The rim that is the widest part of the stove is indented and works as a reservoir. Put a bit of alcohol in the indented ring and it will prime the stove very quickly. I haven't used it in cold temperatures so I don't know how well it works in that regard. In the video I filled the stove and then added fuel to the primer pan. Probably better to remove the primer pan, add 2-3 drops of alcohol, snap the stove back on then open and fill it. Less chance of spill that way. Also 2-3 drops is the max you need to prime. Too much overheats the stove makes the stove burn too fast.
