Do you think it easy to just move. Most of these people earn less that 2 american dollar a day, if so much. The country is a big mess. There are good parts of the country but can 90% of the people live there.

South Florida has been hit with mass influxes of desperate Haitian boat people in the past, with more than 100,000 picked up by the Coast Guard between 1991 and 1994, years of political turmoil in Haiti. The Coast Guard intercepted and returned 1,583 Haitians in 2007, and has picked up 490 Haitians so far this year.
Wow, why you took that shit seriously? it doesn't matter we all gunna go to hell bru. When Jesus come he aint gunna send only Haitians to hell, he gunna send all of us to hell. Don't matter where we from bru .
U.S. Coast Guard officials are closely monitoring events in Haiti on the chance that recent unrest on the impoverished island might trigger a new wave of boat people trying to flee toward Florida.
"Our patrols are at their normal levels, but when we have unrest we watch carefully to make sure we stay out front of any developing situations," said Chief Petty Officer Dana Warr of the Seventh Coast Guard District in Miami.
and i am so sicken by those americans trying to portray Haiti as this dirt poor country, when they wont even look at their own backyard. have they ever been to some part of their country and see how some of their citizens are living, disgusting, and now they billions of dlls in debt from the chinese. bunch of arrogant pigs
Yeah this is how it looks like when negros take over.........
It would be nice to know that the spirits of the thousands of French men, women, and children that were raped and slaughtered during the uprising and Haitian revolution are looking down and laughing at the pitiful descendent's of those who committed that atrocity.
French men, women and children who raped, slaughtered thousands of blacks and put them into slavery, days and night working in plantation and they would cut their arms, hang them, cut their women s belly and let unborn fetus come out in front of the fathe, subjected grown men to humiliation, and the list goes on, you must be sick to try to defend those people, you are disgusting. and if u go across america you will find similar images of poverty, and this is jst one city of haiti
the Haitians who defeated the British,Spaniards and the French, were patriots, true heroes, men of great proud, the rise up above all, and don't you ever dare try to disown them? how dare you? you dont have anything to be proud about,
Haitians never defeated the spaniards, you must read history. It was the dominicans who beated the spaniards and the haitians, and please do not come to the DR.
what, what was the point you were making abt boat people or whatever, the Dominican republic is a dirt poor country, the only difference is they have more stability bcuz of the business interest in the country, and there wasn't a Dominican republic until after 1844,because they were occupied by Haiti, so i am not really understanding what you are saying, you need to read history, the DR GAINED THEIR INDEPENDENCE FROM HAITI IN 1844,haiti got rid of the spaniar way b4 there was a DR,??????????

Read history bro, the chairman of the 1º and oldest University in the America, declare it in 1821. But Haiti had to pay the debt for it's independence from FRance so they came here and started the rob, killings and explotation nazi way. The nazi way of life.Don Jose Nuñez de Caceres. It took us 22 years but we made it. Tibet now is on a 50 year under China's boots. We are lights year apart from Haiti.20,000 haitian students here. Titid Expresident narc and coward studied here also.
We had institutions, C. Columbus and all the spaniard traditions. Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina you name it.Hospital, trees, city halls; schools. Why Gauadalupe and Martinica with the same French heritage are beter off ?WE WERE AND ARE DOING BETTER BECAUSE WE OBEY GOD'S LAWS NOT VOUDU.
I don't really get the point that you were trying to make about BOAT PEOPLE? migration is nothing new, I don't think there is any country in the world that their citizen haven't migrate to other places, whenever there is instability in a country, some of the country s citizen will seek to migrate elsewhere, that is nothing new, that s how the USA was created,by people who were fed up with their government, and take boat and try to migrate to other countries or other lands.so I don't get your point,
because just like molested child grow up to be molesters, same thing with people who don't know what its like to help or be helped. ( i m going to try to stop another kid from growing up to become like you as i help him)
The future looks worst when you consider the path we are heading in. According to the UN, the U.S. is wasting 550 lbs. of corn to make 1 gallon of ethanol. Rasing prices for corn because of ethanol, will only make hunger worst in the world. Please write to your U.S. Senators and urge them to rescind the $18 billion in tax breaks the oil industry receives. A House Bill sent twice to the Senate will use this money for the development of clean energy, but the Senate Repubicans are blocking it.
Glad that I've helped one of the kids and I will continue to give in the future. Thanks for posting this to let us know about the trip. It means a lot to me.

My wife and I had a daughter 23 years ago who had a cleft palate which was quickly repaired as we live in a developed country. We are now able to buy anything we need when we want, this year as a Christmas present to each other we sent in £300. Not everyone will be able to do as we did, but even a small amount of money can be added to other small amounts to help these poor chilren smile again. Please give if you can as once again this year will buy a child, and us, a smile for Christmas.
I just recently donated $250 to The Smile Train and I urge you all, if you can help, to please do the same! When you realize how much just a little money can do to help change a person's life, it's such a small thing to give... I hope to be able to give more soon. They deserve so much better.
it is easy to pray for this kids, but when come to giving it is hard, only 25 dollar, most of us find that it is hard, " faith without work" is nothing, only if we were in their shoe, we would understand. Most of us, church people tend to neglect this issue. Yes , just pray, but don't give. We pray cause we want something in life. But for the most part never seem to think about other first. Don't just pray , Give, " Give until it Hurt" That is True Love, Jesus Bless everyone. Peace...
Most of us have been blessed by being born and living in this country. With all we have, we still often bemoan our situations. Seeing these pictures from Haiti should make us realize how blessed we are, and how much we can do for others not nearly as blessed. Let us pray for them, and support the Smile Train and others who do so much.
It is so heart wrenching to see this; my heart, and most importantly, PRAYERS go out to all who live in such conditions. I pray the day comes when compassion for our fellow man and neighbor is paramont to all. God Bless the Smile Train for your mission and call to duty.
God bless the people who are helping these kids. We are all children of God, and he loves us so much. What an opportunity to do what God wants us to do - help one another.
I see too many filthy trashes piled up in many places in these pictures, any idea where they are from? Anybody? I will continue to support SmileTrain to help these kids.
how do we help clean Haiti up? What can we do to ship 1000,000 trash bags and people over there / organise the community to just do a massive clean up. I want to help - are there people out there already organising this kind of thing?
i've donated plenty to smiletrain, and will continue to do so. My question here though has to do with aspects of Haitian life that Smiletrain is not involved with - specifically clean up of trash... if you know of anyone working to help clean up trash in Haiti - i'd love to help by getting involved / donating etc
Don't mean to water down your good intention. But you don't have to go to Haiti and clean up. Did you ever visit the inner cities/ghettoes in America ? Great work Smile Train though, I love and support their work.
I have given in the past and still give maybe 15 or 20 dollars but when the letter for giving comes again, please believe I will give aleast 25 or more, god bless everyone.
