Dude I saw an old video lesson of Steve on guitar.com best video I've ever seen. When guitar.com changed there site they put all there video lessons on YouTube except Steve morse lesson cause its longer then 10 min. I wish I could see that video 1 more time.
Steve Morse just has such a great sense of melody and it seems he can play almost anything. What a great talent and he's going to be in concert at the Variety playhouse in Atlanta Oct.31st!
Classical music? But in which style? Modern, asbtract, dodecaphonical, romantical music?
What the hell is classical music?
I see a lot of guitar players doing arpeggios, scales etc. Seemns to be they're trying to play a barroco style, as Bach or Haendel. Even if you are talking about barroco or rococo, there is a big difference between Duo Assad, Abreu's Brothers, Manuel Barrueco, Yamandu Costa and a eletric guitar player doing that exercises.
I first saw Steve Morse at the 1980 Ohio University SpringFest. The Dixie Dregs! I only wish as a guitar player starting out then, that I could some day play like that. So seeing him changed my life for good and bad. He kicks ass. At least mine. Thats a lot of fucking practice, and a gift.
it's not music ... it's practice
