  • "vaporize everyone in sight, you wont see it coming" now i get how those fail Javelin occur in MW

  • "Vapourize everyone inside". Even though it is meant to be hyperbole I find it amusing.

  • @GeneralCalculus

well it shoots a molten steel rod through the armor of the tank and into the crew compartment where it solidifies and bounces off the walls like buckshot so, hyperbole? yes, but not by much.

  • @EliasS5469 ... i rather spend 60000$ than have me or one of my men get shot in combat.

  • Too bad it isn't reloadable.

  • @rickcain2320 It is....

  • OMG A GIANT FLYING EXPLOSIVE SPIKY DILDO

  • @Blehemeton Well. It is going to fuck your day.

  • Javelin's the best, proved in combat, great american missile!

  • chuck norrises dick can do that for free

  • How can ibuy this javelin ? i one one to kill my friends

  • Damn, I mean er, damn, it's the spalling that'll get you every time...

  • Dear Santa....

  • @xkevibhoyx

    thats old now

  • chuck norris can akimbo that!!!

  • @Hugo00933 lol wtf does Akimbo mean?

  • @marcusbenhurr double weapons!!!

  • the javelin is inprecise crap

  • @gazakind youre a lieer

  • @Scorpac it is indeed very inprecise..

statistic for hitting a vehicle driving with 10 km/h hit ratio is 40%

    and 20 km/h 20%

that numbers can even be lower,. because they used just 5 rockets in each test...

    fgm-148 craplin

  • @gazakind source?

  • @sotemot i watched it on television in a reportage on "N24"

    and looked it up on

    ww w.army.mil.nz/at-a-glance/news/army-news/368/jo t.htm

but the site seem to be down...

was some time before.. i think a half years as i watched it..

you can try to look for it on

    ww w.army.cz/avis/areport2005/ar2str. pdf

but i'm not sure you will find it here..

  • I'm just wondering how many rpg 7s the US could buy and build for the cost of one of these?

  • @macuss87 Dozens.

  • @macuss87 anyone that would compare this weapon to an RPG 7 probably hasn't seen either of them fired. Two totally different roles. If you want to compare an RPG to an AT-4, go right ahead, but a fire and forget, top or front attack weapon that can dismantle a tank at long range? They aren't even comparable. Now, if you wanted to compare this to a Russian variant, it would be the 9M133 Kornet, not a shitty short range RPG.

  • @M2fiftycal You're probably right, though I have a strong feeling that very few fgm-148s used in battle were used on tanks. Now a $100,000 missle to take out a $2,000,000+ tank makes sense. Using it for anti personnel or anti sniper seems a little wasteful, just sayin' they could use something a little more bases for the grunts to throw around.

  • Lol, that video is way old. So old it's still OF2. They're now making a Dragon Rising 2 though

  • if only they spent as much time making the game half as decent as this clip...

  • i'm coming!!!

  • game sucked,

  • It's funny how in all three weapons trailers from OF2, you'll either be dead before you hear the shot, won't reach to blink before it explodes or won't even be seeing it comming...

  • a shame the game itself sucked

  • perfecto

  • too expensive

  • 1 missile = $800,000

  • It looks like Tow

  • Is it me, or does he sound like Obama.

  • it's you

  • @jsrf You wont see it coming. God bless America.

  • @jsrf haha, chill i got this. *pulls out javelin*

  • why didnt they spend abit more time making the game as realistic as this?

  • @sk1337a u have to compensate for how fast and wear the tank is moving to

  • how the fuck am i supposed to use it in the last mission n 11 tho? i wait til the crosshair's on the tank and then i fire, and the fuking stupid cunt of missile lands just behind it. WTF

  • its a glitch

i've heared of it , but its never happened to me

  • i don t get how to use it on XBOX 360

  • Aim on a tank, wait until you get a crosshair fixed on the tank and then fire.

  • you can fire it before lock i belive & it will go for the largest heat signiture...

Im disapointed actualy as in reality it will lock on to body heat so can be fired as an anti infantry / anti sniper weapon! yet in game it doesn't seem like you can!

