  • We are using this song in my school concert, it goes so well for the ending of it. I really love it and awesome to be a south african

  • What is the name the singer who sings in 2:18 ?

  • @Oleanderify1 Jacques Terre'Blanche

  • @ABnonimouse Thanks

  • I've met Danny K! he's awesome!

  • This version of shout is better than the origional by tears for fears

  • Thitears for fearss version of shout is better than the origional by

  • What a fine performance for the cause!

  • I find it ironic that the video only has 55000 views, and one reason is for cable theft which denies others to watch this on youtube.

  • Great vid!!!

  • Well done guys this is such an awesome compilation. I pray with you that people will learn to work with one another and not against each other. South Africa can be such a successful country if we can all take hands and work together. STOP the crime STOP the corruption and lets make SA the wealthiest country in the World! God Bless my home country. Greetings from the United Kingdom

  • I've seen many countries, not been there, but I have traveled SA and I love this country. It's beauty is truly amazing. Every country has it's own problems. We have ours, and we trying to sort it out. But you can not just up and run away. The only is to do this together. It's the only way for us to protect what is our own. South Africa. There is no better place.

  • I am a South African! I have experienced crime and so have many of us but some people have commented about how a song cant change crime - My question to you is this is their way, what are you doing to prevent crime?

  • so inspiring, left me crying in Korea today. We as South Africans can rise above

  • Do not depurate be happy with naughty women mworld5.info

  • Im a South African in London, My grandfather and uncle were Hi-jacked last night at gun point. SOme people say the they were lucky there were not shot??? WTF!!! THis shit shouldnt be happening at all. COME ON SA!!! COME ON!!

  • continued... this diverse, terrifying, gorgeous country. Someday, when it is safe, we will move back there and I WILL call SA home again. It will happen. Thank you SHOUT participants for a moving piece. Love Lori, Vancouver Island, Canada

  • I'm a Canadian married to a South African. I first lived there right after elections for a year and have been back a few times since. I may not be South African but I am emotionally connected to that country. Only someone who has lived there can truly understand the depths of this video. I cannot watch this without crying tears of sorrow and tears of hope. I'm going back in 6 weeks again and when I walk across the feld and breathe that dry African air I will send out all my postive wishes for

  • me podrian decir los cantantes de este video??

  • Thank you SHOUT for donating R 50 000 towards our charity, Matla A Bana - A voice against child abuse! You are real stars! Monique Strydom (CEO - Matla A Bana)

  • This video makes me proud to be South African. And yes, only watching a video doesn't do much for battling crime. But neither does moaning about it. Donating your hard earned money however, does make a difference. If 45032 people (the views so far) gave R20 each, it adds up. And this video does a lot for inspiration to do just that.

  • this is awesome!!! Well done.. you have our support!!

  • To all the souls that have had nothing but negativity, what good EXACTLY are you bring to the world? Do your negative comments and belittling opinions make you feel good or superior in some way? Grow up, at least some people are trying to do something. Shame on you.

  • WE CAN DESTROY CRIME WITH AN IRON FIST. WE CAN DO THIS COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cxg945 WTF is ur problem man?! Fuck off! If u didnt want to listen to this song, then y did u?! this song strikes a very familiar chord in almost all South Africans. so STFU and dont critisize unless u understand what its like to have barred windiws and barbed wire surrounding your house. Fucking Retard.

  • WOW EXELINT VIDEO!! We can all do our part against crime. The Police have their hands full. Where is our army? On struck I guess. I’m a proud South African and I’m SHOUTING AGAUNST CRIME!! WE CAN BEAT THIS!!

  • mp3iffy now lets you grab cd-quality VEVO videos and HD YouTube videos to convert into mp3s. AWESOME> google mp3iffy.

  • As a former resident of Zambia and Kenya, with my heart and soul in Africa, I thought it was wonderful to find this in a link to ZA News clip. I remember and love the original, but this is special and speaks eloquently to the needs of not only RSA, but the world.

