  • Haha, what a legend!!

  • He tells it like it is. When he's Pope, "pro choice" frauds the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy will be tossed off the Communion rail and bounced down the front steps of every church from NY to CA and I can't wait. AMEN!

  • Our next Pope.

  • Check out planned parenthood eugenics, racism, exposed on youtube.

  • stupid comments by this man yes keep having baby's the planet isn't over populated more kids yeah the Vatican doesn't give condoms to Africa.

That cardinal should talk about that instead of making shit jokes

  • Viva Cardinal Arinze!

  • Clean your own house first, Cardinal. Remember the rape of children by your brethren. You have NO moral standing.

  • @JimmieHiggins: Yet, he didn't take part in the rape of children... Some clergy yes, but you cannot judge this cardinal for something that alot of the members in the church did not truly know about until recently. He has moral standing since he is a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and serves his one and only church.

  • @JimmieHiggins Can you quote cases of 'child rape'? I think you are talking about sexual assaults on post pubescent males. This is not 'child rape' and the chances of such assaults happening with a clergyman are about four times higher in Protestant Churches. This has been independently established. So Protestant clergy are four times less credible than the Cardinal?

  • @JimmieHiggins The cardinal didn't rape anyone nor did he cover up for anyone. He speaks for Jesus Christ Who said to His Apostles (of whom Cardinal Arinze is a direct descendent) 'He who hears you, hears me'. Abortion is a grave moral evil. Why would anyone seek to defend the murder of the innocent unborn any more than the sexual abuse of the innocent youths who were abused? You wouldn't defend either practice, would you?

  • The idea of the Swiss gaurd arresting these pro "choice" politicians is a great idea. I like this Cardinal, he gets it.

  • This is the first time I've ever heard Cardinal Arinze speak. Whenever he's quoted in print, he sounds very severe, but in person he's very witty and engaging. He reminds me of Pope John XXIII, minus a pound or two.

  • You joined teh Anglican church? founded by a murderer, King Henry VIII>that makes about as much sense as everything else you said.

  • Is this guy OUT OF HIS MIND? "Ask a 7 year old who is about to receive communion for the first time?" This comment by the cardinal is totally inappropriate. A 7 year old SHOULD NOT know about abortion. He or she is simply too young. Also, most people are not single issue voters. This cardinal has a simplistic view of the world. I left the catholic church because of people like him, and joined the Episcopal church.

  • @Jibjub80 you need to indoctrinate early thats the usual status quo

  • @Jibjub80 Try listening again from 2:00. The Cardinal says, "Somebody votes for the killing of unborn babies . . . " (and that is what abortion is!) and points out how obvious it is that babies should not be killed, born or unborn. I think you're a little naive to say that a seven-year-old should not know about abortion. Several seven-year-olds of my acquaintance (thanks to television and the Internet) have shocked me by knowing about fornication & adultery; therefore they need to know Truth.

  • @Jibjub80 Good riddance.

  • i feel so ashamed, my ex girlriend was pregnant of me i did not know about that... i think se had an abortion.... i am catholic but fell in sin for six months.... i confessed my sins and i came home to church but now this was a shock... i am against abortion.. i feel so sorry for all those poor unborn souls... ;(

  • I agree with Yakovich. This cardinal is a real jerk. A 7 year old probably does not even know what abortion is, and if he or she does, he or she should not. The statement that a 7 year old should know is twisted and fucked up.

Mr Cardinal, I did vote for a pro-choice candidate (I'm not a single issue voter), and I do receive communion on Sunday whether you like it or not. I joined the Episcopal church because of idiots like this you, and my female priest voted for the same guy!

  • @Jibjub80 a 7 year old child doesnt know ahat abortion is- true, but how many beautiful 7 year old children whould be here without abortin?

  • @Jibjub80 a 7 year old child doesnt know ahat abortion is- true, but how many beautiful 7 year old children whould be here without abortin?

  • @Jibjub80 There are many issues that have to come together to make someone a good candidate. That same person's position on one other issue can make them a bad one. We don't vote for candidates who support bribery as a political institution or racism as a cultural one. Abortion is the same. Not every pro-lifer would be a good politician. Every pro-choicer is a bad one. Support for murdering children automatically makes you a bad candidate. Not being single-issue on this is not a good trait.

  • It's comforting to see the cardinal finds the question on abortion so amusing but unfortunately most of those who go through it don't take it so lightly. Those who do... well what hope would the child have being raised by a parent/s with such values?

