all asians hate south korean they are killed and raped 500000 Vietnamese Taiwanese Japanese Chinese people we think too koreans are Terrorism nation... i hate...
if you are white from America or Europe (basically countries that are more developed than Korea), you will be treated like a royalty. if your skin is darker than koreans', well, good luck. u will need it. a lot of it.
Most of the "juicy girls" around US military bases these days are Filipinas, I don't know where she's getting the ideal that Korean women wants to get into the pants of US soldiers. That's absurd.
You do understand that this is how bad impressions are made, right? Regardless of how rude a person is to you, you don't get aggressive. Killing with kindness and letting it go is enough. Who gives a shit if they get away with their bullshit? You will never see the person again. You will only leave them with a bad impression. This might sound totally fucked up, but since blacks have a bad impression as it is in the East, it's best to be on your best behavior. Kill the stereotype.
@p00lman Why you block me? When you are honest and say things as it is, people will hate you for it, but it still doesn't change the truth. If a fat bitch, came up to me and asked me if she was fat? I'll say "yeah you are a fat as fuck and maybe you shouldn't eat so much before you die of heart disease." She'll write all kind of bullshit on my channel but it doesn't change the fact that she's a fat bitch.
All these neg comments just goes to show you that there is racist around the world. A person cant even have a point of view about what 's going on in their life. geeesh! Freedom of speech!
@RedSkyNord .. I not talk about racist people having freedom of speech. I saying she has the right to tell her story and how it affects her. Please re-read my comment.
@sw3737 I know exactly what I read and what I am responding to. What I am telling you, if you could decipher, is that her opinion verses the opposing (racist) opinion has no relevancy to Freedom of Speech. It has nothing to do with anyone trying to infringe on her right to share her opinion. These negative comments are from idiots being idiots.

Hey do you still live in Korea? I would love to meet up and talk with you. I think we have a lot of things in common (african america woman, grew up in the south, believe in God, growing dreads, etc) and I would like to hear more about your experiences in Korea. Be blessed lady!
You misread my posting. White people in the South never felt inferior to blacks, but after losing a war and having the structure of their society discredited there was a feeling that whites in the north “looked down upon” them. Even today there is a bias toward southern whites that they are less intelligent and backwards. My point was that people who are in that position seem to always find some other group to disparage. I'm talking about psychological simularities, not actual historical events
I guess blacks have fully saturated America's tolerance with their racism rants, they're spreading their ugly racsim rants on foreign countries. She sounds like she's straight from the hood too.
Since you're in Korea, it looks like a Korean gave you a job. But you're still bitchin. After you, my guess is your school will be less likely to hire other blacks.
I believe that this is particularly of note in reference to places like Korea because the causes are the same: They were invaded and dominated in the past and now they cling to their race as a way to feel equal or superior to others. The thing is, don't they realize that that type of thing makes the rest of the world view them in a less and not more reverential way?
@videoguyinfinity i agree that Koreans do feel an inferiority complex about the place we have in the world, however imagine you've been stepped on all your life and now trying to stand up as equals among the world power isn't a good thing? I don't think we're trying to be superior to anything. We're tired of being called that country between Japan and China. Most of Americans don't know Korean products even though they are using them and so on... We're trying to get some respect.
@Prkwon they don't even know what the LA riots are. Black folks are not taught about their own racism. They are taught to define racism is something that is perpetrated on them by the world. AA in the US do a lot of ignorant things too:
I'm .5 Asian and get called YaoMing by black kids in East Harlem jogging lol
A Korean girl had "chinky eyes" written up on her receipt at Papa Johns by a black kid
Up in South Philly black kids are bullying SE Asians while black administrators stand by
@shalom1948hellyeah i like your point. I think it is a little window of someone's psyche when you only see yourself as a victim and not others. I was taught that when you have wrong things done to you, you only focus on that instead of what you are doing to others. I've talked to Japanese people who still have been taught to discriminate Koreans because of their parents ignorant superiority. I think it's gotten worse because of Korean wave and slow equalization of Korean products with japanese
@shalom1948hellyeah well racism has been going before any of us were born. Black around the US saw the LA riots as a reaction to Rodney King. Now should have blacks torn up Korean stores. Absolutely not. I am a black man. Sadly racism is taught but its up to you to help educate other people not to let this continue. I have the same responsibility as well. Stay fresh man! :)
Although, a lot of people try to explain away the kind of white biased anti black racism in alot of these asian countries as some type of misunderstood aspect of the various cultures, I think it's becoming more and mare clear that this is just the same old racism.
@videoguyinfinity I understand you want to somehow simplify racism to one tidy little category. True, racism in ANY form is wrong and should not be tolerated. But to say racism in Korea and racism in the south is a bit ignorant. Japanese don't like Koreans because they think they are superior. Some of them call us rats and cockroaches. Koreans (older ones anyway) view ANY foreigners with a distasteful eye not just blacks. And that whole riot thing in L.A. didn't help.
@Prkwon I was just commenting on a pattern I've seen over the years in vastly different places. Be it Central Europe, Asia, Africa or the the U.S., when ever you see these racist situations if you look closely at the situation it always boils down to some kind of personal or collective insecurity.
@videoguyinfinity You know what, i'm sorry. I've been watching videos like this like a mad man and never really stopped to think about it in modern and historical difference in racism in Korea. I think modern racism although still different than Southern racism you are right in that at its base its the same. However, i think historically racism stemmed from unfamiliarity of other races created it. Thanks for being rational!
@videoguyinfinity that's a stupid generalization. pretty such the slave masters were racist because they needed a submissive population to work as human chattel, not because they felt inferior to Africans
most racism is driven by economics. people go over to Korea or other countries and equate different social mores or misunderstanding to racism
anyone comparing Korea to Jim Crow or Weimar Germany is truly and deeply ignorant
It's as if the color of their skin or their perceived superiority over another group of people is all they have to build their self esteem on. Growing up in the Southern U.S. I noticed that that was usually the basis for most of the racism there: "I might be almost poor, not very bright and at disadvantaged in some way, but I am going to bust my ass working hard because I can't wind up Iike a n*gg*r..."
