  • I was incredibly impressed with the panel. Mindfulness has shown to have a positive impact on the lives of many. I would urge even those who regard themselves as generally happy to look into it as it tends to help one experience the fullness of live in every moment. Society would be transformed if this were taught in schools as it would produce a generation of emotionally intelligent, compassionate, caring, peaceful and content children, which in turn would affect our work life, politics, etc

  • Ultimate happiness is the complete absence of fear.

  • @Evilrolfharris Love this quote, you rock dude xD

  • @Evilrolfharris

aka why so many people cling onto hallucinative drugs. Its a temporary state of mind where people can deny the stresses of the reality around them and a place where they can convince themselves nothing really matters. It is of course a very short lived state of bliss and thats why people cling onto it and convince themselves that they need drugs in order to experience the best things life has to offer.

  • The quality and quantity of our happiness is in direct proportion and opposition to the amount of fear we feel. Not fear we can see, for that is a fear we can deal with, it is the fears we can't see, the intangible, irrational fears that we cannot confront or escape. When we are filled with this fear, we are ultimately unhappy, when we are able to deal with fear, we become happier.

  • i think the issue at hand for contentment (AKA Happiness) is to the level of control a person feels they have in thier life. There was a documentary that showed how the "boss" could experience less stress because they are in position of a form of control or decision making. The workers, can experience this higher level of contentment at work when they are included in the decision making process, according to the people in the documentary.

  • LOL, so right! They don't look happy. Maybe because they use the proxy indicators like joy and contentment which the Cleveland guest expert shared. Happiness is a skill. Wow! But it is true that we used to be taught more explicitly to be grateful and show gratitude to others through words and deeds. And they say these habits and mindsets make one experience more happiness. Gee. I am surprised how boring a subject on happiness can be!

  • hahaha they didn't look too happy to begin with LOLs. dude from newton is cute! ;)

  • Happiness is the lack of boredom. Happiness is but a habit, that I had to learn as many others have. I enjoyed the whole thing though...vote yes, lol BE HAPPY
