@holdenreds thanks, shes been off the road for 9 months now, repainted , new interior etc,all chrome redun, should be back on the road bout march 2011,not green anymore, will post new pics when ive finished, regards bob
that cam was a 41/80 waggot. solid cam,.{i think it was a .465 lift} old skool used to call them a " waggot special"ive since replaced it with a custom cam{36/74} produces a bit more torque and a bit better on fuel econ.
Yes actually, it did...I might have figured it out had the owner blipped the throttle a couple times but it actually did have that V-8 lope that you get when you have a lumpy camshaft.
What I'd really like to see is how the engine behaves on the road. It sounds very driveable.
Sounds awesome mate, what stage cam is that? I've just bought a waggot to put in my 202 too. Running a pretty similar setup to yours in my HR. except still waiting on the cam. I'm in perth too. I found my SU's chew through heaps more fuel than my prev 350holley. Cheers
Hey mate, yeah I did and I rebuilt a nice YT head for it too, added roller rockers. She's a beauty, nice and lumpy but still easy to drive. Finally got the SUs sorted properly and has been running sweet (haven't had to touch them in a year). Rust is starting to take over but my doors but. What have you put on your FE carby wise seeing as you're offloading the SUs? Can't wait to see photos of the FE makeover. Cheers
@cranberrykyle using a reline 4bl manifold and a 465 holley now[less tune ups] have a look at this on you tube 700+hp holden six... bloody awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thats a beauty mate, good work. did you get the SU's tuned proffesionally ? they can be a bit tricky apparently.
my 186 powered holden runs a similar setup, y/t head, roller rockers, o-ringed block etc but with twin strombergs....goes pretty good with the revs up, but the fuel economy would make most 4x4's look economical.