  • For a weapon that's worth over 60000$ I highly doubt it that anyone will use it as a anti-sniper/anti-personel weapon...

  • oh they do.... i knows a royal marine whos fired 3 at diffrent targets in afgan... says its the muts nuts mind :)

  • How much money would you say a 4 man fire team is worth. It's sounds like serius overkill but in reality, if you have a quick, easy and safe solution... Most people take it.

  • unless that person is wearing a mjolnr armor, cuz they do exist don't they?

  • Is this a joke? I hope it is.

  • @EliasS5469 I play the game, and sadly it's not a joke. OFP-DR is the most realistic war-simulating game i've ever seen. (That doesnt mean much, btw...)

A whole island in Open World style and two armys who fight for it...with all techniques they use in real life.

But this commercial is a bit...well, Codemasters, next time you want to produce a good ad, think twice about it.

  • @xXACAPELLAxMIXERXx clearly u havent played arma 2

  • @EliasS5469 as COD4 Modern Warfare would say 'A single Javelin Missile costs more than U$80.000' pretty cheap in comparison to any armored vehicle it could obliterate

  • @EliasS5469 Quick question.... 60,000 dollars or the life of one of your soldiers.... which would you rather prefer?

  • @juki009 The survival of one of my soldiers, obviously.

  • @EliasS5469 Well if your pinned under enemy sniper fire you only have so many options. Scenario: Your squad is pinned under sniper fire from a building across from you. One of your men is wounded and needs immediate medical attention. Your men are also tired and fatigue is beginning to set on for being out all day. Its almost night fall in a couple of hours. You have only several options: Radio to see a nearby team to hunt the sniper, Call in CAS or Air strike on target building, hold position

  • @JFW92 ...until the cover of nightfall (but your one man needs medical help), or use a Javelin missile to take out the location of the hidden sniper and get back to base to save the lives of your men while minimizing further casualties and destroying a future threat. The call is yours

  • @EliasS5469 UK forces in afganistan use javelin all the time for bunker busting and takeing out snipers at stand-off range, because it costs an awful lot more to recruit, train, feed and deploy the solders you need to replace the casultys that would result from storming the building or attacking the sniper. and lets not forget the poor guys doing it.

  • @EliasS5469

Check again buddy its been used plenty of times againt personal.

  • @EliasS5469

    There is vids of it...

  • @EliasS5469 on top of that, each rocket costs over $100,000 lol.

  • @EliasS5469 They have been used in anti personel roles, I think i saw it used in a ross kemp in afghanistan documentary. Enemy armour is pretty much redundant so they use the anti armour weapons in other roles. And the CLU unit doubles up as a thermal scope when needed

  • @IreapsI they have indeed been used in anti personel roles to engage people attacking from behind fortifications. We had them at a Joint Security Station in Iraq in 2007 and obviously we had no Iraqi armor to hit with them in 2007.

  • @EliasS5469 I would use it as an anti-sniper weapon just for the sheer joy it would bring me to imagine a sniper shitting their pants before they die.

  • @EliasS5469 actually they do use it in real life against snipers.

  • @gabba1gabba1hey No they don't lol. Why make up such a ridiculous lie?

  • @9hello123 these weapon systems are currently deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq.

News flash, there are no hostile tanks in Iraq and espically not in Afghanistan. They use them as anti-infantry. go to live leak . com and search it, you will see videos.

  • @gabba1gabba1hey

Actually when the Iraq war was on (ended in August 2010) the insurgents there had BTR-40s and the likes.

  • @EliasS5469 they use it becuz....YOU WONT SEE IT COMING! lol

  • sucks they do in Afghanistan

  • @EliasS5469 In Afghanistan, it costs roughly $50 million USD to kill a single taliban soldier. $60,000 is chump change.

You could fire nearly 100 Javelins at a single person, if you wanted to.

  • @EliasS5469 It's often been used as Anti-Sniper weapon tho.

  • @EliasS5469 Uh, the U.S. does all the time.