One of the things that I have noticed over the years is that most people's racism stems from some type insecurity that they have in themselves. You ever notice how it's always mediocre people who are the most racist?
part of a woman's role is to submissive and follow a male's lead? honestly, that's an incredibly pathetic perspective for either a male or a female to have. some of the other stuff you said was meaningful, but that first comment - absolutely pathetic. sorry kids tortured you as a child. it's insane that anyone would takes issue with dark skin. it's beautiful, but that attitude is a holdover from the humiliations of slavery. did you realize you said you're 3/4 native american. not african am?
Korean culture. I don't care who you are, if you go into a country you have to abide by their cultural rules! Even if it is letting an ajumma ram into you. I understand it is weird in our eyes, because it's not part of our culture, but it is part theirs. Also by not following their cultural rules, you spark even more negative outlooks on foreigners in general.
@YoochunHankyung4Eva It sounds like you're rationalizing discrimination just because it's 'cultural' norms. Nazi Germany had their norms of being anti-Semitic, I guess by your standard we should have let them keep doing their thing.?
@SunBeamsan I am not rationalizing discrimination for norms. I'm just saying she knowingly went into a country who is diversity deprived. She has to understand that these people have no idea about foreigners and sometimes are ignorant to the fact that they are being racist. Germany knew very well that they were being racist and were being anti-semetic. Also joined by the fact that they had a leader who was able to convert so many people because of his speeches and talks. There is a difference...
@YoochunHankyung4Eva Also these people might not have actually done these things, because we heard it from her point of view and we don't know what they were doing. But again I admitted that they were racist acts, I am not going to deny that at all. But one must be considerate in another's country. She knew she was going to a country who was diversity deprived, and as smart as she is, she should have know that there would be problems such as this.
@YoochunHankyung4Eva I can understand that argument for people leaving in a remote country with poor education and lack of understanding about the world. But Korea is one of the most highly educated nations, there really is no excuse for this type of abuse and discrimination against people of different cultures. When a grown Korean women pulls the hair of a women who is black, she knows what she's doing don't, just like when Germans threw Jews off the pavement leading up to the Holocaust.
@SunBeamsan But what irratates me is that she is connecting these two people to all of Korea. Not all of Korea is racist, but again there are some people who will be. I am not saying it's right for them to do that, I never did. Just like in any country, you have racist people towards you. I have many African American friends who are in Korea and are being treated with the utmost respect. But you will find racist people wherever you go no matter what. But she can't just connect to all of Korea.
@YoochunHankyung4Eva She's giving her experience as a foreigner in Korea, she never said ALL Korea was racist. Why are you saying that? You are starting to sound a bit racist yourself I'm done with this conversation.
@SunBeamsan I wanted to end this conversation as well...I really don't care if you think I'm racist because I know I am not. I don't have to justify my opinion to you at all because you are just a random person on the internet. But to end it, the only thing I was mad about was how the grabbed the ajumma. That was the only concern I really had with what she did. I didn't mind her talking about her experiences I was just irritated with the fact that she wasn't fallowing Korean culture rules.
@YoochunHankyung4Eva No she clearly states that she is not saying that all Korean people are like that. She says that she does know some Korean people that are really nice to her. So maybe take another listen, because you really sound like you are offended & you shouldn't be.
@MyMJ20 Thank you for being more considerate, because I was offended. I was called a racist, when I clearly am not. I was just stating my opinion, because I know a lot about this subject, because I want to teach in Korea, it is part of my life goal, so I am well researched. I did look back at the video and she did say that, I am sorry for not paying enough attention. Thanks again for being more considerate! :]]
I only have a couple of things to say to this video. I understand that a lot of these things she was talking about are racist and plain rude! But she is in a country that for a long time had no foreigners located there. They are curious and have no idea about foreigners and only want to understand them better. Also American media gives them a completely different outlook, making it harder for them to understand. But what made me upset was how she grabbed the ajumma...that is going against the...
1) be professional. do your job and recruit the people your bosses and their customers want
2) be aware that if you're in a foreign country it is in fact FOREIGN. YOU adapt, don't expect the 50 millions to adapt to your proclivities
3) your entire rant on Korean women and submissiveness is the most racist thing in your entire video. if we're going to be all racist here, 70% of African American kids are raised in single parent homes, you really shouldn't be given marriage advice
@shalom1948hellyeah Yeah fight racism with more racism. Just because 70% of african americans kids are raised in single parents homes doesn't not mean she was raised in a single parent. It also says nothing about a person's parenting skills. A mother who raise two kids on her own can still be a good parent. What does being treated wrongfully have to do with adapting? As far as im concern pulling someone hair back is not in someone's culture.
"the fact that you think inequality equals racism and nothing else is pretty ignorant as well." That's not what I said though. I said when that inequality is based on race it is racism. Nothing ignorant about that. Lmao THAT IS THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD! The parents are racist. Their children learn to be. The school shares those sentiments and/or enables them. There's nothing left to assess.
This bitch thinks she is in America... This is Korea, where more than 2000 years there has been and still there is a distinctive culture and a single ethnic group, all of the sudden Koreans must change 100% because of her??? LOL Stupid hypocrite... Blacks are even more racists... remember LA riot???
koreans are retarted. should have atomic bombed their asses in WWII also. actually all fucking asians are stupid. the ass suck the white mans ass. ching chong my ass.
these videos are useless and people that make them are so narrow minded. if an asian girl moved from korea to harlem new york and she is surrounded by black people, then mentally she is gonna think people are being racist towards her as well. boo fkcing hoo. get over it. ur a minority in a country that u dont even speak their language. naturally, u gonna think people are racist even if they're not. but the question is, why are videos like this all made by black people?
@kimaste You're showing your ignorance. Please look up the definition of racism. It does NOT only come in the form of hate. It includes prejudice as well. Obviously it has nothing to do with just being a foreigner Those people from New Zealand, Australia, the whites from America, are all foreign as well. She was flat out told that the discrimination was race related. These videos are made by black people (I guess) because hmmm let me see... we get discriminated against the most. DUH!
