Actually, since at least the 1960s or '70s, there were concerns that skimpy underwear for men was not healthy for fertility! Nick certainly made the healthy retro alternative look attractive!

This is such a clever advert in being that it was set in the 1950s retro era yet was actually realised in 1985 and there is an example of a anachronism so its ironically used in this advert but it is unlikely that many would spot this point which is that the music "heard it through the grapevine" was realised in the 60s.
