  • why the hell did you put that music in the background, it mess everything...

  • Lol after lockpicking in Skyrim, I realize that Fallout 3´s lockping is too damn easy...

  • This might have been a lot more easy to follow along without the music..

  • just a question when the lock is broken do i have to find the key or is there another way to do it and how do i prevent locks from being broken?

  • yeah im level 28 in fallout 3 and i have no dlc's. any idea where i should be/ what i should have?

  • @FTWTallica, Hey man I recommend you get Point Lookout. It was the biggest, and most fun DLC in my opinion! :)

  • Oh, okay. I just got through a little bit of Skyrim and am LOVING the new lockpicking system. The old one in Oblivion just PISSED me off. I haven't gotten far enough into Fallout 3 to know how that lovkpicking system was, so I just thought I'd check it out. love it!

PS...the music was a little too loud, hard to hear much of anything you were saying or the click you talked about.

  • I cant hear a fucking thing for the awful fucklng music!!

Pity as it looks like a good giude.

  • Thanks so much! This helped me a lot, now I can pick locks like a pro :)

  • I'm here because I heard Skyrim's lockpicking system would be like Fallout 3, and I don't remember the lockpicking in fallout 3.

  • I love trying to hear the "tink" noise through the unneeded music.

  • Thanks, hated fallout lock picking x.x this helps.

And I don't know why people are crying over the music. You gave instructions on what to listen for.. I didn't need anything else. I know what a lock sounds like, lol.

  • Dude, what's with the fucking music?? Ruined the whole thing. People may sound like "haters" but maybe you should consider the possibility that maybe having a "soundtrack" playing isn't the best way to go with a lockpicking tutorial video.

  • @ushiwakamaru30 dude. this vid is THREE YEARS OLD! he didn't know better take a fucking chill asshole

  • @psychostink "take a chill"?? Why don't YOU take some fucking lessons asshole. Blow me.

  • @ushiwakamaru30 lessons on what? are you stupid. shut the hell up troll

  • "I heard it tink, you might not have". Well no, the damn music drowned out the game sounds, gj.

  • @DragonPurple There is no in-game sound, good job.

  • @DragonPurple same i thought. not bad cept music was distracting..

  • Everyone is right. I am trying to focus on you and all I hear is that annoying ass-twat Rudolph whatever the hell his name is. It's a bit more informative than the others, at least.

  • fuck the music, really

  • Is there a minigame online were I can play a lockpicking game like fallout's?

  • What's the purpose of the cheesy background music in this video?

  • Kind of hard to hear the supposed 'tink' with that absurd music playing. Why not stop the music (or don't play it at all!) for the tutorial? so we can hear what you are trying to show us?

  • what the F$&^ is with the music in the background?

  • four fucking minutes to chant on about lockpicking?

  • Come to think of it, i never succeeded in lockpicking, i only forced the lock but i still passed the game lol

  • awful annoying music

  • I killed eveyone in fallout 3

  • @1:45"i heard it tink, u might not of but i did..."

welll yea obviously we didnt with the loud ridiculous background music and the inability to hear any sound from the actual game at all

  • Was that a tink I heard? Nope, I'm pretty sure it was drums

  • Lol I guess I can listen well because I heard every fucking word he said

  • @TheTiger1652 i couldnt hear anything he was saying, no one is hating. they are just explaining why this guy shouldnt have put the music.

  • music ruined the video

  • "You may not have heard the tinking, but I did"

What about this made music seem like a good idea?

  • @TheTiger1652 lockpicking in a game is success ? ok your weird

  • Thanks for the tip, no thanks for the music

  • What's the point of telling us to "listen" to the lockpicking sounds when you're blaring that music?

It'd be a great tutorial if i could actually, you know..., HEAR.

  • whenever i lockpick in fallout and new vegas i only turn the pin all the way to the left and i dont ever move the screwdriver. then i open the door or whatever. so its really not that hard.

  • How about you repost that tutorial without that horrible music?

  • Good tutorrial, Id imagine. I couldn't tell because I couldn't hear/pay attention with that horribly bad song playing over you.

  • i play on 360 or ps3 i got both but only got fallout 4 da 360

  • How to unlock the door: Press "~" Then click on the door then type "unlock" If You don't want to follow me then fuck you :P

  • thank you, nice help

  • ffs, WHY did you add that music? It's so freaking hard to concentrate on what you're saying with that music on

  • yeah the music just ruined this

  • thanks for the vid it really worked thanks. My friend is a little bit nooby on picklocking so i'll show him this vid so he can learn from the master XD

  • I've also found that if you're on the wrong side of the lock, you'll almost automatically stop

  • when it has average lock level it has a 90 percent change that the bobby pin needs to be in an 45° angle left or right ..from then on with difficult and very difficult lock level it varies

  • THE EASIEST THINGY TO DO IS TO SAVE JUST BEFORE AND KEEP FORCING LOCK UNTIL U ACTUALLY FORCE IT OPEN AAND IF U BREAK IT U JUST LOAD GAME

  • @tearah53 that'd just mean you have no skill in picklocking

  • Shrapnel is a douche.. Ransack his room!