@lecifbaby you're ignorant. to make it simple, it's called curiosity. even u could figure that out. lets look at the symptoms of her complaints. starring, touching her hair, pointing... these are signs of curiosity. unlike in america where it is the melting pot, we see different people on daily basis but these people especially in the country side never have. as far as work, it's inequality. it exists everywhere. here in the state,. equal employment of opportunity commission assists minorities.
@kimaste Inequality based on race IS racism. What is so hard to understand about this? She can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think she accused those ajummas of being racist, but of being plain RUDE.. Curiosity is one thing. YANKING (not touching) hair and RAMMING into people is another. The combination of rudeness from one person and blatant racism from another, especially in a short span of time, was naturally very frustrating. She had every right to vent about it!
@lecifbaby truly ignorant indeed. you take one side of the story and since you being black yourself will side with her. the fact that you take her exaggeration of yanking hair and so on as rude and racism when infact the person that yanked her hair probably politely pulled due to curiosity. is she felt it was blatantly yanking, she should have called the authority. inequlality based on race is racism or it could simply be preference. she said parents felt scared and kids prefer white teachers...
@lecifbaby the fact that you think inequality equals racism and nothing else is pretty ignorant as well. inequality could be due to anything. she feels uncomfortable when koreans stare and point. well koreans perhaps feel uncomfortable around blacks? and then some of her complains go beyond ridiculousness like when she talks about "juicy girls" trying to marry black soldiers and their penal size ... trying to defend her stance? that was bad to the point its comical.
@lecifbaby she is a foreigner in a new country that speaks a different language and perhaps 99% of population are koreans! she cant act like she is still living in america and that she has entitlements. she needs to embrace and learn the culture and know why certain things are done the way they are. obviously, if she feels there is clear racism, then go forward, but dont jump the gun without assessing the entire situation.
@kimaste Don't even. Being black has nada to do with my stance. Whenever I have the choice to choose between hearing someone out or trying to pull what happened completely out of my asshole as you have done, well, I'm not going to choose the later 99.9% of the time. 19:46 She said the lady didn't just tug but yanked her hair. Now until that ahjumma brings her ass on YT and says that's not how it went down, I'm going to believe Avery. It's not about Black vs Asian. It's about right vs wrong.
so parents are scared of black people and kids are more comfortable with white people?
you being a teacher yourself as you claim cant distinguish racism? being scared and not being comfortable is not racaism. racism is hate, wanting to do harm. i dont think these people hate you and want u dead. they just have their preference. yanking your hair is not being racist. just a difference in culture and curiosity. nothing you have said screams racism but a victim of inequality. look up EEOC.
give a nigger a ticket to fly out of the USA and the first place they go to, europe/asia.hahahah
these niggers crack me up.they complain of racism and the firt chance they get to leave the country they go to other racist if not even more racist part of the world.
what about africa.hahaha
notice these niggers never go back to see their motherland.hahaha
they know it is a shit hole like anywhere niggers control.haha
Typical black person, brining negativity and the worst of everything. Can't just adapt and try to live in peace. Always whining and complaining. The ironic part of all of this is that in America blacks nowadays are as equal as racists. Hypocrite bitch.
@Tom15452 let me ask you something since you want to talk about "typical black person" Do you even know any black people?? Do you know this young lady to call her a bitch?? Do you even know ALL american blacks?? If you answer NO to any of these questions do me a favor and 'SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!'
i can't say korean don't have racism... but i can say u r beautiful...and i love African american woman ...seriously ...AND SORRY FOR THAT BED EXPERENCE....
you are a beautiful, strong and itelligent women dark skinned and all. As black women, we need to get rid of colorism and learned to enjoy and embrace all complextions
As for the elevator experience..Korea culture is really different. American culture is really for
equality and standing up for yourself and others. When I found out
about respecting rules it really bothered me. Since I grew up feeling so rejected.
In Korea no matter what you have to have a high amount of everyone, no matter how rude they are. It's like they can disrespect you, but you can't disrespect them. Just don't let it get
All people in Korea are doing is going with what they hear and see. They do this for every foreigner. I grew up with a lot of rejection from people too. We all have, especially for skin. This world is too skin involved. We all just look different. There isn't blood for a race. Just like there isn't blood for having brown eyes or being tall. We are all related and we just look different. Forgive your family. Why judge them on judging? And why do the exact same thing back to them?
@Tom15452 Yes a lot of blacks are very racist. There are racists of every race. How is this a valid rebuttal to this UNIQUE individual's ISOLATED experience? How does that make what she's talking about any less disgusting? Right, it doesn't.
I'm so sorry they did that to you. I knew the south in America was horrible but I didn't think it was that bad. I've always lived in the north in New York.
I refuse without a doubt in my mind to ever in my life bow down to racism it doesn't matter who you are. As a human being I feel that me as a Black woman I deserve the right to be able to go anywhere without racism. If your to the point where you can't comprehend the fact that no one person is the same as someone else with the same race then, you are and will always be ignorant. Use your mind, just think for a second. Dont base you reasoning for disliking someone by the things you hear and see.
This bitch does not realize Blacks are the real racist... look at LA riots, the hate crimes blacks on Asians... This people think they are entitled to be treated like kings just because their ancestors were enslaved.
@Tom15452 If she's such a bitch and blacks are racist why in the FUCK are you here??? Get the fuck out of here with that bullsh*t!! B4 YOU GET IT TOO!!
@TheJayEffkay excuse me but most asians including koreans use to be slaves also and illiterate historically black people are not going nowhere your stupid ass is not saying nothing about how whites use to go to other countries and use the cross first then their guns to take over and enslave ppl and bringing their diseases to take over nations, india africa, america, etc.etc, read your history you dumb fuck!!!
fuck I didnt understand a word of that illiterate rant
Im saying all other cultures come into America and contribute etc.
Only blacks dont... I've been to 12 nations, and you can bet your arse that in every nation is a sub class of blackies who commit crime and are a burden of society
@TheJayEffkay It's not an illiterate rant,it's that you're ignorant and have no brain!!! You've been to 12 nations and still don't know shit!! Get the f*ck out of here, before i squash you like a bug!!
