The open double stuff on the end is very Swiss influenced I think. I am not sure how much influence there is on the rolling part but I know the notation on my sheet music for this Duthart salute is Swiss. The open rolls/doubles on the end.... there was a name on those.... 3kamps? something along those lines.

  • My Uncle...played on that day....... Ronald Annan, always talked of the talents of Alex

  • Jim Kilpatrick might have been in that corps, since '73 was his first year with Shotts.

  • Still sounds good today, and all the top drummers that came from the Duthart stable.

  • Snare drums today sound much different. This is the first time Ive heard such an old clip and I am very impressed with the "snaremanship" that these young lads have shown. Ive noticed that today tenor drummers tend to be up with the flourishes more than was shown here.

I am still very appreciative of this video and I think you.

  • thanks for this beautiful clip!

  • I weas there when this was played. only a young boy., but still great to hear. Drummers of today, listen and learn.

  • Thanks again!

  • That's a well-worn drum head! Great to see this...thanks!