  • The editing may have sucked, but thanks to this guy I can now successfully pick locks.

  • Hey thanks

  • dude, the loud music while explaining what sound the lock should make is really bad idea

  • I don't bother with that--I just force the lock and load until it works.

  • i had some glitch in my game and i picked EVERY lock even very hard locks and i dint had to turn my bobbypin around no where

  • Thanks for the voice explanation. Without it it is impossible to hear the clinks with your music. Why include music? It's pretty distracting...

  • @f1ref0x he said in the vid's annotations that he wasn't good with FRAPS and so couldn't get in-game sounds to work

  • @Leon962 you're the man!

  • Nice SOng!

  • Please don't include music, I couldn't hear the tinks.

  • Lock picking involves listening, you even said it yourself. This video would have been helpful except that I couldn't hear anything. Music was a bad idea.

  • why do people insist on placing music on instructional videos. if i want music, i download music. i dont search tutorials to listen to music.

  • Couldn't hear what you were saying over the music.

  • Yes, the music was a very bad idea. Don't do it again.

  • stupid music didnt let me hear the clinks on the lock.

  • What the hell is up with the music you idiot?

  • wtf is up with the music asshole

  • yeah the sound is tricky part...sometimes there are 2 or more "tink" sound

  • move your mouth farther away from the mic.

  • Every thinks they are a music producer. If you hadn't put that annoying garbage in the background, it would have been easier to hear what you were saying. :p

  • Why are all these tutorials so hard to hear? If you are trying to explain something at least turn the freaking music down.

  • just save before u pick the lock and use force lock if it fails load the save and it will eventually work it can take from 3 tries 2 about 10 but it eventually works

  • @rocketgun567 that's what I do..except on very easy locks

  • Comment removed

  • Well thanks for the tuto. I had no idea how to do it.. It isnt intuitive at all at least you already did it on real life like rhymeskill :p

  • @fragsman

Yup mate not really intuitive at all. There isn't a tut ingame or something to show us a lil bit of the way to go. I don't mean to give the player all the cheese but just a tiny hint on how to start it. Oh well... we're glad there's youtube and ppl helping out. A bit of a shame I can't understand very well how "tink" sounds like. But hey there are other videos no need harsh comments as I see here. If it doesn't fit one's needs moving along to the next vdo is the thing to do. Cheers

  • nice song for this i guess but nice thats gonna help alot and btw halomaster1211 u are a class A dumbass

  • *Try to talk to megaton settler*

    *Steal ashtray on accident*

*Whole town tries to kill you*

    Ily2 fallout 3

  • how can i hear sht with that music,,lol

  • could you please get rid of the music??

  • wors tutorial i have ever seen

  • The music ruined the whole clip xD

  • Worst tutorial ever....

  • Exactly the music was not needed but thanks for explaining this, new to fallout and couldn't figure this out but you should reupload the video without the gay music.

  • In New vegas ive got like 60 bobby pins good that i suck at LPing

  • Thanks dude, you got me ready for new vegas

  • ok not being hater but tell me if you agree on the 360 (don't know about ps3) where you hit the end of the rotation you can do the controler vibrates

  • what was with the fucking music? when you sit down to a lecture, does your professor start playing club music? no, because its distracting

  • @tess55 dont cry dude

  • good totorial though

  • i can pick most locks in 10 seconds

  • Awesome! Thanks!

  • is there a game just for lockpicking like this??

  • thank youu

  • you'll hear the gay club sound "pppchikachika"

  • i can't hear you

  • oh thats how... thanks

  • kinda hard to explain a skill that involves listening with the music ehh

  • its not the lack of "tinks" that anoyed me, it was the painfully-bad song...

  • lol i have like 200 boby pins

  • could mabe hear it if it wasnt for the gay music

  • i did this from a start

  • thx act i USE hack terminal ALL ways YOU CAN SAY

  • not that the music is loud - it just sucks!

  • lol i do it to the full and almost always get it... but meh

  • Wow the music is really loud. I can't hear anything.

  • all you half to do is move it side to side fast

  • what do i do if it brakes or were can i get a new one

  • sweet man thanks

  • did you know the lock pick glich? spin the booby pin all the way to the left, then break it, as soon as you do... force the lock.... i have yet to test it yet...

  • nice, it's good to see people who know what there doing, keep up the good work.

  • Thank You!

  • ty dude this has allways been a pain in the ass for me

  • u suck how am i supposed to hear a tink when the music is blarring over ur voice

  • i didn't understand the video because of the frikin music. It would be good if you turned it off.

  • FUCK YOU

  • I might have been able to hear the tinks if there was no damn music. Oh well, thanks anyway.

  • nice music but if your going to tell us to listen for a tick then take it off

  • thanks man that helped but turn off the music

  • dude get the Fu*king music off!!!

