And yes, I had to deal with slow elevators, and waiting for elevators longer than I wanted to sometimes, and (gasp) even taking the stairs sometimes! I also carried tons of luggage downstairs on check-out day due to the jam-packed elevators. But you know what, guys? Stuff happens. Sometimes life doesn't go perfectly. I'm gonna like this video. Mostly because I'm just laughing at all the Americans who find it totally incomprehensible to just take the stairs. From the sounds of it, you'd be waiting for ages for the lift without the people just having a bit of fun. @Niallissoawesome Hate to break it to you, but for some of us, who were on the 20 (my sister) or 30 (Noah Antwiler) something floors, stairs are NOT an option. Period. I was on the 14th floor, and I ultimately had to resort to stairs the last night. I nearly passed out once I got to my bed, and not in the good way. What these twatwaffles did was inconsiderate, rude, and stupid. Lazy? Maybe, but laziness on the part of one party, does not excuse the other party's rudeness.

They might not be responsible for the elevator problems, but it looks like they made it worse. The last clip showed a bunch of people crowding around the elevator "dancing." No one gets on or off. Implies that you guys used an elevator for your own purposes. and only one elevator was available to everyone else. If you guys don't provide a full explanation, most people would see this and assume the worst.
If guests start complaining, I don't think you could defend it. We'll see next year.

I personally flew all the way from Belgium to Virginia to visit magfest with a few american e-palls I have, mostly to meet 'team ttwtg' These bastards just ruined my day, my weekend, my year! And no, I couldn't 'just take the stairs' because one of my friends has had knee surgery and wasn't able to use the stairs for a month.

@DamienThornes What you need to understand is that, in general, the elevator waits were monstrosities. What many people are assuming due to ill legitimate information, is that we were "riding the elevators" when that was just not the case. Anyone who ridden an elevator with us KNEW that we would always carry a speaker with us (3 guys) in the events of their being people on it or not, would start music and have a party. Never did we ride the elevator for the hell of it. We had places to go too.

Huh. Seems like everyone has something to say about this when it's all over. I guess hotel security was that inept because obviously everyone here calling people dipshits, morons, etc notified hotel security to stop this problem. No? No one did? Not one soul? Who's fault is that? Apparently during all of the "good time" ruining, judgments were clouded if everyone was so awestruck by the elevator party to even get over their inner turmoiled soul and do something.
These guys didn't clog up the elevators, the percentage of 3000 registered people that were using two to three elevators to go to the 30 floors of hotel. For a big hotel, you'd figure they would have more. And don't forget the lazy people using the elevator to go to the 4th floor or to the lower level. Those guys clogged it up, these guys just made the long wait fun.

@TheKuni2000 It's not that I dont care. Out of the 4 times it was done by US, we were on the Elevator for no more than 30 mins. And We always went UP, then down. We even had the Security from Magfest in the Elevators with us. We handled it in a respected manor and knew NOT to hog the elevator. Either way it was fun. I had a blast. And several other attendees did as well. If it was a problem for other conners then so be it. Whats lost is lost. They cant get that time back in life. Move on.

You know its a shame this happened, as I've heard from people that MAGfest was awesome and filled with great events, panels, and games to play. Hopefully, the planners can take a look at these videos and do something about it next year.

These dingbats clogged the elevators every night, making a simple trip to your room take more time than what it was worth. And then when you actually got an elevator, this shit happened. Just a disappointment. That's probably the best word to use in this case.

They might not be responsible for the elevator problems, but it looks like they made it worse. The last clip showed a bunch of people crowding around the elevator "dancing." No one gets on or off. Implies that you guys used an elevator for your own purposes. and only one elevator was available to everyone else. If you guys don't provide a full explanation, most people would see this and assume the worst.
If guests start complaining, I don't think you could defend it. We'll see next year.

I personally flew all the way from Belgium to Virginia to visit magfest with a few american e-palls I have, mostly to meet 'team ttwtg' These bastards just ruined my day, my weekend, my year! I spent soo much money on getting there alone and then these turdpants-dickweeds show up and made me miss most things I came over to see!! And no, I couldn't 'just take the stairs' because one of my friends has had knee surgery and wasn't able to use the stairs for a month.

@DamienThornes What you need to understand is that, in general, the elevator waits were monstrosities. What many people are assuming due to ill legitimate information, is that we were "riding the elevators" when that was just not the case. Anyone who ridden an elevator with us KNEW that we would always carry a speaker with us (3 guys) in the events of their being people on it or not, would start music and have a party. Never did we ride the elevator for the hell of it. We had places to go too.

The elevators were jammed because the fucking hotel was AT CAPACITY. Actually no, it was over-capacity. Plenty of people had more than 4 in their rooms. and some had no room. Anyway, why don't u write up a little complaint note about your terrible time, or just DONT GO if it was so terrible.

hey guys.. this "elevator party" thing is a magfest tradition now. and I promise that if there are elevators at the new hotel, we will be back. And we don't give a damn what you complaint-box-noobs think. I know people had fun in the elevator parties, because I saw their faces and saw them dancing. Huh. Seems like everyone has something to say about this when it's all over. I guess hotel security was that inept because obviously everyone here calling people dipshits, morons, etc notified hotel security to stop this problem. No? No one did? Not one soul? Who's fault is that? Apparently during all of the "good time" ruining, judgments were clouded if everyone was so awestruck by the elevator party to even get over their inner turmoiled soul and do something.

These guys didn't clog up the elevators, the percentage of 3000 registered people that were using two to three elevators to go to the 30 floors of hotel. For a big hotel, you'd figure they would have more. And don't forget the lazy people using the elevator to go to the 4th floor or to the lower level. Those guys clogged it up, these guys just made the long wait fun.

@TheKuni2000 It's not that I dont care. Out of the 4 times it was done by US, we were on the Elevator for no more than 30 mins. And We always went UP, then down. We even had the Security from Magfest in the Elevators with us. We handled it in a respected manor and knew NOT to hog the elevator. Either way it was fun. I had a blast. And several other attendees did as well. If it was a problem for other conners then so be it. Whats lost is lost. They cant get that time back in life. Move on.

Thanks for highlighting the only real problem I had with MAGFest this year. Seriously. I'm not an angry person, but I almost snapped.
These dingbats clogged the elevators every night, making a simple trip to your room take more time than what it was worth. And then when you actually got an elevator, this shit happened. Just a disappointment. That's probably the best word to use in this case.
This is primarily why gamers and other con-goers alike get a bad reputation.