Love it . . . sharing it with a new generation.

  • @cxg945 are you South African?

  • im a south africa in oz sa rocks

  • Tears for Fears one of my fav 80's groups. This's fantastic. I still love the original =D

  • Unfcukingbelievable, thats all I can say! So much talent and such a good cause - I'm txting right now! Proudly South African all the way!

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this song..I just had to pop into Pick 'n Pay to buy the CD for 20 bucks! ^_^ And knowing that the money is donated to our crime fighting forces brings relief...cos we will actually be doing ourselves a favor at the end of the day!

C'mon South Africa! Buy the CD! I'm talking to you!

  • @cxg945 Sometimes awareness building activities can spark action. As an American this song caught my attention. We are bombarded with so much media that wants our attention. This was a good way of getting it. People check out Facebook pages too and it might educate them about a cause in the process.

  • @cxg945 Fuck off

  • Comment removed

  • @cxg945 Fok jou idioot!!!

  • @cxg945 Oooo what a great come back.....lmao. Such a loser!

  • Comment removed

  • @cxg945 lmfao....Expressing yourself? As a pathetic doos huh XDDD

  • @cxg945 Some people always know how to ruin something...when it really doesnt have much to do with them at all...its just raising awareness..its not to say by doing this that it will solve the problem..thats up to each individual...you are just being negative and spoiling the message it is trying to bring..and the original tears for fears song was obviously suitable..which it is..don't ruin it for others..dont bother listening to something if you are going to be this way...its just rude

  • @cxg945 You fucking asshole! IM South AFrican and i understand the crime in the poor areas. Luckily i live in the rich areas but i still actually care about other people unlike assholes like you. Instead of joining a cause to stop crime around here, i would much rather join a cause to get rid of assholes like you

  • @cxg945 Look, this song might not save the world, but that's no reason to be negative. Being negative means you're giving into crime and you're against stopping it. This song isn't meant to fucking SAVE the world. It's literally something that raises awareness among the people and communities and helps us keep our heads high. It reminds us that people know we are victims of crime. It helps us to realize that we could unite as a country - it helps all the same, asshole. Fuck off.

  • So if i do something bad to someone but not in a violent way it will be good?

  • Brilliant!!!! Just been on a anti violence march in london. So cool, awesome people who would love change in thinking. Props people!!!!

  • I LOVE this song. can't get enough of it. buy the cd. i found it at pic n pay. The longer, original version of the song is on it. its so great!!!! i love this country, i love our music and i love that there are people in s.a who can stand together and raise a voice against the things that "we can do without". WE CAN! SOOOOOO proudly S.A!!

  • If they can get all these musicians to stand up together so can we!

South Africa is our land, we cant do it alone but together we can concur all these bad things and show the world what SA has to offer.

  • This is by far the coolest thing south africa has ever done.

  • @TheM1K3L i thought that was apartheid?

  • @al3xt3hl0nly Get with the programme. Apartheid is so 1980!!!!!!

  • I'm sorry... i understand the motive behind the song... but this is the douchiest version of this song i have ever heard. I agree to the message and, lyrically, it's a proper song... but ugh.. i barely made it through the whole thing.

I know how much crime needs to get under control in S.A., and i support that cause... but i can't support the bastardization of this originally great song.

  • @Ghouesen Picky aren't you! This is not the worse I have heard. This is decent. I have heard much much worse.

  • This is wonderfull. Shouth Africa is great. Check also this great forum for discussing crime issues CrimeChat co za

  • Go South Africa! Its time to show criminals that we wont stand for his anymore!

  • Just lost a friend as a result of a violent crime :-(

Songs and messages like these really do give hope that one day we will reclaim our country from those heartless scum-bags. They have terrorised our streets and our homes long enough- ONS IS GATVOL!!

    KWANELE!!!!!!!!