@TheJayEffkay Where do you get this information? What are these 12 nations you've been to? How long did you stay in them? Did you have proper conversation with the blacks in these nations? What source or sources are telling you that black people are the downfall of society? If you can't answer these questions in a credible, non-emotional, logical manner, please don't bother responding. Not because I'm afraid of agression, but because you'll have wasted your time.
@MissLoveTantei91 thejayeffkay is not going to respond becasue he is lying,he have not 1 intellegent thing to say through out his comments besides using the word "blackie" and blacks several times.
@TheJayEffkay i knew your bytch ass would eventually punk out!!! THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT! Yall see that he just told a so called "BLACK/BLACKIE,animal" Good day" You're full of sh*t!! Go preach that garbage somewhere else because you don't want the tribe to come at you!
@TheJayEffkay lmao dude why are you mad,,go run along and play kid,you are not in my league,I need to educate ignorant people like you on what blacks have contribute to the world just know when you see a traffic light, eat peanut butter or know someone who have a pace maker know a black person invented that! Ok,you ignorant little person! Here's a list of ppl you need to do research on that if you are not illiterate!
@TheJayEffkay Do your reasearch!! Becasue i'm done with you at this point!!
Contributions of black men and women to the world: Elijah McCoy Lewis Latimer Jan Ernst Matzeliger Granville T. Woods George Washington Carver Madam C. J. Walker Garrett Morgan Otis Boykin Dr. Patricia E. Bath Lonnie G. Johnson

@TheJayEffkay If you hate blacks so much why are you even on this channel commenting genius! I bet you won't walk up to a black person and say half the things you are saying here, get the F*ck out of here punk ass! you are probably some punk ass kid, still wet behind the ears watching too much tv and internet thinking you are an expert on black people, get your punk ass out of here before i run you out if you make 1 more dumb ass comment about black people! I'll show you how smart we're really are!
@TheJayEffkay lol, its all true. asian countries especially dont want foreigners to come in and live there, because they know america is all fucked up and they dont want that, doesnt matter what skin color you are.
This bitch does not realize Blacks are the real racist... look at LA riots, the hate crimes blacks on Asians... This people think they are entitled to be treated like kings just because their ancestors were enslaved.
@Tom15452 excuse me but our ancestors had kindoms before they were enslaved and suffer harsh treatment until you have someone follow you around a store or stopped for driving a BMW bc you are black you can't say shit just fall back and press on,bytch!!!
Why would any act like her experiences aren't valid because she's black? There are racists of all nationalities and ethnic backgrounds, that's just common sense. Blacks against Asian...historical evidence, if you care about history you would see people put into every category have hurt each other and loved each other. What butthurts most of you guys are, she didn't even generalize or take about Koreans as a "race" but more so as a national culture is concerned. Ugh...I should never read these...
@MrJosephheller FIRST OF ALL WE CAN COMPLAIN ALL WE WANTS ABOUT RACISM UNTIL YOU'VE HAD YOUR ANCESTORS RAPED,MURDER INFRONT OF THEIR FAMILIES,MEN CASTRATED AND ALSO RAPED,WHIPPED,TREATED LIKE SUB HUMAN,STOLEN FROM THEIR HOMELAND,ETC,ETC. THEN MOTHERFUCKER YOU CAN'T TALK FALL BACK AND SHUT THE HELL UP IT'S PPL LIKE YOU THAT MAKE ME WANT TO HAUL OFF AND SMACK THE SHIT OUT OF YOU! LEARN ABOUT HISTORY DUMBASS!!!
Awesome! I love to have friends like you! My fiancee is from Raleigh too. I'm from Massachusetts, one day would like to take her to the Orient, my mom was Japanese. I'm sure people will look @ us weird (she's black) but who cares, we love each other & we're humans (& she's smart & sweet)
You might not like it but these "teachers" are famous in Korea for using and smuggling in drugs to Korea not to mention all the other corrupt things they do to expose Korea to all theses fucked up things. With that being said you can't really complain about being treated unfairly . The society is not gonna change for a minority group. They have to change for the society to blend in and beating up and elderly person in a bus is certainly not the way to do it.
It's not just black people but it's all the "English Teachers" in Korea that gets no respect . People from all over the wolrd dream about getting education in America and making it big there because that's where it's at. For these "TEACHERS" to take the opposite route to teach in Korea might give the impression that they're taking the easy way out( not everyone but alot of them actually are).
One of the things I notice here in the comments is that there are A LOT of Koreans here apologizing for the racism that this girl claims she was the victim of. It's a complete world of difference...don't ya think?
I constantly see Black people in American treat Asians very politically incorrectly. Best Example is when a Black walks up to a Asian and asks them "What are u? U a chinese or japanese"... Many times the Asian will get offended, yet the Black person will always refuse to apologize.
@SergeSomboracRULES Oh WOW! So, you equate that with being called racial slurs and being PHYSICALLY PROVOKED?? While your point has been well-taken (because that is a very uncouth way of asking someone about their heritage/country of origin), to compare that with what this young lady is going thru over in Korea? Having her hair pulled?? Being taunted with racial slurs??? APPLES AND ORANGES! At least us "black people" have enough respect to stop and ASK. NOT SPEW RACIAL SLURS AND PHYSICAL ABUSE!
@SergeSomboracRULES So it's okay to claim the black americans are racist towards Asians yet completely disregard this girls experience. Also it's not just black people who do that to asians, all races do because people can be racist towards each other, I don't think black people do that anymore than any other group of people. I'm not gonna say that their aren't black people who do that but obviously we aren't all like that.
@SergeSomboracRULES That's called ignorance and black people are not the only ignorant people. If you said right now that you have never seen anybody of any other race do the same ignorant thing to an Asian, you'd be lying.
