Oh, okay. I just got through a little bit of Skyrim and am LOVING the new lockpicking system. The old one in Oblivion just PISSED me off. I haven't gotten far enough into Fallout 3 to know how that lovkpicking system was, so I just thought I'd check it out. love it!
PS...the music was a little too loud, hard to hear much of anything you were saying or the click you talked about.
Thanks, hated fallout lock picking x.x this helps.
And I don't know why people are crying over the music. You gave instructions on what to listen for.. I didn't need anything else. I know what a lock sounds like, lol.
Dude, what's with the fucking music?? Ruined the whole thing. People may sound like "haters" but maybe you should consider the possibility that maybe having a "soundtrack" playing isn't the best way to go with a lockpicking tutorial video.
@psychostink what a fucking moron. "this vid is THREE YEARS OLD!" So lemme get this straight, 3 years ago, he was too stupid to watch his own video and realize there's something seriously wrong with it? LOL. Seriously, shut the fuck up. No one's talking to you asshole.
Everyone is right. I am trying to focus on you and all I hear is that annoying ass-twat Rudolph whatever the hell his name is. It's a bit more informative than the others, at least.
Kind of hard to hear the supposed 'tink' with that absurd music playing. Why not stop the music (or don't play it at all!) for the tutorial? so we can hear what you are trying to show us?
whenever i lockpick in fallout and new vegas i only turn the pin all the way to the left and i dont ever move the screwdriver. then i open the door or whatever. so its really not that hard.
thanks for the vid it really worked thanks. My friend is a little bit nooby on picklocking so i'll show him this vid so he can learn from the master XD
when it has average lock level it has a 90 percent change that the bobby pin needs to be in an 45° angle left or right ..from then on with difficult and very difficult lock level it varies
Lock picking involves listening, you even said it yourself. This video would have been helpful except that I couldn't hear anything. Music was a bad idea.
Every thinks they are a music producer. If you hadn't put that annoying garbage in the background, it would have been easier to hear what you were saying. :p
just save before u pick the lock and use force lock if it fails load the save and it will eventually work it can take from 3 tries 2 about 10 but it eventually works
Yup mate not really intuitive at all. There isn't a tut ingame or something to show us a lil bit of the way to go. I don't mean to give the player all the cheese but just a tiny hint on how to start it. Oh well... we're glad there's youtube and ppl helping out. A bit of a shame I can't understand very well how "tink" sounds like. But hey there are other videos no need harsh comments as I see here. If it doesn't fit one's needs moving along to the next vdo is the thing to do. Cheers
Exactly the music was not needed but thanks for explaining this, new to fallout and couldn't figure this out but you should reupload the video without the gay music.
did you know the lock pick glich? spin the booby pin all the way to the left, then break it, as soon as you do... force the lock.... i have yet to test it yet...
if your bobby pin is about to burst, just wait and do nothing for 5 - 10 seconds, then your bobby pin will be good as new..... because your bobby pin can only take a small amount of failing at lockpicking at a time....
you could twist the pick all the way to the right and force pick the door will open and the pin wont break much easier than spinning and breaking the effin pick
yeah dude thanks for making a tutorial, i sincerely mean that but seriously you're blasting a godawful song in the background please don't do that it makes my head hurt and i can't listen for the TINK!!!!!!!
@thenineminusone Have you gone to the Super-Duper Mart and found any yet, cause if you haven't there are some bobby pins in the cash registers.Try all of them but I think bobby pins are in the ones on the floor.

The method is not difficult but some cylinders have side pins and others have pins on both the top and bottom such as cars. But for the standard 5-6 pin lock cylinder it's not difficult. Just takes time and practice since it's mostly about feel. I make my own rakes.
If your an experienced you can make your own rakes from bobby pins and other small flat pieces of metal.
