I will tell you one thing, if Runescape was not and MMO I would not put as much time and effort into the game as I have. So for me it's the human interaction that keeps bringing me back to the game and how you can share you accomplishments and compete with other players which I find a lot of fun.

Quit. Was offered 12m from a friend to play again, got 3months membs, went broke, and still play. If you go broke there is less motivation... but evertually you will want to play and you will get addicted again...
I quit RS because i was broke...but then my friend (total RS freak) offered me 100m!!!!!! so i got hooked on RS again...but i PKED alot and lost alot of money cuz of armour/arrows and mage..i was a hyrid/tank eventually i got to the point of down to like 1m and couldnt do anything cuz i couldnt afford the good armour and good stuff i needed to win...so what im saying is...if you lost all you good stuff, god armours/swords/cash and all that...you will have no motivation to play the game...

People get excited over accomplishments, whether it's getting a lvl 99 skill cape, or dominating other players, people always look for goals and runescape has the most straight forward goals and accomplishments, you can literly plan out when you will accomplish it , and when you do theirs a new one, it's never that ONE task, people are just addicted to accomplishments overall

Answer: getting a 99 is exciting because all that time u spent trying to get it has finally payed off , think about soccer they kick a ball in the net but it means alot, same with rs

Runescape is addicted for a reason that it has all these new cool skills and stuff coming out like graphic also it might be because you set yourself a goal for something e.g aiming for 60 wc you like it or something and the you want to train it more and more.Then another shit or something comes out and you want to try it. So thats in my opinion why rs is adictive

man i wanted 99 fishing so badly that i overshot it and got tired of playing everyday so i quit for like 3 months but then somehow i came back and alomst at 90 fishing :D

I can probs give the only real reasonable explanation to why is runescape addicting, I used to play back in 2001 runescape classic, i am currently playing it ATM, but i quit for 5 years, It is SO Addictive because runescape is NEVER ending, and theres always a reason to play it, theres always a goal to achieve, even with everything 99 and maximum money, the game is constantly updated, new mini games or quests even items, so the game is never ending.
That is why its so addictive.

i soo agree it is sooo addicting.. im 16 and i quit for a year but i came back.. its just theres always something to do on runescape something to accomplish.. a goal and thats the addicting part. i think people just need to look for a better hobby i found bmx, and thats one thing ill choose over runescape.. and girls.. but i think its harder to quit runescape then it is smoking. -any feedback??

well runescape is awesome and i am like 50 50 meaning i play runescape 50% of the time and then somtig else but what i am saying is people like vidieo games and there is just one that they love and enjoy but they play it alot and then it gets to them and yes it is sad but it is like a do-alike meaning they do thing same things every day so they body gets used to it a it makes you do it alot more dont know if i am right but hope this helped!

People get excited over accomplishments, whether it's getting a lvl 99 skill cape, or dominating other players, people always look for goals and runescape has the most straight forward goals and accomplishments, you can literly plan out when you will accomplish it , and when you do theirs a new one, it's never that ONE task, people are just addicted to accomplishments overall
