  • My wife had aneurysm rupture in the PICA, at the age of 20.on 7/10/2010

The was taken to shands at the university of florida(usa) after CT scan that revealed a hemorrage, she had to undergo an emergenccy ventriculostomy or EVD to lower the intracranial pressure. She had the aneurysm coiled which was 4mm on diameter. She spent 1 month in ICU. Now 2/2/2011 she has no problems with motorskills nor brain damage the only set back is a minor short term memory deficit and lower back pain since the CS

  • After the endothelium heals over the neck of the aneurysm, what happens to the coil filled aneurysm? Does it stay there permanently like a wart, hanging off the vessel, or is it later removed?

  • to learn about what happens after stroke in more than 50% of those with stroke, and what to do about it, search Dr. Laurie Cestnick Harvard University on youtube for a video. I hope this is helpful!

  • My girl had an aneurysm burst about a year and a half ago and on a recent follow up they said it would be necessary to do the coiling again since the aneurysm enlarged. I'm really worried about her, but am trying to be positive.

  • I had a ruptured aneurysm on 4/30 - called my daughter to come over and once she got here told her to call for an ambulance.. They took me to our community hospital where they did a CT scan and sent me to a larger hospital. After another CT scan there the neurosurgon decided to do the coil proceedure. I was in ICU for 1 month and in rehab for 2 wks. I am now at home where I have problems with double vision and bladder control.

  • Thank You to all NeuroScientists & to all Scientific Researchers!!! Thanks to Japan and all countries of the world who created those neuro non-invasive toools!!! Thanks Americans for this computer graphic explication. God bless all You! I write & see thank to cerebral embolization and my Gratitude to Scientists is eternal:)

  • Today, my brother 28, left hospital for home! After a strong headache, like a thunder, he collapsed..and the emergency angiography show an ruptured aneurysm.

Doctors coiled the aneurysm and after 13 days in ICU and 8 in the room, my brother ,without complications and no mental or physical deficits, today is back to our family..

I have to thank his doctors and all the stuff who saved his life.. Thank you all!

  • @ngoumas my uncle is in Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto right now because of exactly what happened to your brother...hopefully we get the same outcome you did :)

  • I am 54, on 05/02 I had the microcoil procedure performed to deposit 7 platinum pins in the sac. My only symptom was passing out when it leaked. Neurologist said over 5cc leaked. I was in ICU for 12 days, total 18 days at the hospital due to the heatwave here. Went back to work 2 weeks later. On 08/01/08 i was released to full activity. No headaches, no deficits! Since August I've been doing strength/endurance training at the gym 5x a week. Living life! I may have an angio next month.

  • gooooooooooooooooooooood

  • My husband had this done on January 27 09. He was up and walking around in two days! Amazing! Years ago they had to open your skull. That took months to recover from.

  • that's soooooo cool

  • Neuroradiologists fucking neurosurgeons..lol

  • is this type of embolization better than prostesis?

  • What are you talking about? This is an aneurysm we're talking about, not an amputated limb. This is an alternative approach to surgically clipping the aneurysm.

  • yes.. i actually had it done to my aneurysm about 4 years ago...and thank God for this wonderful and amazing alternative approach
