the garment doesn't help anything. Women all over the world wear veils and hair covers, and they are still being raped and abused. Children wearing full body covers are still being raped brutally. The garment is another tactic of control by men. People need to wake up.

The NOI is not true Islam, wallahi. Elijah Muhammad was not a messenger of God and the organization taught some really ridiculous thing like God came in the body of a man. My God cannot be encapsulated by human features. And they don't cover as Muslim women are supposed to. In every society or community, men and women must respect societal boundaries, regardless of what they perceive or encounter. Otherwise they should face consequences. It is as simple as that. Women must exist on this planet alongside men. and women should not have to completely cloak their identities in order to receive respect from the men in their communities. Period.

I may not condone women of any age dressing in ways that are overly provocative, but a woman can wear more or less clothing and still be deemed as provocative, because it's a person's character that really determines how she or he will be received by others. I think women in such communities have socioculturally givien up on expecting the men in their communities to respect them and respect societal boundaries regardless of what the women wear or how they adorn themselves.

However, I do wonder at what point do women in this community not defer to the shortcomings of men? When you have to completely cover nearly every vestige of your identity as a way to suppress what you believe are the natural instincts of men, there is a serious issue. The people such a community must get to the root of the issue, which is lack of respect for women.

Islam means peace; not just words, but our actions, and the way that we relate with others.

Islam dignifies; it teaches us how to conduct ourselves with dignity, grace and patience. Eg, as Muslims, we don't call ourselves or others out of our names and NEVER, EVER refer to ANY female as 'hoe' or 'tramp'!!!

We have a problem with many of the sisters that follow the Hon. Elijah Muhammad covering their heads entirely not permitting one strand of hair on their head to be seen in the United States. I have noticed from several videos of the believers inside and outside of the mosque and the girls in Muhammad's University of Islam in the U.K. who do not wear any head pieces or a bandana simply.

Are there many followers of THEM in the UK who disagree with this & do they have their heads fully covered?