@SergeSomboracRULES calm down. Americans in General (white, Black, Hispanic ect.) assume that all Asian are from China. at least some people are bothing to ask what is there heritage and not assuming.Yes it may be politically in correct but in america, If you ask a White person what are you they are going to say white, you ask black person what are you they are going to say black. Most people dont know that it is suddenly offensive to ask a question that is acceptable in american
Racism is just the natural human way of keeping the unown away due to fear! If you don't know somthing or if somthing is differant from all that you have ben tought as a child, the first emotion that will come up is fear. Followed by cureosety. Some follow the corious feelig otheres are to afraid to relax and accept that there is somthing new to learn. Thats what I have learnd from racism. In the end its just a state of mind. And that can be chainged by just being an example.
@Monieck I agree with you to a point. Hence me living here and being the example. I don't spend all my time with foreigners, have become the "first black" to do MANY things here in Korea. This video is a FEW of my thoughts in comparing the 2 cultures/kinds of racism, in order to spur intelligent discussion. :)
@AbatarTeacher I was raised in Europ. I am a mix of many coltures due to my family history. I notice that my brothers and I are more tolorent towards people that act in a differant way towards us due to our skin color.People never know where we are from exactly. And I have noticed that it makes them uneasy that they can not fit us in a box.
To me thats becouse they are in a differant state of minde then what I am. Since I have so many differant coultures that I represent, my mind is constantly open to differant things. I like that every single person on earth is differant. All people teach me new ecxiding things. And all peaople in a way or another affect mylife. Thats why I make it my goal to accept people in all shapes, colors and sizes. I want to be the drop of honey on a bitter day that brightens up my neighbors day.
I have learned alot from you,by watching your video, I have seen that a strowng woman can move mountains. You are amaizing! I will keep watching your videos and learning. Thank you dear. :)
Don't feel too bad because the whole point of hiring white people is to geat these kids to get used to white poeple who are the majority group in America. The same applies to Korean Americans who grew up in America.. For example, if you're paying good money to learn Korean, whoudl you rather learn from a Korean guy or some White person assuming their knowledge of Korean is the same?
@korkorean 0.O Sooooooooo, "black"-skinned people are not capable of teaching English because they don't speak English? If that's the case then only British people should be hired.... Oh wait! There are "black" British people that speak ENGLISH!! Oohhhh.... what to do?? LOL. Also, as a recruiter (first black btw) HERE in KOREA, I can assure you that SPEAKING ABILITY has 100% NOTHING to do with the hiring preference or procedures. Just skin. It's a sad but true reality.
@AbatarTeacher Im not saying that. Im saying theres way greater chance of having to deal with a white person than a black person in America. and what these schools are trying to do it to help these korean kids to adopt to that enviroment as quick as possible. I'm sure you went through the same with Korean so you'll know that talking to a korean person and talking to some american person in korean are different.
@AbatarTeacher When you play a sport and youre practicing for a match, you practice according to the opponents tactics and tendencies. You don't just practice ths same thing over and over again for every opponent you know.
@AbatarTeacher My friend is Korean-American(family been in America since 1896) and my other friend is Filipino-American. They tried to do the whole "teach english in Korea" thing and they got rejected. Yet, the black students got the job. Being Non-Asian actually is a privilege in the program you are in. Even the ditzy blonde chicks who thought Korea was a city in China got accepted.
They made you the recruiter of their HR department and your bitching about them hating on blacks? LOL
@SergeSomboracRULES Also, what I am trying to say is that Koreans discriminate Asian Americans. My friends who are Asian American were not accepted into the program because an Asian was not the "image" of what the Koreans viewed as being "American". They wanted a white or black person because that is the image of "the American".
If you are complaining about racism, then move to a country that is full of Blacks like Brazil or Africa. What do you expect in a country full of only one race? In the U.S., whites are racist to minorities. In England they hate Pakis and Muslims. South African Blacks are killing all the whites there. In Israel, they hate Palestinians. Everybody majority race is racist to minority groups, so move to Africa where everyone is black. Human beings are racist in general, and it will never end.
@MrLilort Africa as continent. There are many countries in Africa blacks could move to, for example: South Africa, Botswana, Gabon, Mauritius. They are doing well economically, so too Brazil. Why stay in the U.S. where racism is rampant throughout society. I'm thinking of moving out of the country as well.
sorry to say this but...i am african who lives and works (go to school etc.) in country near German.
as an african myself, there are more hate against outsides. its like how japanese treat chinese people( quit bad) you just cant move to an country and be like them, we got language, religion, traditions, different looks. even Kenyan people who come to Ethiopia or Somalia, are treat bad, because they got big nose and are bigger, ''bad hair'' . etc. (its a crazy world we live in:D)
@jisangNY1 Why move? I'm just curious as to where your flawed and OBVIOUSLY unexposed thinking comes from? Also, this isn't a complaint video. It's a comparison of realistic accounts of the attitudes towards a specific group of people in 2 specific cultures. Hence me living here and being the example. I have become the "first black" to do MANY things here in Korea. This video is a FEW of my thoughts in comparing the 2 cultures/kinds of racism, in order to spur intelligent discussion. :)
@MrLilort Thanks for your attempts, but I'm sure this loon is in no condition to be taught or learn anything. Each one reach one IF they want to be reached! :( But, thanks for watching!
p.s i really like watching your videos, as an african/muslim woman. i also get to see an christian/black woman, who is fighting too, get to her goals in life, just like the rest of the world. peace:D!
@MrLilort Thanks and same to you! One day people will figure out that WE ARE ALL FAMILY! And once we all start fighting for humanity, then we will all evolve to be better human beings! :) Peace, love, and encouragement to you as well.... If you have fb be sure to come find me. Avery Atkinson (Kwon Su Jeong) in Korean ;)
@jisangNY1 how is going back to Africa going to help at all? there is no cure to racist but there is a cure to ignorance. If more black people like her went to korea and promoted a positive image then that would help. Ignorance stops when people start to get use to each other. I would know since I live in the South. If one the most rascist regions in the world can change then nothing should hinder our progress. remember we're all the same on the inside
@AbatarTeacher ok I wont pay them anymore attention. It's sad that people always come to these videos and alway hate on black people. they dont like black people why would they watch a video with black girl in the thumbnail
I don't get it.... In the history of the United States, Blacks have committed multiple nation wide hate crimes against Asian Americans...with the most significant being the LA Riots and the Watts Riots where the Blacks scapegoated the Korean American community and blamed them for their failures. Yet...yet Blacks still insist on a stereotype that : "KOREANS ARE RACIST!"..
