television" things where he had contempt for people who left wrestling to go into movies and making money on the side as "sellouts."
Then he goes and ends up a pauper because he couldn't or wouldn't do it himself, thinking that wrestling was a gold-mine or a "noble poor-man's profession" etc.
@SovereignStatesman It's a really sad story overall. In terms of Funk specifically, look at where Funk and Flair are in their lives. Funk is obviously the winner there.
Funk, Piper, Hogan, just about every star of Flair's fame and level are doing much better than he is; in fact he's probably the biggest loser in the business in terms of someone who had his level of success.
@SovereignStatesman A lot of wrestlers have had hard times, but there hasn't been anyone who has risen as high and then fallen as low as Flair. If anything, young wrestlers will see his story and start saving their money and making good business decisions.

All Flair cares about is if guys go out and drink and party. If they don't do that, Flair doesn't think they care about the business. Cena is solid, I think the problem that most fans have with him is that his character has not changed one bit in like 5 years or so now. It needs to change.
Cena is a better wrestler than guys like Hogan, Hall, Nash, Ultimate Warrior and a few others. Flair has said himself that Nash is a big man with 0 in the ring, but he says that Cena lacks some skills but not alot, in other words Flair has pretty much said cena is better than Nash .which is damn true. The difference is that nash came out of a good era of wrestling, where cena didnt. Its not the lack of skills of cena, its the companys direction if cena was in an edgy era, i think he would thrive

guys question. we all know ric aged, but look at a pic of him in 2002 and he still had his original face, look at him in 2003, especially after his driving incident and his face just changed and got bloated. was he on roids that year or did he get botox? most fans denied both and just called it age but you don't age that bad in just ONE year. if you don't believe me look for yourself, in 200 when he was fueding with vince then look at him with evolution in 2003 and after.

The reason that Ric is still around is based only on money. He wanted to retired with WWE, but wrestling was his job and he didn't save his money well at all. Several divorces, buying fast cars, and buying expensive alcohol adds up. He may literally die in the ring. I feel terrible that my Ric Flair and my six year old cousins Ric Flair are two completely different people. I see The Nature Boy, he sees this old fat orange guy yelling jibberish and gushing blood from his forehead.

Flair didn't take opportunities outside of wrestling either; like he was cutting down Funk for making movies, saying he's not good enough to wrestle him etc; it was one of those "Truth in Television" things where he had contempt for people who left wrestling to go into movies and making money on the side as "sellouts."
Then he goes and ends up a pauper because he couldn't or wouldn't do it himself, thinking that wrestling was a gold-mine or a "noble poor-man's profession" etc.

If you've seen Raven's ROH secrets of the mat you'd get where I'm coming from. I'm a fan of Morrison but what they want to push is the idea of a face over coming the odds like in a Rocky movie. The only problem is that Cena gets 0 sympathy from fans b/c they don't buy that he's at a disadvantage.

austin and rock knew how to tell a story in the ring besides just punch and kick.

All Flair cares about is if guys go out and drink and party. If they don't do that, Flair doesn't think they care about the business. Cena is solid, I think the problem that most fans have with him is that his character has not changed one bit in like 5 years or so now. It needs to change.

Cena is a better wrestler than guys like Hogan, Hall, Nash, Ultimate Warrior and a few others. Flair has said himself that Nash is a big man with 0 in the ring, but he says that Cena lacks some skills but not alot, in other words Flair has pretty much said cena is better than Nash .which is damn true. The difference is that nash came out of a good era of wrestling, where cena didnt. Its not the lack of skills of cena, its the companys direction if cena was in an edgy era, i think he would thrive

If you watch his 80's matches against bundy etc he got the crap beat out of him for 90% of every match then made the superman comeback. he made it believable that his belt was in jepordy every time. Cena is superman the whole match never acting hurt and Winning like he is invinceble.

I love Cena. I wish he'd actually sell a move once in a while but he's got a certain charisma to him you find hard to replicate, especially in this day and age. Though he's no Rock, he oozes charisma.
As for Flair. I love the guy to bits and there's no denying what he's done for the business, but I wish he'd retire now. Its getting painful seeing him tear himself up in the ring and I worry he's going to push past his limit.

The company is definatly responsable for what Cena is. Wrestling is a different buisness today. They have to be role models first,actors 2nd, performers 3rd,then have wrestling ability. 20 years ago that list was reversed. i think cena does work hard hell just to keep in shape he works hard ..i met cena a few months ago at a gym the wwe was doing a show on a sunday night that same sunday afternoon in walks john cena in the gym where i work out he comes in to work out before the show he gets him self ready and if he does that everytime he has to do a show then he has to spend a lot of time in gyms cause hes always doing a wwe show somewhere ...and he was also a very nice and cool guy