  • \o/

  • wow! i'm an american but tht was a very inspiring video. hopefully those w/out the internet can somehow see this vid & get inspired by taking action on their own to do whatever they can to cut down on the crime. even here in the states we can use music like this to inspire ourselves. it was also very nice to see how blacks and whites are working together in this vid despite some racists in sa. plus i like the rappers here who are preaching peace rather than violence unlike the american rappers.

  • This song makes me proud to be a South African/British Person. Along with Our Heritage bY die heuwels fantasties! :)

  • This song still gives me goose bumps. I have sent this to all of my over seas friends. SHOUT!

  • Only 32,350 views more than 45 days later.

    Pathetic.

Not exacty a viral video - in fact, just the oposite.

  • @Synesthesias don't assume that every one in South Africa has the luxury of the internet.......

Tv and radio are still the most accessible form of media in SA , pity there's no Yutube there (tv & radio) otherwise you wouldn't even begin to make such a comment!

  • @tswape - Don't make assumptions.

I live in South Africa and am aware of the statistics, as well as the low quality of internet service here (not "there" as you wrote).

My comment still stands, that even given the low internet rate in this country the viewing count on the video is low - period.

  • love this! thank you!

  • You have to SHOUT when those in power choose not to LISTEN!

Infinitely more powerful than anything BOB & BONO have ever done.

Next, let's see a 'SHOUT' album with all these brilliant SA artists featured and then agressively marketed overseas to motivate global awareness, action and $ to help the RSA victims of crime.

I, and I'm sure thousands of others who now live abroad, would definately buy it.

PS: How about a series of concerts to raise the roof even more?

  • yes see we can stand together!proudly South African!

  • This makes me so homesick! ;-( I left cos I wasn't willing to put up with the crime in SA, but definitely feel like an orphan in the UK. S Africa will always be in my blood... but I wasn't prepared to have mine or my families' spilled by staying.

  • Come on South Africa only 29,438 veiws

  • I thik yous in SA need to realy stand up start a revolution or something realy get the streets filled with protest try embaress the government protest and fingt and fight more till you sick of fighting and then fing some more

  • 28,500 views? Come on SA - you should ALL be viewing this!

  • @999117 unfort the internet only has a 10% reach into the population of SA that's the reality. Mobile has over 100% reach, that's the way to spread the campaign, and radio, tv, and posters etc

  • this is what we need right now, thanks

  • i Can listen to this song all day. Really makes me so Proud of SA. We needa stand up against Crime! SHOUT!

  • The guy with the glasses is Arno Carstens (Lead singer of the Springbok Nude Girls)

  • Brilliant stuff guys! Ross Learmonth and Louise Carver (?) sound really good together at the beginning, and love the Soweto Gospel Choir at the end! Always love the Parlotones, but Khan's hair looks freaking weird in this hehe :)

    PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN!

  • Yes yes yes!!! Genocide was a crime when Hitler did it, why is it ok now??? How can the world close their eyes at what;s happening??

  • @64Muffet Because you Nazis keep on making it a race thing. VIOLENCE affects everyone, and as an American (you're on an American website too giving you this platform to air your filth) we have no tolerance for Nazis.

  • @imhotep1 No idea why you are calling me a Nazi.....I am against the genocide in our country....and my question was why it's ok if it happens to us??? You clearly aren't reading what I said. I never once insinuated that crime only affects white people. I just said we should address the genocide issue as well as the crime in our country, so please keep your insults to yourself.

  • Arno Carstens, Steve Hofmeyer, Parlotones, Kurt Darren, Prime Circle, Karen Zoid, Danny K, Kabelo Mabalane, Freshly Ground, Jamali, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Watershed. These are only the most widely known artists. There are quite a few more lesser known ones, and some celebrities.

  • hey can anyone list at least 10 of the artist in this vid...im interested in the SA music scene, but I know absolutely nothing about it ..Thanks

  • AWESOME!

  • "Thumbs UP"

  • Who is that dude with the glasses?