  • @EliasS5469 if a sniper is in a spider hole there is no other way

  • @EliasS5469 They currently are........

  • @EliasS5469 its used most for anti-sniper applications... so i dont know what your getting at...

  • @EliasS5469 Are you always wrong or just here?

  • @EliasS5469 Yet we will use a 2000 LBS JDAM as an anti-personel weapon?

  • @EliasS5469 already happened in iraq, sniper hiding on rooftop behind burning oil ton... and guess what the marines did...right they blew em away with javeline top attack

    and thats the truth

  • @EliasS5469 whats the value of a human life these days anyway? right...

  • @EliasS5469 the missile is worth over 40k $40,000 (£20,000) (missile); $125,000 (reusable Command Launch Unit)

so id think twice to shoot this rocket like in cod 4...

  • If infantry are the largest heat signature in the are will it not lock on to them? Say if they are grouped together or whatever?

  • dosn't seem that way on the game, though it should in reality...

  • it's not designed for anti infantry use, so I believe the weapon has rather limited blast radius and I doubt it spreads shrapnel, oh and it's just way to expensive to take out small number of islamic extremists, probably better of shooting them with a gun

  • Comment removed

  • @EliasS5469 yo ,i've done tht and my fucking missile always lands just behind it.

  • isnt this rocket like a robot rocket? it locks by itself !

  • yeah so its technical and al that but i can't help but think is that polystrine on the side, if so why not use something which will fall apart?

  • It is polystyrene, its used cause it's light and cheap.

  • thought so sorry for the poor english in the last question was distracted. i can understand why they use it i just find it pretty funny that something that fires rockets worth £50,000 has something on it which is used to package bb guns and stuff.

  • but the missile cost 100k lol

  • Those are so fun to shoot. lol

    OohRah

  • it looks so bad ass when the missile comes out of the barrel

  • Tasty

  • i love these trailers and im so getting this game.

  • hell yeah

  • holy crap me too i cant wait

  • I'm so glad my army has these, baby. The other bastard doesn't stand a chance :)

  • wasteofspace1234 - what if the other bastard has a better one?

  • ha, yeah :)

  • javelin's for life

  • Iv'e fired one of these before at a British Army recruting centre. Obviously not one with a missile inside lol it was a exact replicar, weight and targeting system wise. Its hard to explain, its like a video game exept the controller was the javalin (missle launcher) hehe :P

  • This video is completely accurate. The fins don't open right as they leave the tube, they open slower and are fully extended by the time it propels itself.

  • They extend right before the missile propels itself, otherwise it'd spiral out of control; it's all about aerodynamics.

A rocket has fixed blades, otherwise when it lifts off it would have nothing to stabilise it.

  • ya, but in this video, it shows them extending at the exact moment it leaves the tube

  • Ah.

  • But u must hit the target, javelin is more accurate...

  • i thought rpgs were rocket propelled GRENADES . grenades cant do that much damage... Can they?

  • They can, But the RPG's grenades have a different chemical mixture to your standard issue frag.

  • Modern RPGs have a copper penetration on it - forgot the real name of it, but it's basically molten copper moving at a high speed, which can piece through almost any armor (even tanks). So while they won't make a tank explode, modern rpgs can disable them.

  • It's not an RPG. It's a Javeline missile. An RPG takes about 20 shots to blow up an M1A2 Abrams

  • The warhead is a shape charge filled with copper. Upon detonation the copper is melted into a molten metal slug that penetrates armor. The shape charge design allows the explosive force to be focused into a smaller area.

  • It's proven that the Rpg's grenade is a coned shape which does more damage

  • more damage to softer targets, but javalins and the like are designed to go through tank armour. Shoot an RPG at a tank, and it would most likely just bounce off. Otherwise it'll just explode on the outside and the tanks armour wouldnt be penetrated and thus the tank can still go about its business.

Javalin rockets go through the roof of the tank.

    And RPGs arent guided.

