The boats old and falling apart so when you check it back in you will have lost your deposit.

Our guests have the opportunity to document the status of the boat with a licensed coast guard captain before and after their rental. Damage that is not normal wear and tear is charged to the operator of the boat just like with a rental car.

I can appreciate the disappointment of an unplanned expense during a vacation. On the rare occasion that a renter has damaged the boat, I return the balance of the deposit promptly as specified in the rental agreement.
