Claggy your almost right. Scott Gottlieb was my cousin..my hero. and i miss him so much. they wrote this song FOR scott when he was in the hospital and it gave scott that boost to finish his first and last album. and it was originally in acoustic yes.

ok dude the original song is acoustic i actualy know keith and when this song was written it was intended to be acoustic they only played non acousticly after the new line up was complete

Wrong, they recorded the non-acoustic version with the original lineup, when Scott Gottlieb was on drums. He pretty much got out of the hospital, recorded Build by Blood, and died of leukemia shortly after the album was released. I'm pretty sure that the lyrics to Broken Wings were written by Scott as well while he was in the hospital during the making of Asleep.

He did the greatest thing for his band though. I read this somewhere I think, while he was in the hopsital. He actually got up, even though he knew he was dying, went and recorded all the drum tracks for the album before he passed.
