I like the Spanish version lyrics way better, it has a better story and a better emotion with the usage of the words... whoever did the translation had a great talent for lyrics!
I love both Frida's and Gemini's version of the song. It is such a superior song it would be difficult to do it any injustice (though the"Muriendo Lento" interpretation comes dangerously close!). I think my favourite is from Frida though, because it's the first version I heard and therefore feels like "the original" and also simply because it is Frida. The ideal of course would have been Frida and Agnetha together with production by B & B. In other words, a purely ABBA song.
pues a mi me gusta muchisimo ocn timbiriche e incluso mas con belinda y eso qeu mis gustos de musica retro y buena musica son usperiores en relidad es buena la original
Having had Fridas version 1st,I couldn't believe it was a B&B song,it was so ordinary. When I got Gemini's version it blew me away as B&B produced it..I love Frida but I dislike the production..Rock on B&B..
By the way, if you search here in Youtube "Belinda y Moderatto Muriendo Lento", there's the videoclip of another cover of Slowly released not too many years ago.
@GlenmarksTV hoo yeah ... this moderatto and timbiriche covers were BIG hits here in america for spanish speakers ..... u can ask anybody who speaks spanish if they know "mueriendo lento" and theyll sing it for u!
Something in this song is sampled I think I am trying to figure it out which music group its that beat that keeps going da da da pause da da da pause da da da it was some guy singer anyone know that beat is sped up in the background?
Nothing in this recording has been sampled - It's all composed by Andersson/Ulvaeus. But if it sounds like another song, I would be interested to hear it! Thank you.
Gemini's and Frida's versions are produced so differently from eachother that it's difficult to compare them. I like them equally. As an ABBA fan, I love Frida's version for the most obvious reason: Frida is singing. It also retains a bouncier feel to it and so many of ABBA's sadder songs has this uptempo feel (The Winner Takes It All, When All Is Said And Done, Angeleyes etc). And as for Gemini, read below:
... From an ABBA fan's perspective, Gemini's recording certainly benefits from Björn's and Benny's input. It's as if Frida is simply singing the song in a straight-forward manner, whereas Gemini are 'acting' the song (like Agnetha did in The Day Before You Came) and they have variation in their voices in each verse. The "fade in, fade out" approach works excellently here, but isn't as successful on other tracks from the 'Gemini' album, which is available with 7 bonus track on CD from me.
Excellent. I like both versions, But the arrangement here is stunning. First rate.

Great version of this song - to me, the Frida version lacked something.

This is nice, but I do prefer Frida's version, it's not as stilted, if you can hear that too. But it's nice that they are singing a duet.

Agree - the 'ordinary' melody is transformed by the imaginative production.

I think both Frida and Gemini's versions are very good. Frida's gives a resigned and ironic touch; this one is piercing

The arrangement of the Frida's version is quite dull, in my opinion. The song had a potential that Lillywhite failed to explore.
