He has talent, but to call this "Hottest Bassist, No Limits!!" is a bad move. He has talent... but, the title is sooo pretentious. The actual follow through of course does not measure up to such a high level of expectation that most of us would derive from a title such as that.
Definitely good, but of course, not the best. I mean, Stuart Ham, Victor Wooten, and many others have easily earned my respect as idols. As for Cliff Burton, guys, SHUT UP!!! Cliff was my influence when I began, but I branched away from metal. This guy is play stuff that is nothing like metal, therefore you CAN'T compare the two. Keep it up though man. you're definitely skilled, but theres always room for improvement. Give some more slap oriented stuff a try.
just turn down your boost control and it will sound great
AWESOME SOLO..don't let people EVER discourage u from your gift that God blessed you to have! i NEVER have and thats why im 17 and had the privilege of playing along side of great gospel bassist like Maurice Fitzgerald, Sharay Reed, and many more..TO GOD BE THE GLORY IN ALL YOU DO WITH YOUR MUSIC!!
The last time I read abt Cliff Burton, I learnt his term expired September 27, 1986 - He must be alive to even try to match me in playing - He was a great player though - If you could invite him over for a "Bass match", I'd agree to your statement...lol. Cheers anyway!
That wont be necessary! I guess there are better, PROGRESSIVE, living Bassists that I can relate to...HAHAHAHA. Thx 4 drapping yo camment anyway! Be good!
Cliff Burton was overrated like shit, he ain't got shit on this guy. Seriously how the fuck can someone think C.B was "that" good? Go fuck yourself dumbass hahahaha. Wooten, Marcus Miller, Flea, Sheehan > Cliff Burton
@M2SWEDEN Cliff Burton just learned Bass because James asked him to learn it. In addition to that you should be aware of that Markus Miller and all those Players play since many many many many years. Of course they are good. What do you think`?
No dumbass, Cliff Burton played bass long before he and James did meet. He played in the band "Trauma". James and Lars discovered him in a bar, they thought they listened to electric guitar but saw it was him with his distorted bass. Learn some history before you talk shit.
@JMnDC4eva any body who thinks that cliff burton (a man who's bass solos always hide behind his fuzz pedals...) is an idiot. the guy is shit.. not once did any one ever hear him playing anything other than shit metal music... THIS GUY HERE however, for a start, slaps, which is something i dont think you could ever prove that cliff burton ever did... shut up. I HATE CLIFF BURTON, HE IS SHIT. or was, he is dead.
@TommeTheBass Haha, idiot. Have you heard the break in Orion? Cliff wrote the whole thing, at the age of 24! You're welcome to do anything like it, if you'd have the talent. Or the effin' bass solo in the same song? Fine, he used fuzz, but he still kicked more ass than you or anyone you know ever will.
@Lompebroed Dude, everyone knows Cliff was skilled, but next to Jaco, Wooten, Miller, Graham and the other guys he's just a scrawny dude playing guitar on his bass.
@jagheterzack Guitar on his bass? Because he used distortion or what? Jaco & co. can have all the technical skills they want, that doesn't make their playing any less boring.
@Lompebroed I can agree that Jaco can sound a bit boring, but not Wooten and Miller. Being extremely into Burton and not realizing that he is overrated and that these guys, Jaco, Miller, Graham, Rocco Prestia, Clarke etc are better bassists, even if you don't like their music, is very "hi-I'm-fourteen-and-just-started-playing-the-bass". Yes, but not entirely. When Burton plays it doesn't sound like a distorted bass - it sounds lika distorted guitar.
@jagheterzack People forget that Cliff died at -24-. As far as he got on that time is not something to be called overrated for. If he were alive today I'm sure he would kick some serious ass, in the metal genre at least because he never would be a funk-jazzer. He had a major role in making Metallica one of the biggest metal bands ever (even if they turned the bass horribly low in mixing). I can agree that Amnesia is a bit guitar-ish, but it's really not representative for his general playing.
@jagheterzack Larry Graham is one of the best bass players ever though, 'cause he's got tha funk! But listening to a Jaco-solo only makes me want to blow my head off.
@FrizAtHome Can't say I agree, he was boring as cowshit on RHCP's new album, while Cliff just got a few years to show his worth (and still kicks the shit out of him).
@Lompebroed Looking at a musical intrument alone isolated doesn't give it justice at all. Flea's reputation doesn't come from being incredible at playing bass and hitting notes, he's better in the way that he's just a better musician in general. He doesn't just play the notes that make him sound good, he fits in his piece that makes the whole band sound good. Musicianship beats raw individual talent any day.
@FrizAtHome So is it not musicianship to be the one learning the band a shitload of theory, being the truly creative force and creating a solid background for some of the fastest guitar riffs the early 80's had to offer? Have you heard more of Cliff's bass lines than Orion and the FWTBT intro by the way?
U mad? Also, of course Cliff wasn't the best bassist in the world, but he was a great metal musician and he covered new ground by using effects pedals on the bass. It's great that you voice your opinion, but you don't have to be a douche about it.
@JMnDC4eva dumbest comment I've read in a long time, lol...! What does it have to do with the video???...get a life, dude, and let others live theirs.
@JMnDC4eva That was a really stupid comment on your part. If you even try to compare players like this it means you don't have any clue at all about music.
@JMnDC4eva Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Justin Raines, etc. can ALL beat Cliff with their hands tied to their backs. I don't know why people are so amazed by him? o.O
lol...Clapping is not a bad idea but your preference really doesnt bother me one bit - I gat my dreams to pursue Bro...Giving God the HIGHEST praise you know.