  • It isn't about going through abortion, it's about voting, and the logic of the principle. People who are illogical are often hilarious if you look at it in the right light. Cardinal Arinze is particularly gifted at putting a humorous spin on absurd contradictions which are actually quite strange and even frightening. Humor helps us realize them more easily, and understand them, and remember the truth more easily too.

  • @Yakovich Sigh! Some people are just complete morons that have zero comprehension skills. Do you REALLY think he finds abortion funny because he's laughing at the insanity of it all in this video?

  • God bless Cardinal Arinze.

  • Abortion's the Silent Holocaust the Biggest most terrible evil of modern society. Let's all, let our politicians know they have a job to do.

  • Abortion is sad but even my sad is the fact sometimes it is necessary. A 12 year old girl raped by a paedophile becomes pregnant....what to do?

Some priests have much to answer for what to do?

No condoms for the poor so that have very large families and live in poverty for the rest of there lives...what to do?

Aids in Africa is spread through ignorance and with out the use of condoms..what to do?

The Cardinal is humorous, yes, but is this a humorous subject..what to do?

  • No, murder is never necessary.

You can't decide whose life is more important. Not to mention you're talking about less than 1% of all the cases. Probably less than 0.001%.

A big family is not a curse, nor should it be "remedied" by condoms. That's why Church has charities. They help. Give them help&education, not rubber. You can't live on nor eat rubber.

The Cardinal is humorous-it's a laughable topic. It's ridiculous to imply a killing mother should have a choice over weather to kill babies.

  • I agree that rape and incest are probably no more than 2% of all cases. Should we infer, by your statement of the percentage, that you would find some level of abortion acceptable? In other words, would you accept a statute that permitted abortion for "less than 1% of all the cases" or "less than 0.001%" if it could be prohibited in all others? I am merely seeking to clarify your position.

  • "Abortion is sad..?"

Is the baby any less of a person? Do you justify killing the child for a crime they did not commit?

"Some priests... ?" That may be so, but what does this have to do with abortion?

    "No condoms for...?"

In your opinion, living in poverty is worse than not living at all?

Aids in Africa...? again, what does this have to do with abortion, (preventing aids is another topic) if you have an unborn child with aids, do you justify killing it? Is it any less human?

  • Michael, the baby resulting from the paedophile's horrible act is as innocent as its mother. She should be supported and loved and helped, as should the innocent baby in her womb.

As for AIDS, and poverty: nobody in our self-indulgent world wants to hear this: Abstain, and you will neither make an unwanted baby nor catch any sexually transmitted disease. It's that simple. Self-denial may be hard, but it works.

  • Let's not confuse the issue. A pedophile priest is not interested in little GIRLS . . .

  • Love you, Cardinal. You're a treasure of the Church.

  • We could be looking at the next Pope.

  • God bless Cardinal Arinze and keep him

  • Great answers! "Let your talking be yes yes, no no; the more is from the devil"...this is the first rule of distinguish if a position is truly catholi: semplicity, clarity and conformity to Church tradition.

  • Pelosi is a 10x bigger joke than G.W. Bush. I like this Cardinal as next Pope as well.

  • He's great! He takes on a tough subject and breaks it down to its most simple point, delivering a clear teaching with honesty, love and humor. I too would love to see him succeed PBXVI, but I'd be happy to have Pope Benedict around for a long time. He's not at all what I expected and I'm very happily surprised (I wasn't closely following the Vatican back before JPII passed away and didn't know much about him.)

  • The American bishops, with few exceptions are reprobate. Thus, the laity as it is. Literally, hell to pay. Followed Arinze for years, he seems pretty good, but is getting on in years.

  • Cardinal ARINZE 4 POPE

  • yomellamocondor, He almost was. I think the Church and the world could use his levity. Levity without compromise of principle and a wisdom that cuts straight through the smoke. He's getting on in years though, but he would make a wonderful Pope.

  • Cardinal Arinze for POPE next!

  • He gave a great analogy! :)

  • I, of course, hope that Papa Benedito (a great pope) has many fruitful years in the chair of Peter, but I think that Cardinal Arinze would be totally awesome as his successor.

  • A champion!

  • this guy will be a mad pope i like his style

  • I like this cardinal!

  • I hope and pray this man is not too old to be *papabile* at the next conclave. He would be (the Holy Spirit willing) an excellent pastor of the Lord's flock.

  • Agreed!

  • The next pope, please God.

  • Thank God other people feel the same way as me about abortion. BAN ABORTION NOW!!!