There has never been a recorded case of a hate crime committed by Asians to Blacks...NEVER.
all asians hate south korean they are killed and raped 500000 Vietnamese Taiwanese Japanese Chinese people we think too koreans are Terrorism nation... i hate...

Since you're in Korea, it looks like a Korean gave you a job. But you're still bitchin. After you, my guess is your school will be less likely to hire other blacks.
alexander96850 1 month ago
I believe that this is particularly of note in reference to places like Korea because the causes are the same: They were invaded and dominated in the past and now they cling to their race as a way to feel equal or superior to others. The thing is, don't they realize that that type of thing makes the rest of the world view them in a less and not more reverential way?
videoguyinfinity 1 month ago
@videoguyinfinity i agree that Koreans do feel an inferiority complex about the place we have in the world, however imagine you've been stepped on all your life and now trying to stand up as equals among the world power isn't a good thing? I don't think we're trying to be superior to anything. We're tired of being called that country between Japan and China. Most of Americans don't know Korean products even though they are using them and so on... We're trying to get some respect.
Prkwon 1 month ago
@Prkwon they don't even know what the LA riots are. Black folks are not taught about their own racism. They are taught to define racism is something that is perpetrated on them by the world. AA in the US do a lot of ignorant things too:
I'm .5 Asian and get called YaoMing by black kids in East Harlem jogging lol
A Korean girl had "chinky eyes" written up on her receipt at Papa Johns by a black kid
Up in South Philly black kids are bullying SE Asians while black administrators stand by
shalom1948hellyeah 1 month ago
@shalom1948hellyeah i like your point. I think it is a little window of someone's psyche when you only see yourself as a victim and not others. I was taught that when you have wrong things done to you, you only focus on that instead of what you are doing to others. I've talked to Japanese people who still have been taught to discriminate Koreans because of their parents ignorant superiority. I think it's gotten worse because of Korean wave and slow equalization of Korean products with japanese
Prkwon 1 month ago
@shalom1948hellyeah well racism has been going before any of us were born. Black around the US saw the LA riots as a reaction to Rodney King. Now should have blacks torn up Korean stores. Absolutely not. I am a black man. Sadly racism is taught but its up to you to help educate other people not to let this continue. I have the same responsibility as well. Stay fresh man! :)
Empha84 3 weeks ago
Although, a lot of people try to explain away the kind of white biased anti black racism in alot of these asian countries as some type of misunderstood aspect of the various cultures, I think it's becoming more and mare clear that this is just the same old racism.
videoguyinfinity 1 month ago
@videoguyinfinity I understand you want to somehow simplify racism to one tidy little category. True, racism in ANY form is wrong and should not be tolerated. But to say racism in Korea and racism in the south is a bit ignorant. Japanese don't like Koreans because they think they are superior. Some of them call us rats and cockroaches. Koreans (older ones anyway) view ANY foreigners with a distasteful eye not just blacks. And that whole riot thing in L.A. didn't help.
Prkwon 1 month ago
@Prkwon I was just commenting on a pattern I've seen over the years in vastly different places. Be it Central Europe, Asia, Africa or the the U.S., when ever you see these racist situations if you look closely at the situation it always boils down to some kind of personal or collective insecurity.
videoguyinfinity 1 month ago
@videoguyinfinity You know what, i'm sorry. I've been watching videos like this like a mad man and never really stopped to think about it in modern and historical difference in racism in Korea. I think modern racism although still different than Southern racism you are right in that at its base its the same. However, i think historically racism stemmed from unfamiliarity of other races created it. Thanks for being rational!
Prkwon 1 month ago
@videoguyinfinity that's a stupid generalization. pretty such the slave masters were racist because they needed a submissive population to work as human chattel, not because they felt inferior to Africans
most racism is driven by economics. people go over to Korea or other countries and equate different social mores or misunderstanding to racism
anyone comparing Korea to Jim Crow or Weimar Germany is truly and deeply ignorant
shalom1948hellyeah 1 month ago
It's as if the color of their skin or their perceived superiority over another group of people is all they have to build their self esteem on. Growing up in the Southern U.S. I noticed that that was usually the basis for most of the racism there: "I might be almost poor, not very bright and at disadvantaged in some way, but I am going to bust my ass working hard because I can't wind up Iike a n*gg*r..."
videoguyinfinity 1 month ago
One of the things that I have noticed over the years is that most people's racism stems from some type insecurity that they have in themselves. You ever notice how it's always mediocre people who are the most racist?
videoguyinfinity 1 month ago
part of a woman's role is to submissive and follow a male's lead? honestly, that's an incredibly pathetic perspective for either a male or a female to have. some of the other stuff you said was meaningful, but that first comment - absolutely pathetic. sorry kids tortured you as a child. it's insane that anyone would takes issue with dark skin. it's beautiful, but that attitude is a holdover from the humiliations of slavery. did you realize you said you're 3/4 native american. not african am?

Korean culture. I don't care who you are, if you go into a country you have to abide by their cultural rules! Even if it is letting an ajumma ram into you. I understand it is weird in our eyes, because it's not part of our culture, but it is part theirs. Also by not following their cultural rules, you spark even more negative outlooks on foreigners in general.
YoochunHankyung4Eva 1 month ago
@YoochunHankyung4Eva It sounds like you're rationalizing discrimination just because it's 'cultural' norms. Nazi Germany had their norms of being anti-Semitic, I guess by your standard we should have let them keep doing their thing.?
SunBeamsan 1 month ago
@SunBeamsan I am not rationalizing discrimination for norms. I'm just saying she knowingly went into a country who is diversity deprived. She has to understand that these people have no idea about foreigners and sometimes are ignorant to the fact that they are being racist. Germany knew very well that they were being racist and were being anti-semetic. Also joined by the fact that they had a leader who was able to convert so many people because of his speeches and talks. There is a difference...