    I love his voice

  • @shankadelic007 His name is Arno Carstens. He used to be in a band called Springbok Nude Girls.

  • Fantastic- Teats for Fears would be proud :]

  • Way to go SA musos. I think it's a great campaign. Well done to all involved. Its time to make some real noise against crime.

  • I think South Africa is Awesome !!!! Shout !!!

  • Great song!I hope Malema watches this...!

  • @Franna325 Do we really have to promote Malema everywhere ? You are really making Him famous now..... Back to the subject, Great song.

  • What a great music video! SA rocks! I just want the message to start getting across to all SA and make this a better place! Reduce crime!

  • :) Awesome.

  • SOUTH AFRICA ROX!!!!! I'm a PROUD South African and we will make an effort against crime!!!! I know I will!! But will you?

  • Hay Guys great work you make south Africa proud !!!!!!!!

  • Good work people!

    Sterkte aan ons almal!

  • Sometimes, but only sometimes a coversong comes out which is just outstanding, brilliant and make your forget the original song. THIS is one of this kind.

And: the most important thing: it made me curious, why they made it and in this case it is important.

    Superb!

  • This is a really classy cover,

  • @rorymacrobert

say what you want buddy. and yes millions have died, are dying and will die unless the TRUTH is known to everyone! and if that makes me sound like i belong on a soap box ... whatever you said, so be it! i don't give a damn!

  • if the country doesnt see our top performers start standing up then there is no hope im in australia and was shocked when i realized that there are so many south africans here, when u are in SA u isolated and dont realize, there is everthing from south afican shops rugby teams and as a drive threw the streets i notice south african flags stickers on more and more cars as i go, PSA EVEN THOUGH IM AWAY!!!

    DO your research damnit!

    blessings to you @nnie,

    blessings to you mykoolaid!

  • WAKE UP people of south africa!

    @nnie speaks the TRUTH!

HIV is DEAD! always has been!

let's just ADMIT it, we have all been LIED to for 26 years now, so let's DO something about it!

DO your research damnit! search into the science of it all!

    blessings to you @nnie,

    blessings to you mykoolaid!

  • WAKE UP GOOD PEOPLE OF SOUTH AFRICA!! @nnie speaks the TRUTH!

HIV is DEAD! always has been!

it's time we all accept we have been LIED to for about 26 years now, and do something about it!

    DO your research!

    God bless you @nnie,

    God bless you mykoolaid!

  • I'm sure Roland and Curt are very proud that their hit song is being used for such a great cause.

  • This video is just amazing. I don't know why all these people are talking about HIV here, 'cause this vid has NOTHING to do with that.

I hope this amazing, fantastic video encourages all South Africans to stand up against crime and ignorance and to deal with all issues contributing to that, especially with regards to education!

  • @Saethchan I came over because Annie asked me to.

Isn;t genocide a crime? Why shouldn't people stand up against that? Or are you only worried about what happens to your car?

  • @mykoolaidtastesfunny You want to talk about genocide? Thousands of dead babies dumped at landfills, little children going missing and found dead in the fields, my grandmother and one of my best friends murdered on the same night. I don't give a fuck about petty crime, but murder? People get away with it every day. That's why I stand up for this video. Let's find a way to stop crime.

  • That's not genocide. That's just rampant crime although you have my sympathies for your gram.

Genocide is systematic destruction of entire groups of people. Like what they're trying topull with the "hiv" scam. The tests are unstandardized & nonspecifc crap & the "meds" are deadly poison. Google....AZT LABEL..ifyou don't believe me & check out the link to the test kit dsclaimer I haveon my channel. Yes...azt is STILL used. They just changed the name to zidovudine so people would keep buying

  • Love it! Very well done :) It makes me feel proud to be South African

  • Awesome composition of both music and video! Well Done!!!

  • Annie, this vid is not about HIV/Aids. Stop proselytizing here.