  • Yes but Rpg's have been known to peirce tank armour but not do any damage. But it's not always about destroying the tank you could fire at the treads of the tank disabling it you could then aim for the area between the turret and under part of the tank But a Javelin is used to destroy tanks. Besides the Javilen may be guided but it's a big peice of equipment and you really can't hide it with you just of it's size

  • A tank which cant move canstill shoot you. A tank that you can take out a mile away before it even knows what hit it, cant hurt you.

And last time I checked, the US army wasnt into hiding, so its size isnt such a big deal :P

  • As is a terrorist Terrorists seem to have everthing But if you imobilize a tank it then can be hit by mortars and arty

  • Not really sure if terrorists have access to that sort of firepower. Why dont they do this instead of exploding themselves in crowds of civilians?

  • Well the terrorists must make bets and the loser must suicide bomb alot of people for the lose of the bet

  • i am a no it all wen it comes to the javelin n you wont be see because you will have moved befor it hits the tank n its nt big its a rocket launcher with a scope on the side witch picks up on heat

  • The Russian Metis AT-13 is the russian copy of the Javelin. The metis has a scope and is just as big as the javelin

  • will the FGM-148 is the best anti tank weapon

  • FUCK YEAH !!

  • dont get me wrong i love americans but do they have any british weapons on this game like the L85A2

  • british weapons suck i mean like duhhh

  • how do you know have you shot one

  • recoil ???

  • When you see the huge fucking missile come out of the launcher

  • yup. but still, america spends too much money on weapons and not enough on social and economical growth. britain is exactly the same.

  • well we both the unidted states and britan combined dont spend as much as china

  • im guessing they wont since it us vs. ..chinese or japanese? only game ive ever palyed with l85a2 was project reality mod for battlefield 2. good gun :)

  • im gessing we will fighting china becouse japan and the united states are good alies infact one of our largest military bases are in china

  • forgot to mention that you don't need visual contact to fire and hit the target

  • False. You need direct vision of aim.

  • Rocket launcher cost is 120 000$. One rocket cost is 80 000$ =)

  • RPG's cost about 500 dollars while the firing mechanism is about a grand...

    Trust me

  • Trust me, the javelin is far more badass :)

  • yea but expensive

  • Well what would you prefer to be humping when a tank rolls over the next knoll, a $500 RPG that's got a hit rate of 22% at 300 meters, or a Javelin that's pretty much a fire and forget system?

Besides, as expensive as Javelins are, the cost of a main battle tank along with crew and fuel will cost a lot more then 10 javelins put together.

  • And to add. I doubt one RPG would destroy a tank.. it'd take alot of them.

  • RPG's don't do shit to a modern tank(Unless it's tandem). Strykers, are pretty screwed without cage armour. And Bradley's can take a few I think.

  • RPG's will fuck over a tank, the ones that look like 2 copper cups put from top to top together, yea, those MELT through the steel, but, half of the Terrorists dont know how to properly aim with them.

  • really the only tank a rpg can take down is maybe a coldwar soviet t-71 tank

  • Well RPG's have taken down several M1A2's in the iraq war

  • well there is two types of rpg's the light version and the heavy version

  • Really? :| never knew that tell me more please! :)

  • sadly it didn't the other rocket system that the Iraqi got. the rpg is like anti armor personal instead of tank hunter.

  • are you saying a javelin is inacurate as fuck? cause there definately not, rpgs sway when there in mothion and shit an there inacurate, but the missle for a javelin cost around 2 million each, so ive hears

  • Where did I say Javelins were in accurate?

Fire and forget = lock on, fire, duck and enjoy your roasted tank in about 12 seconds.

And the launcher runs $125,000 or so, each missile is about $80,000. As a side note, usually only the longest ranged cruise missiles will breach more then a mil.

Comparatively, a Russian T90 runs about $1.5 million and an Abrams will go up of $6.5 million.

  • oh im sorry, i thaught you meant fire and forget as in the missile forgot where its target was and i wasnt completely shure about the price thats just what i heard

  • stfu what a lier !

  • this game looks like a must buy

  • ok.. got it: Javelin good

  • Someone tell them to make this game faster I need it

  • lol not out yet

  • i want 40 please