  • if your bobby pin is about to burst, just wait and do nothing for 5 - 10 seconds, then your bobby pin will be good as new..... because your bobby pin can only take a small amount of failing at lockpicking at a time....

  • you could twist the pick all the way to the right and force pick the door will open and the pin wont break much easier than spinning and breaking the effin pick

  • putting that music to such a tutorial was the WORST idea ever.

  • pwnd

  • Who the fuck thought it'd be a good idea to add music to a tutorial?

  • i got locked in that room before and i had to start the game over it was my only profile:(((((((

  • @snuggl3s123 You could have used a console command to get out....

  • @snuggl3s123 thats happend to me too. and do u know what he told me? "its locked for a reason".... hes a pervert

  • yeah dude thanks for making a tutorial, i sincerely mean that but seriously you're blasting a godawful song in the background please don't do that it makes my head hurt and i can't listen for the TINK!!!!!!!

  • OMG thanx so much Iv been trying to figure this out for AGES!!!!!

  • well it would help to hear a tink if the god damn music was off

  • Music sux

  • OH! YOU CAN MOVE THE BOBBY PIN!?! Damn, that would have been helpful. I guess I should've read the in-game tutorial.

  • great video and it helped me well, but it would have been much easier to watch without the music! Thanks though.

  • Fucking music is giving me a fucking headache!

  • The guide helped a lot but the music was annoying.

  • thruout fallout i only had 2 bobby pins. now i have zero. cant seem 2 find any. any suggestions as to where i can buy/find pins??

  • @thenineminusone Have you gone to the Super-Duper Mart and found any yet, cause if you haven't there are some bobby pins in the cash registers.Try all of them but I think bobby pins are in the ones on the floor.

  • @DomithewHowamy9371 thx u sir! found 20 pins @ the mart. ur tha shyt!

  • Well explained! Just too bad no one could hear the tink sounds you were talking about because of the music.

  • not helpful at all why do lots of people have it for pc i got it on xbox.

  • where the hell can i find a shitload of lockpicks..i have like 3

  • Thanks, man!

P.S. Where did you get that awesome armor?

  • Nice movie. Skip the music next time.. we can't hear the "clink" sound.

Anyway keep up the good work.

  • you should have turned down the music a bit.

  • man your good dude lol

  • i cant here the tinx!!!!!!!

  • thank you baby!!

  • I am a licensed locksmith and that's actually how you pick a lock in real life. You basically are trying align the pins(tumblers) in the cylinder core with the sheer line that allows for you to rotate the cylinder core far enough to unlock the "lock".

  • So here's the question. Would this method (shown in-game) work in real life on modern locks?

  • Ok, not with a bobby pin but there are lock picking tools called rakes. You would actually rake the pins in the cylinder until they all lined up while slightly putting pressure to turn the cylinder with either a small screwdriver or tool specifically designed to spin the cylinder. You add light pressure which holds the pins as they line up. You can hear the clicks most of the time. Most cylinders have 5-6 pins. You hear 5-6 clicks and turn. That's a really simple way of explaining it. Search it.

  • @rhymeskill Are you referring to the video? Because as far as I know, rotating a bobby pin around in a lock will not push the tumblers up. If you were replying to someones comment, I apologize in advance.

  • @SavageArms357

Yes, actually you would not normally use a bobby pin. For locksmith there are tools called rakes that come in different thicknesses and have different shapes like a "s" or "z" type of shape. Some are longer than others and have more or less up and down edges. What you do is rake the pins while putting pressure with a turning tool or flathead screwdriver just slightly. As you rake the pins they will click when lined up with the sheer then when you have them all the cylinder spins

  • @SavageArms357

That's a simple way to put it. There are kits you can buy that come with multiple rakes and turning tools. The method is not difficult but some cylinders have side pins and others have pins on both the top and bottom such as cars. But for the standard 5-6 pin lock cylinder it's not difficult. Just takes time and practice since it's mostly about feel. I make my own rakes.

If your an experienced you can make your own rakes from bobby pins and other small flat pieces of metal.

  • @rhymeskill Yes, but what I'm saying is the fallout 3 method of lock-picking is quite inaccurate. Wouldn't you agree?

  • @rhymeskill wow thats intresting is there a difference in difficultly of picking the lock depending on what type it is? Or are they all the same

  • @rhymeskill YEAH YEAH!!!! NO ONE CARES!!!!

WE PUT THUMBS UP BECAUSE YOU´R RIGHT BUT THIS IS A GAME NO ONE CARES!!!!!!!

  • @Halomaster1211 That comment was nine months ago idiot

  • @rhymeskill will you actually hear tinks in real life aswell though???

  • finaly! this video was much more helpfull than 10 text tutorials..

  • Thanks for the awesome vid man :D

  • Cheers dude :D

  • what is the name of the music?

  • @Orcarinamaster Let It Rock by Kevin Rudolph

  • music is annoying
