So, The food impaction between 30 & 31 wasnt the etiology???? Cuz the contact between them was still open !!!!! So what was the reason for the vertical defect in the first place??????
(Cont. From last comment) are there any offices in Las Vegas NV that offer this specific treatment? I have small gaps in the top of my teeth resulting from recession. Is there any cosmetic way to fix this with out having to get my gums cut open, I'm willing to try anything. But If worst comes to worst I'm willing to do a gum graft. Will this fix the spaces?
Okay so I have a couple quick questions. Will this laser clean in between the teeth, like where someone would floss? And does pocket depth matter with the laser. I have 7-10mm pockets and I don't want osseous surgery because of the way I'll look after. Also I seen that the results are the same no matter who it is, is this true? I'm 16 years old and neglected oral care and now I'm afraid that I'm Going to look like I've chewed on rocks all my life. Another important question is are there any off
@ReConVaporZz If you have periodontal pockets of 7 and 10 mm you are most likely a very good candidate for the LANAP laser procedure. The procedure will clean between your teeth. For more information visit LaserGumDentist . com
Considering how great this is and all and with the seeming ease that you dentists do this treatment, wouldn't you think the price would be about half what you charge? This way more people could be healed of this awful disease. The only pain a patient feels is in their pocketbook later. Seriously, how much an hour do you get for this?
@pstreicher It is a steal at 10x the fee. click on the link laser Gum Dentist .com and click on cost of surgery for my explanation on fees. BTW do you have an automobile? How much did you pay? Wow for a piece of sheet metal and rubber that will be useless in 10 years or 100,000 miles which ever comes first. Seriously, what are your teeth worth to you? How much do you think I paid for the laser? When asked I tell my patients I paid 3x what I paid for my car. BTW it's a Jag.
Have you ever seen a periapical lesion fill in after an endo? Or if you broke your arm would it heal? Same principal. What we are able to do is create a closed environment with the laser.
periapical lesion have, at least, 3 wall of bone, wich can efectvely repair the defect.if you broke your arm, have enough blood irrigation, steem cells, growth factors and so on from the fractured bone.
But, in periodontal desease, is all diferent.
the numbers of bone walls are decreased (such in horizontal bone loss) compromising the amounth of regenerating cells. moreover, the unique souce of periodontal regenerative cells are from periodontal ligament.
@Motoclubzapotlan Sorry for the late reply I was at the AAP meeting. Stem cells are in the Alveolar bone. The laser creates an environment for regeneration. The blood that is produced after SRP is poached with the laser. Think of blood being a liqud protien simmilar to an egg. What hapens when you heat up an egg? Same thing hapens to the blood, this creates a stabil fibrin clot that acts like a scafold for regeneration.
There is no long-term randomized clinical trial supporting use of Laser in Perio. Quoting one histological study is not convincing and has no signififcant value.
This is so commercial...that is what the company says. There were 6 teeth! That just tells you that we can't do human studies in the USA...does not mean it works or that the literature is superior.
No it was 12 teeth. The third largest human histological study of its kind in the periodontal literature. Do you know haw hard it is to do human histology?
There is kind of alot of lit supporting this... But it I dont care, it flat out works. Ive seen dozens and dozens of charts. There is no doubting it anymore in my eyes. This is rapidly becoming the standard of perio care.
No dilema get what you would want in your own mouth. Get the one that has the science to back it up. Get the one that has FDA clearence to reverse periodontal disease. Get the one that received a 9.7 out of 10 in the CRA newsletter.
@tlesgdds I'm a general and my results are the exact same as any periodontist performing this procedure. That is the beauty of LANAP, everybody gets the same results, if an oral surgeon could do this, or an endodontist, or a hygienist, they would all get the same result.
The total amount is extremely high -- almost $14000. OUCH, and ouch again if I do nothing. So the pain is major -- but what else can I do. I have done the regular approach and that is not working! Do you have any other ideas???
In our office it is about $5000 if you compare that to one implant with bone grafting it is about the same, though with the lanap it should save all the remaining teeth.
1 implant with grafting = $5000
32 remaining teeth = $5000
And if you break it down to $100 a month not to bad to keep YOUR teeth healthy.
Thank you soo much for all your help. As I mentioned before I am going to look for the best way to finance this whole process and go back to my dentist for all the procedures. I will however talk more to him about the splinting (somehow I do not like it) - thought about the invasilign (would that help?) You were quite helpful, because if I do not do anything I will end up with dentures. Not a very good prospect. Thanks again.
Yes, I am definitely strongly considering financing. I am in very bad situation. I had dentists and the hygienist always give me a dirty look when they checked my gums. My gums started to bleed in teens and I did a lot for them -- but nothing really helped. Even with all the regular check ups and cleanings and home brushings my gums are very bad.

This is crap and any patients reading this...this GP is a salesman. Periodontal surgery, time tested and performed by ALL periodontists in the USA is less than this "laser magic" Cost is more of an issue when his patients have to be re-treated with a periodontist later on.
Have you done Lanap? Do you know that last year 45% of Periolase owners were Periodontists? In the general population the ratio is less than 5%. Did you know all have had a 6 month money back guarantee? Did you know no GP or Perio has ever returned one in over 12 years that this guarantee has been in effect? Why do you think that is?
@tlesgdds He is right, i am a general denist, i was super sceptical about this thing but my boss bought it, I trained for LANAP and tried it on a few patients who needed osseous surgery but didn't want to go. I even did the few few patients treatments free of charge because i didn't think it would work. It worked better than I imagined it would. I saved every tooth, all pocket depths reduced (some were 10's that went down to 3's) and now there is no need for flap surgery. it was pain free
@tdcooper I too was a skeptic. Don't you think it is pathetic what the ADA and the AAP have said regarding LANAP? Considering the evidence regarding Perio and systemic health IMO it is crimminal.