YoochunHankyung4Eva 1 month ago
@YoochunHankyung4Eva Also these people might not have actually done these things, because we heard it from her point of view and we don't know what they were doing. But again I admitted that they were racist acts, I am not going to deny that at all. But one must be considerate in another's country. She knew she was going to a country who was diversity deprived, and as smart as she is, she should have know that there would be problems such as this.
YoochunHankyung4Eva 1 month ago
@YoochunHankyung4Eva I can understand that argument for people leaving in a remote country with poor education and lack of understanding about the world. But Korea is one of the most highly educated nations, there really is no excuse for this type of abuse and discrimination against people of different cultures. When a grown Korean women pulls the hair of a women who is black, she knows what she's doing don't, just like when Germans threw Jews off the pavement leading up to the Holocaust.
SunBeamsan 1 month ago
@SunBeamsan But what irratates me is that she is connecting these two people to all of Korea. Not all of Korea is racist, but again there are some people who will be. I am not saying it's right for them to do that, I never did. Just like in any country, you have racist people towards you. I have many African American friends who are in Korea and are being treated with the utmost respect. But you will find racist people wherever you go no matter what. But she can't just connect to all of Korea.
YoochunHankyung4Eva 1 month ago
@YoochunHankyung4Eva She's giving her experience as a foreigner in Korea, she never said ALL Korea was racist. Why are you saying that? You are starting to sound a bit racist yourself I'm done with this conversation.
SunBeamsan 1 month ago
@SunBeamsan I wanted to end this conversation as well...I really don't care if you think I'm racist because I know I am not. I don't have to justify my opinion to you at all because you are just a random person on the internet. But to end it, the only thing I was mad about was how the grabbed the ajumma. That was the only concern I really had with what she did. I didn't mind her talking about her experiences I was just irritated with the fact that she wasn't fallowing Korean culture rules.
YoochunHankyung4Eva 1 month ago
@YoochunHankyung4Eva No she clearly states that she is not saying that all Korean people are like that. She says that she does know some Korean people that are really nice to her. So maybe take another listen, because you really sound like you are offended & you shouldn't be.
MyMJ20 1 month ago
@MyMJ20 Thank you for being more considerate, because I was offended. I was called a racist, when I clearly am not. I was just stating my opinion, because I know a lot about this subject, because I want to teach in Korea, it is part of my life goal, so I am well researched. I did look back at the video and she did say that, I am sorry for not paying enough attention. Thanks again for being more considerate! :]]
YoochunHankyung4Eva 1 month ago
I only have a couple of things to say to this video. I understand that a lot of these things she was talking about are racist and plain rude! But she is in a country that for a long time had no foreigners located there. They are curious and have no idea about foreigners and only want to understand them better. Also American media gives them a completely different outlook, making it harder for them to understand. But what made me upset was how she grabbed the ajumma...that is going against the...
YoochunHankyung4Eva 1 month ago
1) be professional. do your job and recruit the people your bosses and their customers want
2) be aware that if you're in a foreign country it is in fact FOREIGN. YOU adapt, don't expect the 50 millions to adapt to your proclivities
3) your entire rant on Korean women and submissiveness is the most racist thing in your entire video. if we're going to be all racist here, 70% of African American kids are raised in single parent homes, you really shouldn't be given marriage advice
shalom1948hellyeah 2 months ago

The school shares those sentiments and/or enables them. these videos are useless and people that make them are so narrow minded. if an asian girl moved from korea to harlem new york and she is surrounded by black people, then mentally she is gonna think people are being racist towards her as well. boo fkcing hoo. get over it. ur a minority in a country that u dont even speak their language. naturally, u gonna think people are racist even if they're not. but the question is, why are videos like this all made by black people?
kimaste 2 months ago
@kimaste You're showing your ignorance. Please look up the definition of racism. It does NOT only come in the form of hate. It includes prejudice as well. Obviously it has nothing to do with just being a foreigner Those people from New Zealand, Australia, the whites from America, are all foreign as well. She was flat out told that the discrimination was race related. These videos are made by black people (I guess) because hmmm let me see... we get discriminated against the most. DUH!
lecifbaby 2 months ago
@lecifbaby you're ignorant. to make it simple, it's called curiosity. even u could figure that out. lets look at the symptoms of her complaints. starring, touching her hair, pointing... these are signs of curiosity. unlike in america where it is the melting pot, we see different people on daily basis but these people especially in the country side never have. as far as work, it's inequality. it exists everywhere. here in the state,. equal employment of opportunity commission assists minorities.
kimaste 2 months ago
@kimaste Inequality based on race IS racism. What is so hard to understand about this? She can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think she accused those ajummas of being racist, but of being plain RUDE.. Curiosity is one thing. YANKING (not touching) hair and RAMMING into people is another. The combination of rudeness from one person and blatant racism from another, especially in a short span of time, was naturally very frustrating. She had every right to vent about it!
lecifbaby 2 months ago
@lecifbaby truly ignorant indeed. you take one side of the story and since you being black yourself will side with her. the fact that you take her exaggeration of yanking hair and so on as rude and racism when infact the person that yanked her hair probably politely pulled due to curiosity. is she felt it was blatantly yanking, she should have called the authority. inequlality based on race is racism or it could simply be preference. she said parents felt scared and kids prefer white teachers...
kimaste 2 months ago
@lecifbaby the fact that you think inequality equals racism and nothing else is pretty ignorant as well. inequality could be due to anything. she feels uncomfortable when koreans stare and point. well koreans perhaps feel uncomfortable around blacks? and then some of her complains go beyond ridiculousness like when she talks about "juicy girls" trying to marry black soldiers and their penal size ... trying to defend her stance? that was bad to the point its comical.
kimaste 2 months ago
@lecifbaby she is a foreigner in a new country that speaks a different language and perhaps 99% of population are koreans! she cant act like she is still living in america and that she has entitlements. she needs to embrace and learn the culture and know why certain things are done the way they are. obviously, if she feels there is clear racism, then go forward, but dont jump the gun without assessing the entire situation.
kimaste 2 months ago
@kimaste Don't even. Being black has nada to do with my stance. Whenever I have the choice to choose between hearing someone out or trying to pull what happened completely out of my asshole as you have done, well, I'm not going to choose the later 99.9% of the time. 19:46 She said the lady didn't just tug but yanked her hair. Now until that ahjumma brings her ass on YT and says that's not how it went down, I'm going to believe Avery. It's not about Black vs Asian. It's about right vs wrong.
lecifbaby 2 months ago
so parents are scared of black people and kids are more comfortable with white people?
you being a teacher yourself as you claim cant distinguish racism? being scared and not being comfortable is not racaism. racism is hate, wanting to do harm. i dont think these people hate you and want u dead. they just have their preference. yanking your hair is not being racist. just a difference in culture and curiosity. nothing you have said screams racism but a victim of inequality. look up EEOC.

