such an obvious tool assist video, ive been playing this game for almost 20 years and i know most of the things in this playthrough cannot be done from just practice. and i play max too, shame on you to hide the truth to gullible ppl.

The fact that he DIDN'T mention whether or not the run is tool assisted makes me suspect that he did in fact use savestates/slowdown to make this run. Compare this to XeroShinobi's no damage run of SOR1: in the first game, it's super easy to abuse the long stun window with quick punches over and over to make an infinite combo. The game is overall much easier due to enemies being less cheap/having very exploitable AI, and thanks to how powerful simple jabs are, so that at least is believable.

XeroShinobi also made mention that it was not tool-assisted, and judging by some close calls combine with the overall ease of SOR1's Hardest difficulty compared to SOR2 Mania, I think it's safe to say SOR1 can be done no-damage without tool assistance. But SOR2 on Mania? I dunno, the bit at 4:58 looks very suspect as far as using tool assistance goes.

Either it's a tool assisted run, or it took him years and years of practice, but my bet's on tool assistance.

@BigDaddyAEL1964 - You always get a 1 second or so invincibility phase after knocking down an enemy, so that's basically what happened in that Isotope situation! It's like any normal punk, if you take them down, and then they hit you, the first hit doesn't normally connect, but the second one will!

I kind of play like this when I use Max on Mania, except I spend a credit. I can picture someone more skilled than me to practice and memorize all the enemy patterns and make a no-damage run. Great videos!
