  • I love the title. It's like the saying, "Champagne made in California!"

  • @1stab how does that make sence???

  • @joel5623333 Champagne is made exclusively in that part of France. There is one Cremona as far as violin making and that is in Italy.

  • Ciao Marco, Hai fatto una bella presentazione. Complimenti Ti saluto dal Giappone.

  • @iwaitakao Ciao Takao, é un piacere sentire di te dopo tanto tempo. Grazie.

  • im curious how do violin get the kinda thick sound like oistrakh's violin... is it cause the violin is super old ?? its like as if playing on sul G throughout the whole piece

  • I love to know how you do it........i am just repairing this time with guitars and violin....i have spend most my time in learning how to play guitar and violin and its been late i know that repairing and making will be my passion and livelihood for a lifetime.....goodluck to you thanks for sharing your knowledge I wish to know the things you know......

  • I think you should try making classical guitars! Sure, it is different, but please don't leave us (guitarists) alone!!!! Anyway I think you make great intruments!!!! Good luck!!

  • What grade of sandpaper he uses to sand the varnish? From the sound it makes sounds like a thick grade.

  • @Max0Inq I usually use sandpaper grades 400 to 800. I sand very lightly between coats.

  • @baronvitta Thanks. True, 800 is very fine (in both meanings of this word :) ).

  • How would a violin you make cost??

  • @DiapasooN1 roughly 5 weeks

  • I wish you had more videos I would love to see more of your work. Is there a DVD? If so where can i buy it..... P.S keep up the good work

  • quanto custa um violino seu?

posso estar interessado no som do seu violino, como poderia testa-lo?

    Valeu

  • Very good video !

  • as a lither you are a Meir copyist a craftsman the artist is the one you copy. the secret is not being true to the methods it is being true to the artistry of design. and that is why you as a craftsman always copy.

  • What really comes through, is his absolute love for the instrument!

  • yes it was well scripted, like a politician

  • Anyone have an idea on what music was being played in the background?

  • @DiapasooN1 It takes between 250 and 300 hours.

  • really great footage of a violin maker master.

  • I'm left handed, I wonder if he makes ones for leftys.

  • lefties play just as righties do. no difference in instruments.

  • I loved this video.

I'm in the process of building my first violin from a kit. I would really love to see more information on the complete details of the varnishing process. I'd like my violin to have a beautiful and deep finish but it's difficult to find detailed instructions.

    Thanks for the wonderful video.

  • where to buy a template of amati or stradviarius with correct measurements? thanx.

    beautiful work, by the way.

  • I know it would probably be unorthodox but is it possible to build a violin out of an aromatic wood such as Cedar

  • His violins look great i wonder what his prices are like

  • Complimenti maestro. Bellissima produzione.

  • that was an informative video, I thought for a minute there he was going to sand right through then neck!

  • good video

  • Violins are just so sexy as far as instruments go..

  • @twoblink they are valumptious XD

  • @ccolivardia valuptuous

  • at 1:14 what is that

  • The shape is that of a baryton, however the baryton has two sets of strings. The viola da gamba we see on painting such as the one in Santa Cecilia has 6 or 7 strings. The baryton has 24 sympathetic strings, it was made in a few pieces for prince Esterhazy. The question remains, what is it? In my opinion it is a hybrid instrument, a four strings gamba.

  • @baronvitta is that a viola da gamba?

  • I need a violin making video! i have money!

  • i came across this video for a school project. now i want to learn to play the violin

  • That's a beautiful viola you just made.

A violin is usually smaller. I like playing

one when I have the chance. I can play any

    instrument except the drum set.

  • Wow, you really know your stuff! Can you make a copy of an Amati, 1566?

  • VERY interesting video of a violin maker carving, planing, filing, sanding and varnishing his instruments, all while explaining what he is doing and why. Beautifully varnished in the end by a craftsman who truly enjoys his art.

A must see... Excellent post. Thank you Baronvitta!
