lots of animals die being torture by us, humans. why dont we sent a heartless human to die in space alone? Dogs and animals have more feelings than humans that join to kill people just cause of our rase or beliefs. am pretty shure that DOG is still alive right now, cause god saw a tiny loyal dog that has the guts to do it.

Laika did not choose to be remembered as some "brave" little sacrifice for the glory of some damn human or country, no matter who or where they or it was. All i can think of is that poor little dog, abandoned once again, & dying all alone & slowly in the icy emptiness of space, wondering why no one came for her -- why no one cared, even to her final tortured breath. Its never, ethically or morally, about our triumphs or failures. Its about that precious little life, in every case.

We shouldn't have sent ANYONE - dog or human - until it was possible to bring him/her back alive. That's the point.
If the russians had waited just a couple more months, it would have been possible to send a retriavable module like Gagarin's, and so Laika could have come back alive. But they wanted to beat the americans at the space race, at ANY cost. So, they did a rushed job, which caused the death of Laika.