Just don't let it get
to you. Be strong! Fighting! :D
Akr1Kierre 2 months ago
All people in Korea are doing is going with what they hear and see. They do this for every foreigner. I grew up with a lot of rejection from people too. We all have, especially for skin. This world is too skin involved. We all just look different. There isn't blood for a race. Just like there isn't blood for having brown eyes or being tall. We are all related and we just look different. Forgive your family. Why judge them on judging? And why do the exact same thing back to them?
Akr1Kierre 2 months ago
I can relate to what you're going through
and I'm not even in Korea yet. People in general
can experience these kind of things anywhere.
A lot of people are disrespectful. This happens
since we all are self absorbed at least a little.
Being self absorbed leads to jealousy, judging
others, and wanting to feel better than others.

MrJosephheller 3 months ago

SergeSomboracRULES 4 months ago 4
@SergeSomboracRULES Oh WOW! So, you equate that with being called racial slurs and being PHYSICALLY PROVOKED?? While your point has been well-taken (because that is a very uncouth way of asking someone about their heritage/country of origin), to compare that with what this young lady is going thru over in Korea? Having her hair pulled?? Being taunted with racial slurs??? APPLES AND ORANGES! At least us "black people" have enough respect to stop and ASK. NOT SPEW RACIAL SLURS AND PHYSICAL ABUSE!
KarmalBeauty 4 months ago
@SergeSomboracRULES So it's okay to claim the black americans are racist towards Asians yet completely disregard this girls experience. Also it's not just black people who do that to asians, all races do because people can be racist towards each other, I don't think black people do that anymore than any other group of people. I'm not gonna say that their aren't black people who do that but obviously we aren't all like that.
Jazzy115 3 months ago
@SergeSomboracRULES That's called ignorance and black people are not the only ignorant people. If you said right now that you have never seen anybody of any other race do the same ignorant thing to an Asian, you'd be lying.
Bloobymoo 3 months ago

Monieck 4 months ago
@Monieck Oh we know them. That's why we don't want them. People in places with no non-whites are the ones who are the least racist.
DollaBiIIz 4 months ago
@Monieck I agree with you to a point. Hence me living here and being the example. I don't spend all my time with foreigners, have become the "first black" to do MANY things here in Korea. This video is a FEW of my thoughts in comparing the 2 cultures/kinds of racism, in order to spur intelligent discussion. :)
AbatarTeacher 4 months ago
@AbatarTeacher I was raised in Europ. I am a mix of many coltures due to my family history. I notice that my brothers and I are more tolorent towards people that act in a differant way towards us due to our skin color.People never know where we are from exactly. And I have noticed that it makes them uneasy that they can not fit us in a box.
Monieck 4 months ago
To me thats becouse they are in a differant state of minde then what I am. Since I have so many differant coultures that I represent, my mind is constantly open to differant things. I like that every single person on earth is differant. All people teach me new ecxiding things. And all peaople in a way or another affect mylife. Thats why I make it my goal to accept people in all shapes, colors and sizes. I want to be the drop of honey on a bitter day that brightens up my neighbors day.

Don't feel too bad because the whole point of hiring white people is to geat these kids to get used to white poeple who are the majority group in America. The same applies to Korean Americans who grew up in America.. For example, if you're paying good money to learn Korean, whoudl you rather learn from a Korean guy or some White person assuming their knowledge of Korean is the same?
korkorean 4 months ago
@korkorean 0.O Sooooooooo, "black"-skinned people are not capable of teaching English because they don't speak English? If that's the case then only British people should be hired.... Oh wait! There are "black" British people that speak ENGLISH!! Oohhhh.... what to do?? LOL. Also, as a recruiter (first black btw) HERE in KOREA, I can assure you that SPEAKING ABILITY has 100% NOTHING to do with the hiring preference or procedures. Just skin. It's a sad but true reality.
AbatarTeacher 4 months ago
@AbatarTeacher Im not saying that. Im saying theres way greater chance of having to deal with a white person than a black person in America. and what these schools are trying to do it to help these korean kids to adopt to that enviroment as quick as possible. I'm sure you went through the same with Korean so you'll know that talking to a korean person and talking to some american person in korean are different.
korkorean 4 months ago

LOL
SergeSomboracRULES 4 months ago 2
@SergeSomboracRULES Also, what I am trying to say is that Koreans discriminate Asian Americans. My friends who are Asian American were not accepted into the program because an Asian was not the "image" of what the Koreans viewed as being "American". They wanted a white or black person because that is the image of "the American".
SergeSomboracRULES 4 months ago

I'm thinking of moving out of the country as well.
jisangNY1 4 months ago 3
@jisangNY1
sorry to say this but...i am african who lives and works (go to school etc.) in country near German.
as an african myself, there are more hate against outsides. its like how japanese treat chinese people( quit bad) you just cant move to an country and be like them, we got language, religion, traditions, different looks. even Kenyan people who come to Ethiopia or Somalia, are treat bad, because they got big nose and are bigger, ''bad hair'' . etc. (its a crazy world we live in:D)
MrLilort 4 months ago 3
@jisangNY1 Why move? I'm just curious as to where your flawed and OBVIOUSLY unexposed thinking comes from? Also, this isn't a complaint video. It's a comparison of realistic accounts of the attitudes towards a specific group of people in 2 specific cultures. Hence me living here and being the example.