  • Arinze Is Awesome! I went to his lecture here in Dallas, TX yesterday on Inter-religious Dialog and he is just brilliant. His smile just exudes love a the while being uncompromising in his faith. I am a huge fan. Xcesschick, I understand your anger over the abortion issue, especially when some people expect to receive communion while ignoring a basic commandment of God, but that does not make pro-aborts "subhuman." It makes them sinful humans who need to return to the faith.

  • Trust me MegsterBerry, the Pro-Abort Politicians are TOO FAR GONE! The devil owns their destiny. They have sold their souls and lead millions into the same deceitful lies of legal surgical murder of members of the human and spiritual family~~our unborn. Unfortunately, their sin of surgical murder through abortion promotion and encouragement will be their very own children's burden....and their children's children. Yuck! What a bummer legacy to leave! Wack 'em with Bibles? Doesn't work...

  • I'm not sure what your argument is SantaCruz. Abortion is an intense evil and a holocaust certainly. It must be passionately fought against. This does not make pro-aborts subhuman, however. Sinful people are no less human than pious people. Let us keep our humility when dealing with others. May God help us in our battle against abortion.

  • Subhuman is also defined as DEBASED OR DEPRAVED. The shoe fits perfectly here.

  • Are you labeling the moral choice of pro-aborts subhuman? In that case the "not worthy of a human being" definition works quite well. To kill one's own offspring goes against even man's most primal instincts. To label a person subhuman, however, is unworthy of the pro-life cause. "Sub" means below, under or beneath human, i.e. "of a lower order of being than the human."

  • Every behavior is a "moral" choice. Meth use, rape, adultery, theft, lies, gossip, gluttony, porn, etc. are "choices". Some legal, some not. Certain gossip will land you in severe law suits. Meth can cause deranged behavior that results in heinous crimes. Adultery wounds many, often leading to homicide. Theft causes dangerous situations. Gluttony renders an ill burden of morbid obesity. Subhuman defines as depraved and debased. Animals, not humans, naturally kill their young.

  • I don't think we need to define the connection between choice and free will in this forum, but yes that's true. But, once again I am unsure of what your argument is. "Subhuman" is first defined as less than human. Evil makes you depraved certainly, but not of a lower order of being than human. Second, animals do not naturally kill their young. The instinct to propagate the species is strong even in animals. For example the mother pelican will pierce its own breast to feed its young if necessary.

  • MegsterBerry, what is YOUR argument? Where the Nazi subhuman? Yes! Our lives and existence is of the spiritual, even supernatural, realm. Karma and aura travel in subhuman manifestations of heinous horrors. Coverup and "fluffy" words, like free will "choice" are the light of darkness.

  • The term "free will" and its result "choice" is anything but fluffy. It is simply the gift and burden God gave men. I believe this debate is best left where it is. May God bless your prolife ventures as you defend human rights.

  • Surgical abortion is a current legal right to choose that action. Legal or illegal it is a choice. Many countries allow legal murder of their daughter if she is a victim of rape. The "free will" core corruption in surgical abortion debate is the Politicians covering up the atrocity by legalizing it. Catholic politicians must be ex-communicated. I doubt they would care less. Just ask Kennedy, Poleski, Sam Farr, Kansas Gov., etc, etc. They really could care less...so we should for them!!!!

  • Any procurement of a completed abortion incurs latae sententiae, or automatic excommunication. In other words, if a Catholic politician approves abortion they already are excommunicated. Once again, that was never the subject of our debate because I never disagreed with the Church's decision on this matter.

  • Santa Cruz. I agree that it may seem like politians are very far gone. But what you have said is judging the thing that we are not allowed to judge. Essentially what you have said is that they are already going to hell. We cannot say that.

  • Well, you go ahead and bake them an apple pie and have them over for dinner....I on the other hand will call for accountability and call a demon a demon by his deeds and heart and his active role in seeing others don't enter heaven's gate by his hand! Discernment is a true virtue. You just rather stick your head in their dirty sand ... they could care less about you, because you would never judge them. Your silence is a sin.

  • There is no need for insults against me. I am telling you only what is in the Catechism. You are not allowed to judge whether or not a person is going to hell. That is God's judgement alone. That is not to say we cannot judge them, but that we cannot say they are 'damned' essentially. Again, no need to insult as my comment was not intended as an insult.

  • Using humour to preach on a serious subject effectly, great!

  • Brilliant.

  • Haha. Cardinal Arinze is awesome!
