I Googled and found the "99.73%" quote you recited. I interpreted it as a referendum of sorts held in Austria after the Nazis already conquered them. It is a vote taken under Nazi occupation and the results are counted by the Nazis. In other words, it means nothing. Well it's an 8 hour course about the American Constitution so most the time he talks about America. The holocaust was used as an example since people are familiar with it.

And liberty comes from humanity. How stupid and naive a person has to be to believe that others are not human beings or that he is ubermensch. Well it was possible, there was no TV, showing more clever, more fit, etc. than we are. There was no religion and objective media in Germany, no one explained poor and uneducated people that there's something wrong happening. Always look for OBJECTIVE media, presenting all the opinions, and historical facts.

It's a nice point he makes in the end. But his explanation of the Hollocast is not completely genuine. he's really (to) straight on the WWII topic.

Hitler managed to activate people to for battle groups, which organised punished people that had another opinion than theirs. So first the people were pro a better economic situation, then they did not want to revolt agains the ideas of Hitler because the population that could attack you fiercely was huge by that time.

No one layed down and give up their rights.. if you protest against the media, the Jews obviously had their own newspapers, if they didn't "exist" they were destroyed.. It is in human nature to protest. Homosexuals were the first to be considered non-humans--

I don't believe that anyone could assume people just didn't protest. I'm certain there was writing; just because he didn't read an artical in a "Jewish" newspaper or in discussion ect... I assume such newspapers were actually destroyed. Rise up, secret police got you, I suppose even today in many different countries.. but never assume that a group of people never complained.. take for example Homosexuals who's rights were gone long before Hiltler's "final solution" was in full swing.

Controversial subject matter. But a great point. This stuff is really important. We have a lot of rights in the US, but we probably take them for granted now, and some of them are slipping away.
