Proud to say I know this fool. He's a bad ass rider when his shit is running correctly. I've hit this warlock a few times on my CRF250R. it depends on how steep the landing is. U cant manhandle an quad like u can a dirt bike so if the landing is realy steep its harder to get it to that steep angle. On flat they r about the same.

1. This was a grand prix style race so yes they start with a the engine off and next to the quad- when they wave a flag, you go and jump on. In normal MX races, you are already on and ready to go.

2. Yes, that was a utility quad. The course is several miles through the woods and on the track.
