Grizzly - it's a bizarre road You could go 2-3 weeks during morning rush without any major problems then get a stretch of days where it backs up to the Apex/Holly Springs border at Sunset and Main St. I think the year round school schedule can change the flux of the traffic.
From the center of HS to the border of Raleigh can take less then 15 minutes without traffic. If you are leaving HS between 7:30 & 8:30 AM you generally going to need 25 minutes to get there.
It's just as bad, yeah. From 4pm to 6pm, pretty much ANY road leaving Raleigh, Cary, or Apex royally fucked... I-440 (outer) in particular. It's not uncommon on most of these roads to be puttering along (stop and go) at 20mph for 5 miles or more.
Fuck NC in general i cant wait till im 18 so i can move back up to philly and get away from these douche bag home owner comities and soccer mom's. stupid rednecks.
@milieubluez - Old question, I know. From Holly Springs to Raleigh is about 30 - 40 minutes, depending on where in Raleigh and traffic of course. Like evan22303 mentions below, it's a pretty straight shot down US 1.
That's the only traffic problem commuting to Raleigh. It's gonna get worse with the fast growing population of Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina. Once You get on US 1, you can get to Raleigh in 20 minutes. I can't wait til I540 comes around.

Well we, like everyone else are planning on moving to the area in a year.
Anyway, my question is how long does it take to commute to Raleigh from Holly Springs? And is I540 going to fix the problem?
Thanks

Memo to the RTP fucks...
Durham is right on top of RTP...so move to Durham!!!

@summer4autumn - This and your other comment are just ignorant. Sometimes people have to live further away from their jobs for one reason or another.

That traffic would be non-existant if the RTP fucks didn't insist on living 45 minutes away from their jobs.
