  • The Korean Central TV has devoted a portion of its primetime newscast to international news and sports events like the latest happenings on european football and the olympics so the olympic infrastructure is reported.

  • the reason they show the birds nest is probably because the mayday stadium in pyongyang is biggger. i believe the mayday stadium can hold over 100,000 people...

so they still feel superior. north korea is so strange. i just went there a few days ago... they hardly have electricity, and definitely no outside news sources of any kind.

my tour guide had never heard of: the beatles, madonna, bob dylan, or michael jackson, just to give you an idea of the isolation.

  • And people in the USA don't know squat about North Korean artist, music or entertainers.Hell, they don't know about N Korean movies or TV sitcoms....so who's isolated?

  • The difference is that people all over the world (not just USA) would recognise a couple of those people, but noone except North Koreans would be expected to know about North Korean artists, music or entertainers. I've never heard of bob dylan lol who is that?

  • @Choson4eva ,well thats because North Korean culture is not aggressively intrusion, expansionist, nor hegemonic based on previous global military invasions, money bribes,or control of international institutions as is the entertainment culture that stems from the USA.

  • @yorubablk3 is that sarcasm or did you forget the Korean War?

  • Neither.I was simply addressing the 'reason why' USA entertainment culture is globally ubiquitous & why the DPRKs' isn't.

  • As for the 'Korean war',60 years on,we can all see who was the 'expansionist aggressor' there. How many civil wars has N Korea instigated, countries invaded, pro DPRK puppet regimes installed or foreign resources parlayed back to the DPRK?Let's see..how about.. 0!

  • Now how about the USA?Well since 1950,Vietnam,the Dominican Republic,Haiti,Grenada,Lebanon,Sudan,Somalia,Congo,Iraq,Aphganistan...gee,i'm starting to see a pattern here!

  • I don't deny that the USA is an aggressor. There is no way that they can recoup the costs of the wars they have entered into. They genuinely believe that they are helping the people in those countries.

  • Aggressors from Alexander of Macedon to Obama always characterize their aggression as 'help'.Thats the point. But who they are actualy helping is themselves. How can one tell?Watch how the 'helping' aggressors treat those that resist their 'help'.Then the actual policy is revealed as they maim, murder & slaughter resisters & or those sympathetic to them .

  • im amazed theyr actualyy showing them the birds nest and bejing

  • I wonder what the north korean government says to its people about what the rest of the world is like.

  • Your watching a clip of that when you veiw this video..

  • Yeah they have news, they even have a 24 hour News station (almost like CNN, but not really bacause thet don't have AC). And it's state supported 100 percent, (now here's the kick in the nuts... ) There is only one person the the entire country who can get the news on TV.. it's the DEAR LEADER himself (as the north koreans address him).

  • You have brain in your head?

  • they have news in n korea? wtf?