  • Really cool! (Although you won't make any money off this if anyone can view it on YouTube) ;-)

  • I think it's wonderful when people with influence use it in a positive manner! I think this song is the beginning of a HUGE step forward for all South Africans to finally unite against crime! Well done to everyone that took part...

Oh, and if anyone knows who annie46664's dealer is, please let me know - looks like she gets REALLY good stuff! She reads books by people who have conversations with their dead children (how odd!) as well as animals! FREAKY MAN! Must be the Durban poison...

  • @CountessLeto Annie is right. Maybe not about the Horowitz stuff but in the fact that "hiv" is big genocidal lie she's spot on.

  • Comment removed

  • That was beautiful! 5-Stars & I Fav'd it! What stunning voices & what a beautiful message. S.A. needs a collective voice to guide ppl. This is it. :-)

  • Awesome stuff. I think this is great that celebrities are taking a stand. Come on SA - let's stop moaning and DO SOMETHING! Have spent my R20 and will put it on my phone as my ringtone. DJ FRESH - YOU ARE THE BEST!

  • @annie46664

    Herr, schmeiss Hirn vom Himmel

  • @annie46664

Thanks for posting. Am just watching a video by Dr. Len Horrowitz and will watch those you have posted on your channel. I will be back, although want to express my deepest trust that you have thoroughly investigated into this matter and know what you are talking about.

    From Munich with Love,

    Lisa

  • brilliant video well done to the planing and all wow im impressed came out better than i expected

  • This just once again proves the unyielding spirit of South Africa!! No matter what our race, langauge, age or any other difference, we WILL overcome all our nations hurdles, crime being one of them!

    AMANDLA SOUTH AFRICA!! AMANDLA 4EVA!!!!

  • Nice work ! Especially to the woman who sang so you can't hear that Arrogant Loser of a Kurt Darren ! WOW ! He must be P!ssed Off for not being the Main Attraction of the video ! Ha Ha Ha ! W*anker !!

  • wow....this is what makes me proud to be called a South African....

  • Love the video, love the song......

  • Comment removed

  • Claudiacoetzee and Jedpause - have a look at the evidence before you give your uninformed and uneducated opinions. A good place to start would be Annies Channel (which is a compilation of the best HIV advice on YT) and the film 'House of numbers' would be a good second place. This is a new film, there are clips of it on YT. Your comments may make people who read it think that you are right. Research the other side of the coin first, that's all i'm saying.

  • Great initiative supported by La Cuccina Restaurant in Hout Bay Cape Town."Be the change you want to see !!!!!!"

  • Great Video Well delivered!

  • Pity we couldn't get any of our useless government officials on board with this. Oh yes I forgot, it's for charity and those morons don't do anything for free. They just just want to continue feeding out of the trough of corruption. Excellent video, let's hope it actually has some impact on the outrageous rate of crime in our beautiful country.

  • We think this is a brilliant initiative! Well done guys. You have a platform and you are using it to do something helpful in South Africa instead of complaining and doing nothing! AWESOME!

  • Excellent video, very catchy....

and annie46664, you are VERY irritating. go away. I''ve seen 2 people diagnosed and die from HIV/AIDS.... and no it's not a crime against blacks you dippy fool; it is transferred sexually and via other means... the crime annie is YOUR LIE and that of the senior politicians who do the same.

At least these people are awaking the spirit to fix it... part of a whole range of things that must be done. That's action, not your inaction on AIDS, go fish!

  • annie so wat you saying is that if infected people dont use ARV's they'l be ok? wtf you are crazy!!

  • @claudiacoetzee She's right. The SCIENCE says the meds are useless. I don't care about the marketting. Google....20 Unanswerable Questions for Aids Inc

the direct link is on my channel. Make note of #20. Direct links to the peer reviewed studies are included in the article. HAART shows ZERO improvement in health or lifespan.

  • annie46664 so wat is killing our nation, if its not HIV? what are people dying from?
