@SshotaLover no, they have little flashlights. I think its more to indicate that there are no lights on or anything and it is still quite dark. even with a flashlight it would be very dark.

If I'm not mistaken those lights are infrared lights.

The thermal camera is capturing the reflected heat signature of Nick as it pans by. Nick's is looking down the hall and the "spirit" is looking in the same direction with the same profile as Nick.  That's why technology in the hands of people that don't understand how it works is very misleading. You don't have to be a scientist, just read the manual.

About the thing at 05:41. You can see Zak down the hall and at the last moment before the cut away, he tilts his camera up slightly. and the camera's light casts a shadow of his head and shoulders. It had me going there for a minute though, like the "gun-toting" limo driver in the Zapruder film. Part of you wants to believe it, but it just makes the real evidence even more compelling.
